Anyone have tips with jumping after the launcher? I have everything turned off and I'm trying to follow up with an air combo.

I leave auto super jump on as it will follow if you hold Heavy as the launcher follow through. You can also try just holding up as you hit your launcher, your character should super jump follow up.

Beware my power.
Yeah I bet he gets some good chip damage off a time storm too. I also like time stone. I think it gives the most potential for mixups and mobility. Infinity storm combos are going to do a ton of damage even if you just do 18 Hard attacks into lvl 3 Hyper.
Yeah I play hawkeye/cap and they have very low mixup potential to begin with so that's ultimately why I use time stone.

I'm unsure how to use reality storm, sometimes when I press buttons the elements come out, sometimes it doesn't, can anyone explain what's going on?
Hitting Lp shoots a tiny shitty projectile, Hp shoots that horizontal flame pillar, Lk shoots ice across the ground that freezes on hit, Hk shoots down lightning. Only one can be active at a time but it's pretty broke. You can pretty much put them in endless pressure. The fire/lighting/ice will be covering you all the time even if you aren't doing it on purpose. You can learn how to convert off each situation with whatever character you want but even if you drop a combo it's not a big deal cause they still have to respect you till the storm is over.

So I'm thoroughly enjoying this game much more than Injustice 2 right now. It's so fun, definitely a little faster but not CRAZY overpowering fast once you learn what is going on. This is my first serious try at a fighter outside of NRS and I'm enjoying it.

How do the OTGs during combos? Also, what do ya'll practice in the lab? I'm lost as to what I should be doing. My team is Thanos/Dormammu with Soul Stone of that helps.

BnBs, conversions and your team specific pressure/mix stuff would be where I would start. Hit confirms should be up there, but from what Ive played, *most* stuff is easy to confirm.

and yeah, i said I was gonna wait, and I kinda am, but Im still labbing a little here and there on my 'borrowed' version and every couple days I go to my buddies and play some vs him, or online. I'm trying to find this super fun, well designed, deep and eclectic game that so many people seem to be talking about.. but Im starting to wonder if when I hear people say "This game is super Fun! Its so Fun! Im having a lot of Fun!" if they arent trying to convince themselves more-so than others.

I will say this though, Ive seen some of the mid level and up matches slowing down some - in a good way. Its less mashfest and a little more measured on both sides which is good to see. This game should be insane, but theres a difference in good crazy and just plain crazy.. and occasionally the game kinda hits a stride and it is *is* enjoyable.. this happens once in every 25 or so matches when you play someone who isnt playing the same 6ish characters and spamming reality stone like a jackass.

Meanwhile, BlazBlue: CF is fucking incredible.

Yea if you've never played this then you can look at it and go "wtf is going on?", but once you play it the game becomes clear. I'm also enjoying this so much.

Like @EntropicByDesign said, practice bnb's,resets, etc. Also an otg here are possible after many things that cause a hard knockdown, but I would start with the easiest combo wise and do the magics series in the corner then otg your opponent again. So in the corner launch them after a combo or raw, do lp,lk,hp,hk, and you'll bounce your opponent down and you will also be thrusted down, the hk causes a hard knockdown in that combo so from there try doing a crouching lk into launch again.

Thanos isnt my usual kind of character but he's pretty interesting. Hits HARD and he's got some mobility it seems like.

I wish Zero didn't have that damn charge mechanic. I get it, I just don't like it and I feel like it kinda jacks things up needlessly in a game that's trying super hard to be accessible..I get that it's meant to balance out some of what Zero can do, but they could have made it a passive timer attached to a special move or something, like, say DP input any button and you start the charge, then you double tap the same button to release the charge, or something. I dunno. Just whining because my fav character isn't someone I want to out the time in to learning.

So..

Thanos
Gamora (this bitch is a little broken Imo)
Dante
Zero
Nova
Capt. Marvel
Jedah
Hawkeye

And I feel like I'm missing someone.. but these characters all interest me in some way or another.

Thanos is really only good for hitting hard imo. His projectile is alright and he has an armored overhead but his neutral is kinda eh. I'd just tag him in for the damage.

Nova is really good but if you can't do flight/staircase combos don't bother

I picked up Jedah a few days ago and he's easily my favorite to play. He feels weird at first but I think he's the most fun character to play. He's not too hard either.

Hey @EntropicByDesign did you ever find the solution to your legacy stick for this mvci? Are you going to go with the Brooks converter?

I haven't decided yet. I'm in a weird spot with MvCI right now, I basically have s pirated copy on my PC to practice on and I go to a buddies to actually play, but I use a pad there right now. I hate using the pad, as stick is way more comfy for me and feels more fun to play on with MvCI - weirdly, NRS games are the only ones I prefer on pad. No idea why, tried stick with them and dislike it.

When/if I buy the game, I really should buy it on PS4 because that's where the population is, and I will probably just get a converter or stick to pad and hope for a patch/update that adds legacy support.

I'm still kinda waiting to commit the 60$ to MvCI, I have a total of 8 rescue/foster cats (on top of my own cats) that all need, or will need, *something*, and I REALLY want the game now, but can't risk spending any extra money I have them all situated in some way or another. 60$ isn't much granted, but sometimes cash is tight lol.

Alternatively, I could buy on PS4 and then down the road buy a new stick entirely..it seems like, moving forward, this legacy issue is only likely to get worse work fewer games including it. The qanba Dragon is a beautiful stick. But it's also super shitty to just replace a q4 that's in perfect condition with barely even a scratch. It's flawless, and dropping 300$ to replace something that works and looks just fine rubs me all kinds of wrong.

OR I just replace the board. Brooks makes universal boards and my q4 has the usual universal Sanwa stick and buttons, so it should be a cinch to wire up a new board and just convert the stick I have that way. That's less glamorous than a whole new stick but cheaper and not much more expensive than a converter.

OR

I could get over this weird aversion I.have to buying and using a damn converter. =\

Does a stick help or hurt for this game ey?
Seems pure preference. I find stick more fun/comfortable and if you were to play Zero, I'd imagine that his charge mechanic would be a little trickier on pad.. but when I play I kinda swap between the two, at least for practice, pad only at my buddies when i actually go online, but other than comfort and preference.. I don't see either being "better".

Also, my team is going to be Jedah/Spidey. Want to buy this game because contrary to my initial thoughts, it IS pretty fun, but the dlc pricing turns me off to.. this game will cost me about 140$ and that's encroaching on bullshit territory

(Game for 60, converter for 40 + shipping, dlc pack for 30)

I play purely on pad on a Hori Fight Commander 4. I've been able to do just about everything i wanted to on Pad including character missions.

Like Entropic said, more complex input characters like Zero might be better suited for a stick. But it's all pure preference.

Would you happen to know how many web swings in the corner can you do in one combo? Most I can get with spidey is 3.
