Injustice 2's Biggest Downfalls, which could be easily fixed

@SneakyTortoise I know you can select your AI to fight your friends via private 1v1, and vice versa. Don't know about offline
Yeah, I'm not interested in the AI fighting other people. I want to be able to fight against them myself.

For example, if I'm struggling against a zoning style, I want to set deadshot to 30 zoning, 30 run away and fight against him myself so that I can practice against that style.

And then I could do the opposite if I'm struggling against rushdown characters too.

Can they attempt to balance the ability moves for competitive play? It would be A SHAME to let them go to waste. Honestly. This is my biggest thing by far.
Yeah it suck because you can tell they were thinking, "Well this MU is bad but if you equip these abilities it'll be harder for them to zone/rushdown making the MU more even."

I def feel it would allow for more individuality in play styles and even out tier lists.

I think the complaint thread gets overlooked or dismissed as senseless complaining, so I understand the need for this thread. I feel as though for the first time in NRS history most people are making genuine complaints about the game that need to be addressed. I believe it's because Injustice 2 has incredible potential, and people just want these problems to be fixed. Problems that are legitimate and not people just crying about zoning or 50/50's.

This guy knows what's up. I don't want to try player matches (also 90% of players I get matched with in player match decline for some reason unknown to me) to practice so I have to go in ranked with chars I might not be familiar with. And right on about the brother eye thing as well.

2. The input system
Yes !

1. There being no default competitive mode player match

This is the biggest issue above all else. And probably the easiest to fix.

I know a lot of people think that competitive mode should be the default mode in all online game modes in I2, and that stats/abilities should have to be opted in by both players. However, I can see why NRS didn't do this. People with competitive play in mind are the minority. Most people who bought I2 will spend lots of time grinding for the most powerful gear for their favourite character, and would not be happy with this being rendered useless by something that's at the mercy of their opponent.

But there's an easy compromise. Please give us a separate competitive player match mode where we can go in and find like minded players. One and done ranked matches are not an acceptable substitute. Saying "just add people who also want to play without gear" is not an acceptable solution; you can't always rely on people on your friends list being available to play at the same time as you, that's the whole point of player match rooms.
YES !

May the Elder Gods bless the OP.

Patch this NRS, hurry up !

Thank you for exposing these frustrating issues with this thread, honorable tortoise, please have my like.

So far, I'm loving Injustice 2. Imo, it is hands down the best product NRS has released to date. However, there are a few things that have caused me many headaches in trying to work out what NRS were thinking, and I know that many people agree with me. These are also things that I think there are easy solutions to.

Major issues:

1. There being no default competitive mode player match

2. The input system

Everyone is having issues here. Even with negative edge and input shortcuts turned off, it seems that the buffer window is far too big.
One example is pressing b,d,b can result in a backdash. Surely that should never happen?

Less Major issues:

1. Not being able to fight against AI loadouts

This probably isn't seen as a huge issue, but is a personal gripe of mine. Unless I'm missing something, there's no way to do this? I'd have thought that this would have been the source of inspiration for whomever designed this.

Surely it would be hugely beneficial, for example, to be able to set Deadshot to 30 runaway, 30 zoning and fight against that play style? I assumed I'd be able to do this in practice mode or player matches, but nope.

2. Gear/brother eye organisation

Getting past the annoyance of having to go through and mass sell gear items every now and again due to the awkward inventory management system, there's something even more annoying and unintuitive about the system.

It doesn't make any sense having the regen option in the brother eye section or not being able to preview items before selling/regenerating gear.

Currently, you have to go to customise character, find the gear you want to regenerate, note down their names, exit character customisation, go to brother eye, change tabs, find the character, try and remember whether you liked the look of Scarecrow's fortified scary pants of terror or his frightening pants of horror, realise you can't remember and go back and start the process again before realising you don't actually give a shit anymore.

Why can you not just press regenerate or sell item while actually previewing that gear item in customise character?

This is not a buff/nerf thread. Get out if you want to post about that.
I have never agreed more with a post, which leads me to believe that I've been cloned. Is this the work of science or the devil himself? Visit my website to find out!!! - www.blueballsforchrist.edu

Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
I totally agree with the op.

The input mechanics in this game are terrible. Absolutely no excuse in 2017.

No competitive mode in player match. People like mysef have big issues with this.

Player match should be automatic competitive default. As well as koth. Choose to have gear on. Not the other way around.

Rank should have 1st to 3 set in a competitive mode. 1 match games suck!

Where's the option to have the menu screen on during or after picking your character? This is super annoying when you want to switch inputs on like alt and most importantly button mapping!!!!! It's really NOT kool to quit out of a set to the main menu to correct buttons when they've already been mapped out.

Fix the issue of button load outs reverting to default!!!!! Come on man this was a big issue in mk9 & mkxl!!!

Training mode should have more details like:

Hitbox & hurt box shaders so you can see where your hits land & wiff. With clear markers to indicate contact in a different colour.

Visual outlines of interactibles like in mkxl. This was extremely useful in the game.

Pre recorded strings and moves that can be used so the AI executes strings, moves and trait so you don't have to always go in & out of the menu screen and record it yourself when it's just the basic string with no cancels.

More ai options for the ai to do commands, moves, strings after your testing reversals, push block, dashes & escapes. Air escapes are a must.

Input mapping in practice mode when practicing with an online partner.

Louder audio for character foot steps & air dashing.

That's all I can think of for now. Not much into the Mr. Dress up of gear and what not. But others are so I hope some good people at nrs take a quick look at the thread.

Will add in the input complaints. I thought I had negative edge on for a while, and nope. The game just decides when I'm trying to F1, 3, MBDB2 and when I'm trying to blow 2 meter on a bounce cancel that gives me less damage by the flip of the coin.

Besides the RNG, will add in a personal gripe that it seems like you get punished in Multiverse for not doing stupid. Like, sometimes I don't need an interactable in a match, but I'm losing points if I don't.

Just a note:

I've found that the points you get for completing matches quickly far outweigh the points you get for completing other goals. So now I stop taking time to go for a measly 10k or 25k here and there, and just finish every match as fast as possible (unless it's something that presents itself easily in the flow of the match).

I'll try that out, thanks for the heads up!
