I am more than worried that developer and majority of players who loudly enjoy the game are too quiet about online issues. Let's be real, guys. From all big current fighting games DBFZ has far the worst netcode and online modes. We're almost month in and all the issues are not only still there, but I don't see any promise that eventually this aspect will get better. Even online tournament by stream.me was postponed, because you can't do online tournament in this condition.

The online lobby stuff absolutely needs to be fixed. Not just the instability but the entire structure. If they insist on keeping the lobby structure - which they will, they have too much invested in it - thats fine, but they can revamp the way it works to make it easy and quick to get into matches.

One of the simpler (i would imagine, I dont know specifics of this sort of stuff) ways to make this work, would the ability to host private lobbies, and a quick way to join private lobbies. So if I were hosting a tournament, I would host a lobby, give out the PW to tourney competitors, etc, people join and then the ring match structure and such itself that's already in place can work. Additionally, when I create a ring match, I should have the option to invite people directly into the match - like pretty much every other FG ever.

Yep. Im just hardwired to try and punish certain things.. my brain refuses to accept certain things as being safe/plus/etc. I get so mad at myself lol..

And it works against me in other ways as well, I'll vanish and get blocked, only to the block as well because I fear a punish. Again, my brain refuses to accept a full screen, fast, cross-up teleport isn't complete death on block.
I thought Raw Vanish was punishable and anything on block into Vanish is plus?

They need to fix 60 second wait if you accept match and other person is afk.... annoying af :/ It should be 10-15 sec and move on to next if hes not responding .

I only wait about 30 seconds max then jus move on :) though it takes long wnough to find somone as it is lol

So..

21 def running point.

Hit can extend for 21, allowing her to get a pretty easy 50%~ no-bar midscreen off her 2M. Slightly less off other starters, but still very nice. It adds roughly 10% to almost all her stuff in un-optimized form. Anything I can end with her j.LMS.qcb.M. Its basic, nothing that's going to win me Evo, but its a nice piece of synergy that does a little more than her lv1 (which i can still tack on to the extension Hit's assist allows).. So lets me either crank up the damage, or keep solid damage and conserve my meter. I like it.

Saving meter on 21 allows Hit to use it a little more liberally. My working theory here is to use 21 to build meter with her decent meterless damage and Hit's assist closing the gap. Hit will probably be running 2nd and when I bring him out, I'll concentrate on making use of his excellent 1 bar damage, and dump meter as I see fit, with Kid bringing up the rear. Kid works anywhere, everywhere and with or without meter.. However, Candy Beam into lv3 is something I use the SHIT out of, and as much as people keep yelling its inefficient.. it keeps winning me games. Meter builds like crazy in this game.

Kid could run second instead of Hit, and concentrate on his lv1 damage and raw obnoxiousness - but if I was going to run him meter-starved, I might as well throw him out front and run 21 second.

Shrug.

All this mess of words and half-assed theory crafting was meant to say is "I feel like its important to have Hit 'behind' 21, because his assist is useful to her."

Happened to me like 15 mins ago and cost me game 3. Been smoking ever since.

missed block inputs is a serious problem in any game. It's even more serious in a game that has like minute longer blockstrings, you don't even have to open someone up, just make them block long enough and the game will eventually open them up for you
 
Are there any good assists in the game that cover against Super Dash?

I feel so anxious ever pressing the ki blast button in this game.

missed block inputs is a serious problem in any game. It's even more serious in a game that has like minute longer blockstrings, you don't even have to open someone up, just make them block long enough and the game will eventually open them up for you
I haven’t experienced this in any other game. Where I was blocking for 100% certain, and then a simple mid still hits me. I’ve never played an anime game though so maybe it’s just a thing in anime games, idk.

I feel so anxious ever pressing the ki blast button in this game.
Cell's is the best for it, SS Goku / Goku Black's are also up there because these three spend the longest on screen, Frieza's and Majin Buus also have a big superdash stopping hitbox

I think the missed blocked inputs"could" be cuz of frames on jumping or landing, just taking a guess but this is usually when ill get hit and be like ...really?

That does happen, and I’ll freely admit that, but that’s not what happened to me. Can you be hit when getting up from KD? It was Frieza’s 2M on meaty and I know for a fact I was holding 1.

Ok.. so..

My buddy and I have an ongoing issue with this. The largest, absolute largest culprit, is if I SD and he blocks. I'll bounce off and proceed to hold/hit down back so fucking hard I'm about to bend my stick or shove m thumb through the pad, I'll land and he'll just 2LL me into a full combo. This happens more than once, every time we play. It's turned into like a running joke with us... One I dont particularly find funny because I lose life bars over it.

There have been a TON of times I've SWORN I was blocking, but just been opened up. It is interesting to see others having the issue. I have nerve issues in my hands and just figured it was my hands spasming or me not being able to let go (blocking down back and transferring to standing block for an OH is difficult for me if im not careful because the longer my hand is in one position the harder it is get it to shift or change), or some other weird issue with nerve signals getting lost or garbled.. but others seem to be having this lost blocking thing as well.

It was so bad early on that we thought there were some kind of landing frames involved where you couldn't land into crouch block and it was possible to "meaty" a low as I landed and it make it unblockable.

Shrug. Glad I'm not entirely crazy.. cause I may suck but I don't suck so bad at any game that I just wake up, hit no button and not block, or land and hit no button and block. Or do something negative but not punishably so, and again, just not block.
 
For anyone encountering the blocking issue replay + input display feature might illuminate the issue and help with reports to devs. I'll keep in mind to watch for it and check the replay.

Then again i'm not sure if the replay would be honest about it. If it's a bug that fooled the game into missing the inputs there's no reason it wouldn't likewise be bugged on the replay. Still a chance I guess though. So worth a try.

It's good Theo mentioned it. Definitely not something I'd complain about without feeling like I'm going full DSP.

You never go full DSP.

Some airborne moves have landing recovery like Goku's air Kamehameha. This is straightforward; upon landing you will enter a landing animation where you are completely vulnerable
When landing from a jump, there is still a unique 3F landing recovery that disables certain actions for limited amounts of time.
1F after landing you can cancel into all actions except forward/backward walk, all jumps, and backdash
3F after landing all actions are possible
Another quirk about landing in this game is that the frame before landing, you are considered grounded meaning you can be hit by ground Dragon Rush during the last frame of jumping and getting hit on the last frame will result in ground hitstun.

Press any of the upward directions to jump. All characters can also perform a double jump by jumping again while midair. Ground jumps have 4 frames of startup where you are still considered on the ground, are invincible to throws and Dragon Rush, can not block, and can cancel the jump startup into ground Special Attacks. .

So if I'm reading this right, an attack exactly as you land is unblockable? It reads like there is a 1 frame window where you cant do anything? So a perfect landing "meaty" is unblockable?

Yea thats the way im reading it too, so if this is true the hell we suppose to do? U jab or forward dash and still get hit by the meaty.... mayb reflect upon landing, but then get punished for a whiff? Not sure what the reasoning behind this would be if its true

Not too happy bout this....
Be 100% on that you aren't confusing landing for start up, cause there is meant to be start up window where you can't block on jumping. Test it by manually recording to jump every 2 seconds into immediate downback hold, and making sure you can punish landing frames. Cause that would be kinda shit. The way it's worded makes it sound like it's only added recovery on certain moves, so be 100%

That's really weird actually, in an anime game where you jump and run around like a complete lunatic that is a strange choice.. I will test when I can.
