Tekken 7 General Discussion Thread - OP Updated With All Tekken Info

Normalize grab immunity.
Not that I know of. I've been just walking around them in practice mode. I see you in the lab on PSN lol.

I'll run some matches with you tomorrow. Bout to go to bed after 15 hours straight haha.
I'll just stick to playing with two controllers. I'm too impatient.

Looking forward to it. I'm at the point where normals come to me mid-match with an "aha! That would so help." Just need to keep playing so everything goes to muscle memory. Going with a new character to learn was a great decision. My second character is going to be someone I never used before too.

Plus on block.
Sounds like the perfect time to super.
Nah dog supers are OP that's why every tournament is won by the very unpredictable and hard to read supers that have no counters and are impossible to learn to deal with.

Might need to come back later and edit more sarcasm into this.

When I see someone go into rage mode I understand that they can armor through the gaps if I'm not careful so I usually sit defensively on my life lead and wait for them to expose their own gaps while attacking me(if you're in rage then you only have one wrong move and you're dead), if they even try. If they don't I can't literally wait it out until the problem is over...

If I don't have the life lead then that means we're both in rage, so the gameplan is the same except once they fuck up I can Super them instead.

Pro-tip if y'all want a fast grind for a bunch of coins and gear in Treasure Mode.

Pick Heihachi and just spam Party Starter non-stop.

Went on a 28 streak doing that, more than half ended in perfects, only lost due to the second(or third I forget) boss Kazumi and her teleporting and laser shenanigans.

I'm on Steam and I really have to give Namco props here. Game runs great and the netplay is amazing. I have 0 problems finding a match. I'm really happy. I hope other devs take note.

More Ass and Tits for MK11
@myri yo let's scrub it up together, I really want to get into T7 since I've played every Tekken in my childhood for like days on end.
I wanna play it competitively though since MKX and INJ2 are my only games.
I'll be getting the game probably Wednesday

I'll be going through the new characters today and figuring out frames on block and tracking, maybe discover option selects for stuff like Kazumi's f3 into the follow-ups (going through her movelist right now). If you guys are interested I could stream it then talk through it all. Someone could write down the exact frames we find on notepad, that would be a huge help. We could then post the findings here and create threads for each character.

The way I go about this is I record "jab - tested move - jab". This allows me to get the exact start up and block frames down as well as attempt stepping/walking after the first jab is blocked to determine tracking.

With Kazuya we have i10-i15, i18, i19 and 20+ frame moves standing, i10-13 and i16 from crouch (ws1+2 is i12) So these are very good for determining the exact frames where it matters and the general area of frames for situations that are not as paramount.

Soooo... what do you guys think? Interested? I know everyone wants to play real matches but I am hellbent on figuring out the new BS first, or at least most of it during this weekend then refresh my memory every now and then in the future... then I'll transition into the returning characters.

I never make a good lab partner for anyone - at least not for long. I'm just too impetuous and I will never change. If I'm off, I can lab and figure things out early in the morning - but after that I just want to smash heads. I can teach what I have learned to new players, but to grind out the obscure aspects I can only do on my own and before the itch to smash comes.

Its a shame because I can figure things out very quickly when grouped labbing, but I just hate doing it.

So I picked up T7 yesterday, pretty excited to get into this series again since me and my cousins would play T3 and T4 pretty heavily as kids, just button mashing though but still fun. Now that I'm taking a more serious approach to this I was wondering what are the basics that I'll need to get started since the only fighters I've taken seriously since I was a child are MKXL and now I2. I think I've settled on Master Raven as a character to learn for now so yeah any advice on her and the game in general would be appreciated. How do I play this game is basically what I'm asking. I play on a pad too if that's important, I'm too poor to go buy a stick right now.
Tekken early on is about establishing something and playing off of it. As you progress, you will find that there are many things to establish and many ways to play off of them. Then, it becomes about remaining unpredictable and maximizing your opportunities, but never does it feel like work. It always feels like an expression of your creativity.

So last night...I was facing the srubiest lili player ever. She kept doing db 3 or whatever her launching sweep is....and I keep getting hit by it. I felt like I was blocking it each time but each time I was up in the air.

I was like wtf I always blocked this in ttt2.

Now i know why....

I absolutely loved ttt2 but this game is starting to piss me off. I can't block or punish shit.

PC version has the least delay (from what i can tell around 5 frames) and you can disable vsync (always on, on consoles) which also reduce input lag. Had no problems blocking Lili sweep launcher online. ;)
