I don't care for Zatanna, but I would've put her in I2 just because her moveset was so unique.

Already in the mobile game and looks fifteen times better than her I1 model.

Injustice already has several returning characters that are 90% the same as they were in the previous game.

Also, SF5 released without a complete roster, and 'DLC' is their way of filling it out. Everyone knew the characters weren't complete, because the game itself wasn't even completed. So again, a completely different situation.

Not to mention -- probably not a good idea to hold Capcom up as the shining example of public image :p

SF5's characters might be somewhat revamped, but Smash 4's returning DLC characters were all but copypasted from Melee. Roy handles a bit differently, but overall, he's more or less the same "here's a heavier Marth" character he was originally. I don't see anyone complaining about them, in either case. As I said, the diehard x players can choose to invest $5 for x if they're really intent on playing him, and the rest of the playerbase can take a pass. It seems pretty reasonable to me.

SF4 characters may not have been the same as SF3, but well, the opposite wasn't really true. Yun and Yang played more or less the same as they did in 3S when they were brough back for AE. If anything, that was worse, because if you didn't invest in AE, you weren't getting the accompanying title update. NRS has always been pretty good as far as never charging for title updates.

You're right about Capcom's PR being more than a little rough around the edges, but Nintendo hasn't had any serious backlash to Smash 4 DLC. On top of that, NRS is already likely to be eaten alive by the most complainy of complainers for deciding to have 9 DLC characters at launch, so well, I don't think that can get much worse with the inclusion of a couple returning characters. Those people are going to be bitching about it already, so I mean... How much worse can it get from a PR standpoint if they go from bitching about the DLC, to bitching about the specific nature of it?

Also, was it ever explicitly stated that SF5 was shipping with an incomplete roster? I don't think it was. All I remember hearing is that they wanted to keep the starting roster relatively small, which makes plenty of sense.

Zatanna and Batgirl are the ones I'm really holding out for. MMH would be neat to see back too, and I wouldn't mind Sinestro either (though I'm kinda hoping for Karu-sil as DLC instead).

I guess Grundy can come too.

Zatanna, but sadly I imagine Boon's 'no repeat DLC two games in a row' policy extends to Injustice as well.

She could even just be a model-swap for Fate, one of the premium skins, and I'd be fine with that.

Aside from Zatanna and perhaps Grundy. I'd say The Shade would be an interesting character to bring in. Not that many may know who he is.


Skip to about the 1:00 mark after the initial quote. Shady is not only a potent DC villain (In the comics more so than the shows) but he's also sharp tongued and snarky, which is always a plus.

Only character I would pay for is MMH or Lex. That's it, and that's only cause MMH was super fun and Lex was one of my mains and I will miss him very badly

I wouldn't mind. There's something very satisfying about playing a glorified human projectile like Doomsday...

Lobo is the only character that hyped me up in the first one.
from the character himself, too his playstyle hell even his back walk was a come at me bro gesture....man he was fun!

Harley got re-worked, and I'm sure there will be one or two more returning characters that have been completely over hauled. It be nice to have a re-worked Nightwing as a DLC.

In terms of characters I feel must/should return;

- Shazam
- MMH
- Lex
- Hawkgirl
- Raven
- Killer Frost (why firestorm and no frost?)

In terms of characters I want to return;
- Zatanna
- Batgirl
