Went to sleep early so I could wake up before work to play the beta on XB1. Matchmaking is working just fine. Already got some rage quitters and hatemail too, lol. Happening way more on XB1 than PS4, I love it.

That people are rage quitting and sending hatemail way more on the XB1 than the PS4? Why wouldn’t I point that out? Literally my first few matches I got both. How could that possibly bother you? Unless you are one of the rage quitters or hate mailers, lmao.

It's changing to orange. That means that you're upgrading there to become more dangerous for those scrubs.
I wonder if they will have an explanation on the squares exactly since there seems to be more colors/shades of colors in this game than the other arc system games.

Hmm, I’m searching for geeen bar and above, and keep getting matched up with yellow and red bars. Very weird.

I don’t see any benefit from you responding to it either. See how that works? This is the general discussion for the game. You’re going to see pointless posts. Most posts in here aren’t “beneficial information”, lol.

Idk why you have a problem with me pointing out rage quitters, seems like valuable info for those that haven’t got a chance to play yet so they know what to expect.

Used Cell and Frieza for the first time today in the beta. Wanted to switch up my team and take full advantage of the beta. I noticed that these 2 and Kid Buu are much different than the saiyans as far as manual combos are concerned. You can’t do every characters combos the same way. For instance a very basic combo for Goku I was doing was 2L, 2L, 2M, 5M, j.c L, L, j.c L, L, 2H, Super Dash, L, L, j.c LLL (auto combo finish into HKD) into otg super or setup.

You can’t do that same combo with these 3, you have to change it up. So there’s not universal manual combos. I kinda already knew this since I have been using Kid Buu, but thought Kid Buu specifically was just different. This is good news and probably already know by everyone, but it was interesting to me since I wasn’t fully aware.

Also, Frieza’s S spam is amazing. You can actually combo it if you hit them in the air. I think I got 3 repetitions in for like 16 hits, lmao.

Im excited to try out the beta, this will be the first time Ill get some solid time to just mess around with the game. Any suggestions on what characters I might be able to pick up quickly?

Hmm ok so, long post incoming. After hours of labbing.
Gotenks actually has 2 different level 1s. They just look exactly the same.
One releases 6 ghosts and they go off immediately and you can't control anything, the other releases 4 and it's a lot like Menat's V-trigger, they stay in place as long as you're holding the buttons (1 ghost per button) or if you weren't holding said button they'll go off once you press the button.

If you dhc the 6 ghosts version they stand on screen, they dissapear if you dhc the manual version.

You can combo off the manual version, Menat v-trigger style, like do M then let go of L for ghost then continue.
Having this super on screen uses up your smash effect straight up, can't do 2H/5H, specials that have smash or even vanish so you can combo but you won't any big combos.

Other tidbits:
Gotenks 2L is actually a low so from what I've tested he's one of the few characters with 2 lows (2L and 2M).
Gotenks can hold his 5H and he'll wind up his hand, the longer charge makes it go further.
His autocombo is a headbutt ender, on block he bounces back just like a blocked super dash.
His Donut assist also uses up the smash which is disappointing, it's still a great assist but this means conversions off of it won't be worth much unless you spend bar.


Messed with Tien as well, he's mixup heavy and that's about it.
His 2L is also a low.
He has his volleyball slide special. L is quick and M has a guard point at first and has way more range, like almost Beerus 2M range.
You can press H to Ex any of it's 3 parts, it goes low>launcer>Spike down. Ex the start and it's a grab instead of the low. Ex the launcher and you can do your own combo instead of the regular ender. Ex the ender for a hard knockdown.
Doing the special in the air does the spike on it's own. L combos but it's a techable knockdown, M is slow so it doesn't combo, EX is a hard knockdown.
He has an overhead kneedrop special (214x) that bounces him on block for air shenanigans after but very open to 2H without assist cover. On hit can only go into supers, vanish doesnt work. Also couldn't combo into it at all so it's just a mixup tool it seems, but it's good for that coz you can do things like string > kneedrop > air dash mixup with assist or kneedrop > j.L
His j.L is multi hits as long as you're pressing, you'll usually only get 2 and 3 if you're lucky and very high up.
His auto combo is nice, 2nd part is 2 hits on it's own and 3rd part is 9 hits, very nice for hit confirming.
His command grab is nuts, can't do anything after unless you spend another bar for vanish or super but it ticks off of everything except the heavies, just cancel into it and it'll work. even works off of 5h but only in the corner or point blank range.
You can't cancel into chiaotzu special off of strings, has to be done raw. It has blockstun so it's a nice tool to cover your approach and you get to keep your actual assists. On hit you can do super dash fullscreen and it'll combo.
It has a stupid gimmick where every 3rd use will fail where chiatzu appears behind the enemy and Tien yells at him, you are stuck during this nonsense and fully open to get punished....
Chiatozu super is an actual grab which is nice, you can't jump after the flash or vanish but if you have a super that's invincible from frame 1 you can do it to punish/inturropt.
Also can only be done raw.
Shin kikoho deals real damage not blue, you can go down to the last pixel but you won't die, if you don't have enough health to sacrifice you can't do the extra kikohos. I thought it was blue so my plan was to have him last and blow all bars with it then sparking to heal but they saw it coming I guess LOL.

Played about 6 matches and Im loving it so far thanks for the advice about Goku. Im running Goku, Kid Buu, Cell in varying order since with the beta I can only “lab” with Goku. Any tips for Kid Buu’s combo path?
