Yeah, some people just go ham regardless of the outcome. The fact that all it takes is just one button press (playing on pad) to be all up in your opponent's face is too enticing for some.

I barely super dash at all unless it's during combos. I might need to implement it a little at the end of block strings to bait out buttons.
I dont do it too but I noticed that its good to do it sometimes . For example I played one guy and he was winning but then I used my spark and started to go crazy with super dashes and stuff and he didnt knew how to react cuz I went from not doing a single dash to going crazy with it . I made a comeback and won :D

Up close super dashes after string are hard to react to if someone dont do them often .

Why is vanish + on block? Like, is there a logical reason for that other than it costs meter? Like it being safe would make sense, but actually plus? I don’t get it.
Apparently it's only plus if you immediately do a normal, like if you jump away it's actually not plus so it's only sort of plus. Maybe it's a bug? Maybe they want people to have the advantage because you use meter? It's a weird one.

I was honestly dealing with the same thing until I learned how to punish super dash consistently. The game flows differently once you prove to your opponents that super dashing isn't free for them.
I do the down heavy to punish it but it has to be timed right if you miss it you get fucked up again lol

Bardock and Broly just got leaked by Herms on twitter
As lame as they are they are good fits for the game. Might give Bardock a try but don't see myself touching Broly unless I really like his play style. This pretty much confirms the original leak and now I got to wait until the 3rd wave until I get Cooler.

It's all so very confusing.
Yeah people like to hit buttons. It's kind of insane just how much mashing is happening a lot of the time. When II pla someone new and have no previous indication of skill, I immediately throw out everything I've got that catches and punished Mashers. I don't bother trying to mix, I just run with frametrap pressure right away.

Unrelated, but I've been practicing various blockstrings into iADs with assist coverage, working on ranges what are somewhat ambiguous. Gonna be super important moving forward imo.

Also unrelated, but Kid Buu's 2m pulls the opponent towards you slightly on block. Do you know how much mileage I get in the corner off that? Lol. It's always risky to put yourself in the corner but it really sneaks up on people when you can get behind them in a situation where they think thier back is safe. I like to keep an assist handy in case they block me out thoght and use it to cover a jump.or dash to safety. Buu has more corner escape than some as well with his M. If I don't just iad back over them sometimes I'll super jump and M into ball or something to make it damn near impossible to pin me down reliably.

Kid is the most fun I've had in any FG in a long time. Super glad I didn't cave when my buddy wanted him. He's a little batshit/gorilla-y, but he can also be incredibly precise and exact in his movement and offense. His combos look swag as fuck too. I lose functional intelligence points though for trying all this time to extend his grab with an assist. I'm a moron and have been doing it wrong this entire time.. trying to pick up after l.grab with an assist then M into a JC.. when the entire time I should have been extending the opponent's air time with the assist so MEDIUM grab would combo off 2m, which allows natural followups without fucking the hitstun into the toilet or being half impossible to time/convert.

I really like Broly’s appearance/design in general, such a shame about his low-tier backstory and personality.

Anyways, my synergy is pretty sorted now, so unless someone from dlc brings something very special while also filling any void, they’ll have to wait for team 2. Got my eye on base Vegeta from a pure canon perspective, but he’ll need a godlike assist like his ss counterpart, which I doubt.

Interesting. I know the style of the anime is what it is, but I do hope we get some more visually diverse characters eventually. A lot of the cast is the typical Goku-esque archetype.

In the end I care more about what they do than how they look (provided they don't just look stupid/awful).

Im watching DBZ Kai so I can have some context/backstory stuff.. and I gotta say, Perfect Cell is kinda amazing. I dont normally watch anime's with English dubs, I watch with subtitles, but Im watching this while practicing and doing other things, so I have the voices on so I can keep up in a general sense.. and Cells cockyness and voice and the shit he says is hilarious. "That's it! thats the look!".

If you spark, you should super dash if you know the opponent isn't going to 2H. You get to cancel the dash directly into another normal.

Yeah Broly isn’t Goku-esque imo. He’s still Saiyan, but different look and fighting/power visuals. The first Broly movie is good, powering up animations are boss. Worst thing (as a Vegeta fan) is that Vegeta is frankly pathetic.

You can’t really get much more Goku-esque than Bardock tho. That said, his movie special is amongst the best. Think anyone who’s seen it can have a pretty good guess what his lvl 3 will be.

I really like all the villains (even Garlic Jr and the like), but yeah, Perfect Cell is right up there for me. Such a great story arc too.

I read that Bardock's lvl 3 is him going SSJ and doing some sort of rush down move. Kinda like SSGSS Goku's lvl 3.

Also every arc past the Frieza Saga in DBZ is shit imo.

Interesting if he goes ssj, the move is probably the one from the movie where he remembers Fascha etc. Builds up to pretty hype mega ki punch type thing.

Fair play, but disagree personally. Buu saga was probably my least favourite, but still had some of my favourite moments. And Buu himself is hype.

Android/Cell saga we’re better than Frieza saga imo, and I adore the Frieza saga.

Edit, sorry got a little off-topic, doesn’t belong in Super discussion either tho

I wish I could *love* my last pick as much as my first two. Like, 21 and Kid are just... MINE, but I haven't found that connection with my last pick. I've been maining 16 and I damn sure have no complaints about him or his effectiveness, and hes a lot of fun.. but I just don't click with him like I did my first two choices.

Hit the closest I've come, but he doesn't seem to mesh with 21 much. Kid does ok because he can cover Hit's pressure a little, but I've struggled to get 21's assist to really do much for Hit. I'm betting players better than me can get it done.. but..

I'd run Hit probably 2nd.. IF he meshed well with 21 and she could reliably extend his combos then I'd like to lead with him.. and I feel like this super important for him regardless though, to have the option to extend off an assist.

I dunno. I keep trying Hit and then putting him up for a while, but I just KEEP coming back and that's probably a sign.

I actually think I’ve finally found a 3rd that meets my ludicrously specific requirements. Frieza is seriously good fun. Setups and combos with qcbS are dangerous and swaggy. Ranged play is top tier. Assist extends Nappa combos anywhere. Gold Frieza is some serious gravy too.

So it’s Nappa > Frieza > SS Vegeta

There’s some real diversity in combo branching across the team, which was another requirement

See that's something I feel like my team is lacking, combo routes. Kid's assist doesn't extent really, it's more a lock down type, and 21's can extend but its tricky and only works in certain circumstances. Maybe I'll get it nailed down eventually, but right now it seems really finicky and inconsistent. That said though, Hit or 16 both add some extension ability to my team. I know 16's lets Kid work off non-H grabs into juggles and 21's will let me as well, though the timing is really bizarre and I haven't figured out consistency yet. Both also bounce for 21 and let her do a little bit more. But all in all, these are very "linear" paths in that they don 't branch much, they just let me bounce off a specific circumstance or situation.

It's really a bit of an issue if I want to run Hit - and I REALLY want to play Hit, because I don't have a great way to build combos out of my assists with him.

There is this weird, kind of direct thinking I see sometimes when it comes to team building where your point character is.. well, POINT and mid is MID and anchor is ANCHOR etc etc.. but the game is already evolving into something much more fluid than all that, though i still think having a strong "gimmick" with your point + assists is powerful, it gives you a good chance to snowball right out of the gate and make the other guy play catch-up the whole time.

I dunno.. Im kinda thinking out loud here - as I tend to do.

Hit gives me defensive options no one else has, and for what little Ive used him in the past, Ive made a LOT of use out of his counter. In a world of 37 min long blockstrings it's a super nice thing to have hanging out. His movement is Kid Buu like, only more grounded, in that by the simple act of attacking, Im ripping all over the place, with active frames and damage attached to it, meaning careless attempts to chase benefit me.. I *LIKE* that Hit stays grounded a lot, but I'm bad at situational combos and quick hitconfirms and Hit thrives on both of those things.

I feel like if I go with Hit, I'll be in for a lot of early frustration and my learning curve is going to tank.. I'll fall behind a good ways, BUT once I start to get better at him and everything else, I likely stand to be a better player in the long run. It also helps that he's incredibly strong and probably, if not top 5, knocking on that door. (AS THE GAME STANDS NOW - calm down). I didnt think that early on, but damn sure do now.

Since I dont have a great extension for Hit, I'd probably run him Mid, so I can make use of his 1 bar damage.. but.. who knows.

With all that said, Cell is legit cool AF from a lore perspective etc.

So I’m guessing the leaked dlc list is gonna be accurate? I hope so because I really want Vegito. Too bad there’s no Dabura tho

-Bardock
-Broly
-17
-Cooler
-Vegeta
-Goku
-Vegito
-Zamasu

I don’t know how to do the lightning legs loop. Haven’t looked it up just been trying it on my own, it looks so sick.

I dont think this confirms the leak yet. Broly and Bardock are very popular so it makes sense for them to be dlc. If we start to see base form vegeta, goku ,zamasu as DLC then the leak will be much more credible.

If the leak is true then Vegito and Zamasu will be the 2nd wave. I wonder if it will be Base Zamasu or Zamasu/Black Fusion. Also Gogeta > Vegito
