Some of Party Wolf's observations after playing the game at Strongstyle
Q: Did you get a feel for the Reverse Edge Mechanic?
A: Yeah, it isn't spammable at all. It's good for string defense though since a lot of characters got new & slow extensions off their pokes.
Q: Can you GI Strings? Like if Mitsu does AA can you block the first and GI the second? Or RE the second, or neither?
A: You can't GI Guard Breaks, Reverse Edges or Unblockables. Same with Reverse Edge, but you can RE them.
Q: Do you have a feel for how unsafe backstep is? The window for GI?
A: Probably slightly safer than 5s but not by much. Like I said backwalk can be cancelled instantly.
So GIs are + enough to let you mitsu 3B if they don’t re-GI. Another thing about GI is that it doesn’t beat break attacks, unblockables, or reversal edge. If you use a break attack you get a lethal hit, meaning it turns into a launcher when you read a GI/re-GI while being + on block. Mitsu and Sophitia’s are both mid so you can’t get baited too hard unless they sidestep.
When you soul charge lots of moves become break attacks that normally aren’t.
Sophitia gets 4AB 44AB 236AAB and BBBB where only the last hit is a break attack
Mitsu gets kB 66A+B 3BB as a break attack
Q: Were you able to input any sort of Wave Dash or Korean Back Dash?
A: Not one that’s any different than 5. Should note that twin angel step is no longer 236236. Just 2366
