I really hope they release DLC characters soon. I don’t really wanna use Vegeta anymore but no one else really fits my team. Hoping Vegito is actually a DLC and he comes out first. I still wanna use Hit but still not experienced enough to use a different character yet.
No one has an assist that fits most teams like vegeta does. He's pretty much a staple on everyones team.

Seriously though... what the fuck is up wiith blocking just straight up not working sometimes?

Its the most noticeable after a blocked spark super dash. But i was just playing a match where a standing jab opened me up while i was holding back. Its super weird

Vegeta does have a good assist, albeit with very slow startup. But I do feel that he lacks as a character--poor range normals, projectiles are super dashable, TERRIBLE range on his 2H, no real mixup game, most of his specials seem punishable, etc.

I’ve experienced the same thing. It might be button input loss. I went back and watched the replay and played it frame by frame with the inputs shown. I’m clearly holding back but still get hit by a standing jab. Only explanation I can think of is as I said, input loss.

We're all from Earthrealm. If not, cool pic brah.

that's really wierd. You should put up a video of this man, it's something that should blow up so we can get it fixed

When I get a chance I will. Uploading to YouTube from XB1 is super aids now. And that’s where I’ve been playing the most because I for some reason like the XB1 controller over the PS4 controller.

If it happens again i'll toss up a vid too.

So.... at least at super saiyan rank, very few people mash lights and superdashes.. so the matches are way more fun.

I actually get to see some of the tech people have with characters besides blue headed troll dolls, which is cool. But like.. ive never played a good majin buu

Just when i think there are like 3 or 4 OP characters, i see some tech with more where i'm like, wow thats ridiculous too. Characters dont seem as OP by comparison anymore. Except Goku Black. F that guy.

Also it seems alot of light light light strings have gaps after the 2nd hit.

Anywho, majin buu seems to be like the only character that isnt super good. Hes like the potemkin

I think Buu is decent, but doesn't seem that he's particularly amazing. It's worth mentioning however that Dogura put him in the highest possible tier, next to Hit, 16 and Kid Buu.

WHAAAAAAAAAA!?! I just turned dark Orange!?! WOOOO OOOOOO! So thats why im facing pink squares now! OOOO Nappa Nappa Nappa BabY! Welcome to the damn team!

Defense has gotten MUCH better since my last slump. NOW im trying to utilize the reflect. That shit is soooo fucking difficult i hardly see anybody use it.

Ok Buu actually has a vortex

end combo in buttslam and assist call extension into this

the setup leaves them in transition state
you can hit them low when they're still airborne
and you ignore reflect if they tech down and mash it out
if they tech down and reflect, you're still at advantage
and you get a high low

this 8bit dbfz ass quality gif doesnt make it easy to see tho

Learning how to appropriately reflect is probably a good idea. I did 2M5M and cancelled into fireball spam with vegeta... dude reflected all of the fireballs and bopped me. I was like... "yoooo dats daigo?"

I cant get past dark green. Probably because i started like 3 and 35. I seem to play like all yellows now though

Click R3 on PS4 to watch the computer execute the combo. It’s a demo and it’s very helpful to understand the timing.

And don’t get hung up on those combo challenge tutorials man, they’re far from optimal and very few of the combos they ask you to do actually follow the typical few combo paths that most characters use to optimize damage. That mode is fine for just getting bare bones familiarity with inputs and timing, but that’s just simply not stuff for the most part you’ll want to do in game.

I get the sense you are very new to fighting games and I strongly recommend you spend some time watching high level play. A lot of top players offer lots of helpful advice, and you can soak up a lot of useful stuff and tech.

Don’t bother with the dumb combo challenges other than grinding Zeni, and instead go into the lab and grind execution on the bnbs for characters you’re interested in. Then play the AI and really learn how to move with IA dashes, double jumps, and all that. Figure out what to do defensively, get a feel for the flow of matches and how assists are used, and hip online and take your beatings.

Find small victories within defeats. Like, land a full bnb off a stray hit, react to super dashes with 2h and make people pay. You’ve got to be methodical if you want to truly improve. A lot of people will play for hours on hours but they won’t improve much and develop terrible habits that may beat absolute scrubs and mashers but fall apart against even mediocre players.

Lastly, make friends and get games and get feedback.

Have fun man!

She is. She's very much worth it. She a very very unique character.

Great mid range normals. Her standing mid hits just out side sweeps range or low hit range so just hitting standing mid is just enough of a poke to get yourself started or getting yourself out of pressure.

Awesome 2m that can go almost full screens like Kid Buu but doesn't have the capabilities to track the opponent to you like Kid Buu. Even though it's extremely good to use has a mid range poke and interrupts other normals and special moves and pokes assists out of their rush so it's by far one of her top normals.

Her special ki blast hits are amazing. I think by far. The best in the game. Hands down. Her light is a regular ki blast. Her mid hits on a angle in the air so it can be used as and AA, and has a combo extension in the corner or mid screen to call in a assist, lvl 1 or lvl 3. Her heavy just shoots stright but adds damage but has bounce properties so there's a ton of things you can do but that's not all.

Her Hors d'oeuvre stab 214 L, M, H is beautiful. With heavy attack you gain bounce properties but at the cost of 1 bar off your ki by using Heavy attack. This move can be done in the air and is great way to extend combo's into a lvl 1 or lvl 3. I'm not sure if it's safe on block but I know the radius of the hit can also hit the opponent if your wiffing the move so I have labbed which means I can fake out a iad or dragon rush because they are still in block stun. I haven't seen many other 21's use this move.

Now to her most special and important moves Connoisseur Cut or 236S & 214S. This is her absorb move. And it's her key move. Hold on. This is kinda complicated but it's easy to understand has you start to learn her in the lab.

Connoisseur Cut is a move that can absorb a characters moves. It can also be done in the air.

So let's start with 236S first as this explaination will tie into her combo's all at once.

236S can absorb 4 groupings of all the characters in the game. Goku's Crew. Vegita's Fam including Nappa. The Androids and the Illegal Aliens. The move is also a command grab. So has any command grab in most fighting games it can be used within a combo OR has a tick throw! So basically you can use it on block and automatically input 236S to make you relatively safe has it cannot be reflected which is 4S. So throwing this move out in or at the end of a combo is extremely good. But there are certain times that you would not be relatively safe using this move has a cmd grab so keep that in mind.

Now in the air you gain an extra advantage. Once you input this move in the air you can now use yep you guessed it in the air BUT that not all! Let's say you absorb Goku or Krillin's move Solar Flare which is only a ground based move.

Connoisseur Cut let's you use this move in the air now. Nice huh. Well let's not stop there. You see can link these stolen moves together. Which gets you a free teleport of sorts.

This I'm still kinda figuring out myself so I hope others who read this will correct me but let's say you have Goku's Kamehameha attack along with Solar Falre. Depending on the motions of the move you've stolen if you input let's say 236S which is your solar Flare IF you input 214S will say it's Goku's Kamehameha right after it will "link" together. Which means you can do this in a loop. As an added bonus you can also combo both air absorb moves in one combo but at the cost of 1 bar of meter. But you gain 2 moves that will generate meter faster and hopefully keep your opponent airborne longer DEPENDING on the moves you steal and combination of the inputs and moves.

As an added tip you don't have to keep the moves either. If yo want to trade up for a better move by simply inputting Total Detonation Ball 236 L, M, H you can fire a bigger, faster and more powerful ki blast at the expesnse of getting rid of set stolen move. This also gives you great juggle properties as well. Total Detonation Ball is is also a special move she has but remember. If you are fully loaded with your stolen moves and you input the heavy attack you will lose your stolen abilities so be careful inputting the move.

Her lv1 super Photon Wave 236 L, M, H or SA leaves much to be desired imo but is great for tag assist supers as it connects across the screen. Be mindful that it works ONLY at a fixed position on the screen at the lower half of the stage. Just at double jump hight.

Also her lvl 3 super 214 L, M, H or SA Excellent Full Course is amazing in the air to pull off if your losing the juggle on a combo or after a dragon rush or how ever you decide. It hits horizontal so be careful if you loose the opponent underneath you as the vacuum properties aren't as good as others.

Sweet Tooth 214 L, M, H or SA is her other lvl 3 and can only be done on the ground. But it's a bit special has I explain. It can heal you not by much but enough to gain back a good chunk of your bar if you have to heal. So for a lvl 3 that most of the cast has you gain extra health to your life by eating them. Just the same as Majin Buu & Kid Buu. So learning when to do this in the match and tagging out will increase your likely hood of survival more. You can argue your giving up a lvl 3 for a bit of life but count how many times you would waste meter trying to evade your opponent during the match or using vanish which half of the time you can't convert off from to the life you would get at the end of a characters life and tagging out to get more health and still dealing lvl 3 damage at the same time.

So I say yeah. Lab her. She really awesome to learn.

I beg your pardon, but to my experience the real Potemkin in there are Nappa and Android 16. Everyone is good with the right hands.

So if you have a rhyme or reason behind your team please share. What is it and what's your general overall gameplan?

For me I lead with 18 or goku black no particular reason for both I just like them
I picked up trunks for his range and overheads people tend to freeze more because of that low.
Finally I rock teen gohan mainly for the lvl3. And to extend to lvl 5.
I honestly just try and pick at your characters when I see an opportunity to dhc into gohans lvl 5 to finish you off I will. My biggest weakness right now is playing defense against a full health anchor with sparking. It's the main reason I'm using teen gohan when I see the chance to make sure all your chars are in one combo death I take it by any means. Plus trunks and gohans assist is pretty easy to combo off the raw over head or foward 2.
As you can tell I'm still pretty noobish so I'm looking forward to hearing your teams and strats so mine will improve.
