Funny, as often as they happen, TYM has never been worse off as a result of someone who writes these "fuck all you I'm out" posts leaving the community.

If top players don't wanna play you it's probably for one of two reasons.

They don't like you, or they don't respect you. This post makes me think it's both. There's not some grand conspiracy to keep the little man down, if they enjoy your company they'll put up with slightly sub par play, and if they respect your gameplay they'll put up with your shitty attitude if it helps them prepare.

@FinalBoss_FGC a long time ago back in mk9 days when @Pig Of The Hut was making a lot of top 8s and top 3s I was invited to an Xbox 360 party chat by a mutual acquaintance and at the time I was playing Kenshi and before that Sonya and mileena so I had watched a lot of pigs matches. I asked him if he would play and critique and show me meta for the characters he was better at using. He didn't know me from Adam and already had a line of D riders and he actually left a king and played me for about an hour .

What I'm getting at is that while I feel like there is a lot of truth to better players wanting to play with other top level players it doesn't mean they will not ever play you either. You have to see both sides. While people like forever king are used to playing labbing and learning one way others including top players feel like they learn and improve the most when playing the highest competition. Couple that with being well known and there is a lot of players who want and ask for games you simply can't accommodate everyone all the time and still have enough time to get the games in with the players you want to play to improve your own game.

I know that is a part of it because if I get online I can have 5 or 6 people wanting games or a runback so if that's me I can imagine what a msg inbox looks like when your placing top 8 frequently.

I don't condone putting someone down for wanting games either but Brady stirred up a whole lot of shit with his video and while it exists it's not fair for someone who is low level to mid level to be entitled to long set with anyone. Also to the Brady point I turned off that video a ways in because the crap he was crying about he would tirn right around and do it to someone he didn't think was "worthy"...

Dude, you can drive 3 hours in any direction in EU and be in another country. They don't live too far away from each other and the scene isn't nearly as big. You think they never played top EU players?

You are wrong lol. Distance is relative. 3-4 hours for someone in the US might not be far, but people in Europe aren't used to traveling those distances.

Idk I feel like for so many when they say "Grind" it means vastly different things

A lot of top guys that say grind implies playing for hours each MU and testing their lab work while training their instincts and finding new situations to address in their game

Other guys just think playing 10 hours a day w no purpose is grinding

Or worse, their purpose is just misguided. You see this a lot, when people are like "I played only using [insert move] to figure out how to use it!", Which is a really limiting and weird way to train that I can't imagine pays dividends.

Mindsets and thoughts about the game separate the wheat from the chaff, but most people don't seem to get that.

Everyone in this thread said it already and theyre right. To be honest you just need to learn matchups. You don't have to fight the best Superman in the world to know the Superman matchup, you can lab alot of situations in training mode yourself then test them out in real matches against a few different Superman mains on TYM. That's all you need really

All I hear from tom is "I gotta play Theo where is Theo will Theo play me while he's on his plane to Austria".

I will legitimately 30-0 Tom Superman vs Sub and i'm home. Idk why he has to play the absolute best of each character. There are other options.

Well I slightly disagree w this a little:

For example ZOD, I realized in my games I wasn't doing for example a particular mix up w trait or wasn't using a recommended zoning trap from Dave. I made sure that night I focus on implementing that into my game plan to help the overall bigger picture

On MKX I played hella people on TYM but honestly for like the last 2 months of this game I've had pad issues and making excuses for it is getting redundant. I won Atlanta hometown heroes without a throw or interactable button. Once I get a new one finally on Friday i'll start playing more people on here if they're down. I have gotten in sets regardless with crazy fingers and swag mountains and a few others.

Shazzy is also ridiculous at this game if he'll give people on TYM games.

I do have to say, I've only played injustice 1 and 2 and using joker, there are match ups that are just too bad and the character does suck lol it's not an excuse. It's the legitimate truth. outside of injustice, some of the other fighters I played I could see your points being actual excuses players are using, instead of leveling up.

I'm talking about competitive play tho. I know that was a thing at high level in like 2013 but that shit is dead bro no one is getting top 8 at a premiere with just Bob the builder or joker.
