As much talking as I'm doing here, I don't want a code nearly as bad as some others because there is no one for me to play. I wouldn't give away my code if I only had one, but I wouldn't go ham playing Superman or Atrocitus or whoever. I just feel like some of the actions taken are extremely suspect to say the least and that the MKXL beta was handled much better than this.

If TekkenMaster is being honest and saying Derek gave him one it isn't bad form. I applaud him if anything for being open about how he received it and not say a generic "one of my fans gave it to me" bs that I heard from someone else. He gets more props than anything.

its bad form because then derek will have his twitter raped with people sending him messages for codes and obviously he wont have a unlimited supply, sure hes already having his head wrecked enough for codes that boon said hed have some at FF. imo thats not nice if someone sorts you out to do them like that.

At this point out of principle, annoyance, and overall disgust in this beta handling I'm cancelling my $100 edition and getting the regular version. I'll learn DLC chars from fighting them unless I really love one. We out here supporting them heavily with $$$ and they cherry picking codes like its the second coming of Jesus if you don't pay $20 from "random unknown user who has a dozen".

It shouldn't be like giving gold bars from Fort Knox. Feel over it now. Salt overload. Hype turned into "at least I got one" if I ever get one like Ry said. Weak.

Why are people so salty about this? Just go play Injustice 1 and play Superman and Batman and boom, that's 50% of the beta. Like seriously though y'all need to chill out, acting like this is the end of the world and shit.

It's bad form to announce a 'open beta' but open is the least thing about it. I mean ABSOLUTELY no shade when I say this, voice of reason I am under the trolling, but use your head people. Nearly every relevant UK player or Streamer for NRS has a code. The Champion of NRS titles, his guild mate, his old teammates, both ESL US announces, Zod himself, The Relevant half of Yomi, The most relevant South American player (after the fact), Nearly every relevant NRS youtuber, and quite a few other somewhat notable personalities.

The term 'Hollywood' is accurate as fuck. No denying that. ACTIONS are louder then words. I agree and completely feel betrayed by this action @tylerlansdown System and meta wise this was the BEST move. Get the pros in and have them break the game. This is obviously an older build of the game, Supergirls face is proof of that. So yes, let the pros crush it and push the system before unleashing the gates and letting the wolves (us) loose, so that we can take what they and our leaders (and faces of our community) have created.

This is betrayal on a MORAL level. Not to casuals, no no, to the heart of their community. The ones that help bring drama and life to the game. The ones that watch every stream and tournament. The ones that really pay their champions, the ones that fly and drive to this tournaments , knowing on a subconscious level that their chances of glory are fucking nothing at all almost ( Sonic ) and yet still scream there heads off at every OH or counter anit-air d1's into unblockable setups. If it's not really open don't claim it to be. Then dont short change the community. Bad for moral and business.

Well the casuals hold the most weight as they make up the largest percentage of who buys NRS games. And most casuals don't care as much as the competitive players do about getting into the beta as early as possible because of a "head start".

And I don't agree that those who already pre-ordered should automatically receive codes. It's either random as they claim, or it's random plus they're hand picking players who are well known/top players. Their goal presumably is to try and actually get feedback on issues in the game but also promote the game. Most streamers got codes so it's safe to assume they were hand picked, but it's possible that it WAS random but I doubt it.

My point is they don't care about giving codes to die hard fans or those that pre-ordered. Those people are probably already getting the game regardless. This is of course assuming it's not all random as they claimed.

Why does the entire Top 16 of Inj and MKX have a code. I thought was random. That's kinda messed up. YouTube is polluted with beta footage from NEARLY EVERY TOP STREAMER AND NRS YOUTUBER. Check some of the comments. People are like...man I wish I got in...good thing blah,blah, blah, and blah blah' s sex dungeon got in or id be surprised the Beta was even out.

I couldn't watch K&M cause every other second was someone bring up Hollywood. I'm the Community Manager for Salty Mayhem. We run Akon Gaming. Google it. It's a Anime convention and the oldest in America. Last year we had over 350 SMASH players for a 128 man bracket. We're small but we work with VGP on such things as Absolute Battle with PandaXGaming. Markell is like my brother and they all do a lot for the Texas scene with @ATP2014 and others. When my.email blows up about beta codes and IM NOONE. That speaks volumes.

Think about it though. This doesn't just happen in the NRS scene. Most new games are released early to well known youtubers and streamers. It's essentially free advertising. But the normies also have a chance to get a code, so it's completely fine with me. It makes logical sense so I'm good with it.

I originally wasn't going to post in this thread bc almost everything was covered. But now im seeing people coming in here like they haven't read the thread and just saying everyone is just mad bc they didn't get a code.

The issue isn't that they didn't get a code.....the issue is that the beta codes were NOT DISTRIBUTED RANDOMLY. Like the others said before, if you were going to give it to a select few....keep it private. there is a difference between 'beta codes will be sent out randomly' and 'beta codes will be sent out randomly and we will give all the top players codes first'. You guys know it wasn't random.

Not saying that NRS should care about this, but its a legit concern and people should be able to talk about it. Ignoring the fact that top players were hand picked to play the beta is an issue. Personally im glad they got it. But dont try to pretend that it was random.
