This wasn’t necessarily a “good match”, but my read at the end made me happy. Really liking this team so far. I’m still doing basic combos and basic stuff but slowly learning as I go.

Many specials beat super dashes as well. All beams, big fireball specials (except Piccolo's coz fuck him i guess), air dragon rush if you're ballsy, many assists like Cell/Goku/Black/Hit/Tien/Frieza etc.
You can also just super as soon as you see the super dash for guaranteed damage, Hit's counter, 16's armor, Gotenks' beyblade etc.

It's still a shitty mechanic and I don't like it at all coz it makes the neutral kinda derpy but there's multiple options to beat it. Waiting and 2Hing is mostly like 10f+ delay matches.
My least favorite thing about is that it completely goes over lows, even the ground super dash just levitates over them which just pisses me off to no end.
It's already a tracking, safe dash with a hitbox that goes into a combo and goes through projectiles but whatever, beats lows too why not.

Almost want a crush counter mechanic on them so that these online casuals see that this is not how you're supposed to play.
I won around 5 sets today just doing Cell kamehameha into Tien assist back to back and all against Android/SS2 rank.
It's crazy that these guys can get this much mileage doing nothing but autocombos into tag autocombo and nonstop superdashes.
Yeah man.. ground superdash blowing up my lows is so damn frustrating. Im using frieza, android 16,and android 18. Maybe i should swap out android 18 for someone with a better assist i guess. Frieza and 16s seem to counter it decently.

I just feel like it has way too much utility... "oh he jumped, superdash. Oh he shot a projectile... super dash. Oh he press a button... superdash... oh he tried a low... superdash... oh he's waiting for me to superdash.... light light light light light light superdash."

I don't see the issue with the superdash. It's scrubby and annoying but I'm not losing because of it. If people like to do it on block then I usually just wait and take my turn after blocking it. Most of the ass kids that spam it don't even block so I usually open them up immediately.
What do you counter with on block? Follow up lights seem to out prioritize me if i block it.

Super dash is definitely really good. Even the “top players” agree it might be a little too good. But RAW super dashes are so easy to beat. It’s when they cancel into them as a frame trap or actually use them where they can’t really be punished is when the super dashes become... super good.

Although, 2H’ing super dashes is incredibly satisfying, lol.

Frieza is like the best character vs supedashes, stand H straight up beats superdashes, qcf S, qcb S, qcf L/M/H all beat it as well. Not to mention that he has the best down H in the game so you can do that easily, hell even after blocking the superdash his down H will beat almost everything they do.

18's assist has its uses for Frieza to absorb zoning but my advice is swap your order. 18/16/Frieza I think would be the better order, Frieza's assist is good for airdash cover and it beats superdashes as long as you do it a bit early.
Frieza/18/16 if you want a more zoning oriented order to help Frieza play his fullscreen game and then have an up-close assist with 16's for some cover and OTG pickups.

Your mothers main.
1.Learn optimized combos with three characters..

2. learn how to use assists to extend combos and cover yourself for getting in

3. Enter a match

4. Lose to light light light light light superdash light light light lught light superdash light light light light superdash.

I know 2H beats it. But it out prioritizes everything. I dont get it. Are you supposed to just do nothing and wait to press 2H the whole time?

Game would be 8000000000 times better without auto combos and if superdash was like -15.
Game would be so sick if you could only use super dash maybe in combos or its was unsafe, the auto combos I dont really care about but they are pretty lame though. I am sure though in a couple weeks of play everyone will get used to the dash though and it will be a non issue.

My first venture into online casuals this evening and I'm catching Super dashes and turtles everywhere.

The super dashes usually eat at 2M full combo punish. The turtles are a bit more tricky. Mostly I've used dragon rush to keep breaking their guard which has been effective. Need to work on getting comfortable with these overheads tho.

Air movement is going to be such a big thing in this game. Back jumps into air dash forwards into overhead is good at catching people off guard.

I'm begging to get out of the sewer that is the bottom ranks so I can play with people who don't just press buttons because their sugar high tells them to then I can start practicing some meta strategies.

I miss the NRS lobby system. Going through the lists and getting to pick people with high win ratios to FT10 all night long.

Slightly off topic, but I wish half these Youtubers would just stop posting combo videos that don't include notations.
Play it at .25 speed, it's really easy to breakdown since we don't have tekken movesets

Is there any frame data available for this game yet?
Not yet. Gonna have to wait for PC to break it down or for someone to translate the Japanese guide that apparently contains the data

Ah! So I finally finished story mode and unlocked Android 21 (and SSGSS Vegeta by hitting the Zeni threshold). Time to go to training mode with 21 to see what she's all about.

Ok. Changed and put 16 on point with frieza 2nd and beerus third. Working MUCH better using those two assist to cover super dash spamming and 16s 2H blows it up too.

Yeah, thats super odd... like... the lobby you are in can fill if you're in a match and then kick you out?

Lol... they've never been great at match making and lobby systems. Guilty gear was super weird finding matches too.

Dealing with super dash and auto combo spamming fine now... but i still feel like superdash can invalidate good movement too much. Movement isnt as critical as it typically is in anime games... which is too bad.

Ideally you wanna get 4k meterless, this is easily done if you start with a medium, starting from a light will make the same come get around 3.2k or so, so in theory if you wanna get max damage try to leave out lights till around the 10th hit or so, their scaling is too fucked up.
With bar you should getting around the 5/6k mark depending on the character.

I agree the whole EX into vanish into supers is trash, that's just for style or if you want to combo into a tag/dragon rush for snapback.

Combos with vanish can be good but they're usually only good if you're comboing off a projectile/beam or say your character doesn't have an air super, in some cases it's good if you're getting an extension way after you used your launch as well such as doing an air combo with Cell into his teleport into vanish for an extension.
EX into vanish is pure trash don't use that.
Thanks for the tips on combos and combo scaling. I squeezed out an extra 700 damage on my normal combos with those tips!

None that I can find.

It's embarrassing at this point that fighting games are even released without this. Street Fighter V now actually having frame data... There's no excuse anymore. Low Effort Incarnate now has frame data- but we don't have it here where they at least pretended to give dam... :____;

Well frame data definitely isn’t as important in this game, to be fair. So many things that are negative can be covered by assists or special/2H/superdash canceled into.

Just test stuff in the lab. Be thankful you have a good training mode. I come from a game that didn’t even have one let alone have frame data available, lol. The dark ages!

You know me as RisingShieldBro online.
two questions:

What's the best way with dealing with sparking blast lvl 3 super dash?

When do you apply light attacks in a match? I find myself constantly using medium attacks because of their range and mashers murder me for trying to stagger lights.

This game is crack. I keep playing for hours and hours and it feels like minutes. Probably done for now tho, this game takes a toll on your thumbs if you play on pad.

How do you know when it is your turn?
And once knocked down... What options are there besides tech rolling and delayed. Are there wake ups?

I really want teen gohan upfront but I'm finding more and more that I switch in Frieza early vs good players. Teen Gohans lack of range is a problem. Also what do you do if the opponent mashes lights after a super dash I swear dH doesn't come out when they do that.
