So should we just not say anything and wait with our fingers crossed, hoping the game isn't a mess at launch? I dunno, doesn't sound like a fool proof plan to me.

Obviously screaming OP is dumb but it's better to point out potentially stupid stuff than to ignore it, especially with NRS' track record.
I think having concerns and freaking out like some of the people here are different things, but yeah I get ya. But at the same time I doubt they take too much into consideration of what we think cuz obviously we don't know match ups and frame data

Oh yea whining about it is totally better than just waiting. Makes us look real great as a community. Listen I understand the idea of trying to make sure we don't have dumb shit on release but EVERY game has dumb shit. We have to stop trying to be NRS's baby sitter on this topic. They are learning and they can balance by themselves.
I'm not whining, there's a difference between whining and giving feedback which most of this community just cant distinguish for some reason so genuine posts get written off as screaming and crying when that's not the case.

"They can balance by themselves", yeah sure they can buddy. You keep telling yourself that if it makes you sleep at night. Yeah every game has dumb shit on release but there's no harm in trying to minimize the damage.

Injustice had Scorpion and his teleport was stupid for a back to block game and they ended up ruining him because of it, of course there's going to be concerns if they're showing the exact same thing again without letting us know how they've tried to prevented the same problem as last time.

If we keep saying "they can't balance for shit, let's handle it for them" how the fuck are they supposed to learn? I can distinguish whining from legit concerns, and right now there's more whine than concern happening in this thread.

It doesn't matter what we say anyway they're still gonna do what they think is best. They've had 6 years competitive fighting game experience, competitors to compare their games to and so much community feedback it's nuts. Why don't you answer that question, how are they supposed to learn? Cause I have no idea.

If people don't voice their opinions though how are NRS supposed to know what the consumers truly want? If the balancing team can't distinguish between crying, jokes and legit concerns that's on them not us. I mean they buffed broken Quan when Dink made a "buff Quan" thread that was obviously a joke and they left it up until the last patch to finally do something drastic to the game, that people were asking for forever, and it was obviously too late by then.

And yeah there is plenty whining happening in this thread so go badger the people who are whining about it, not me.

Edit: It's sad that I even have to clarify this but obviously I love NRS games else I wouldn't be here. There's nothing wrong with criticism though, regardless of if it's futile or not, and some people need to learn that. I shouldn't have to punctuate every post with "btw I like this game" just so I can say a bad word about it without getting a bunch of butt-hurt, in-denial fan boys shoving their dick down my throat trying to stop me talking about their precious game.

They see me zonin', they hatin'
I know that I2 is in alpha stage but this gameplay made me worried about the balance.

- "Keep your opponent GUESSING"
- rear overhead teleport in a back to block game
- great zoning
- ice ball
- 2/4 screen shoulder charge
- half screen tornado that launches
- triborg's f1,3 string
- a string that has either overhead or command grab in it that launches for 1 bar.

I disagree, like @The_Tile said, NRS's track record isn't good when it comes to these things. These are the same people that thought Giving scorpion (who already had an insanely good j3 and backdash) a teleport that ignores the fundamentals of the game was a good idea. The lets wait and hope approach doesn't work with them most of the time.

So why is the tele a problem now lmao
Cause people are stupid and forgot. Or didn't see players posting about it on twitter. Yes it was a high and an OH in the beta as well.
Also people complaining about her Zoning it seems like her lasers only work when in trait. We have no idea how many she can use during trait. We just know the walking laser depletes her entire trait. We donm't know how long it takes to come back either. yall need to calm the fuck down. Still have a shit ton more characters as well.

People love to winge and moan

If there is nothing they will find something. We all have egos, we all want to say "See, look, I told you it was broken, I knew it"

But they really can't balance for shit, dude. Let's be serious. Hopefully they continue to learn and improve, but from what we've seen, they just do whatever the Hell they want and pretty much tell us to deal with it.

I wonder if in the future nrs will take capcom's approach and let their games last more than two years alive.
Sf4 was released in 2008 and was alive in competition until sf5 release in 2016, that's 8 years of constant evolution that enriches the game.
SF4 did not last 8 years. It lasted two, then was replaced by Super, then AE (which was FUCKED balance wise) and finally died as Ultra. Each one required a $15-$40 rebuy in by the ENTIRE community.

Where was the capcom approach for marvel and sfxt and tvc?

Balancing a game is really hard. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Realistically we should learn to deal with some of the stuff on our own. Let the meta evolve and see if anything changes. If you have the same results 3 tournaments in a row basically then at that point you need to consider okay ya this is bad. But if you have a top 8 of 8 different characters thats very good. Even if the people are the same those 3 events if the characters are different thats pretty decent. Its better than seeing a top 8 of the same character.

The meta never really having a chance to evolve is probably why their balancing capabilities aren't the greatest. People cry foul before the meta is fully established and patches get thrown out like candy.

It doesn't help that they probably have a time frame in which they have to patch stuff before they cannot anymore. They have other projects to work on. Unlike capcom who is investing a lot into SF5 and have a group just to work on that. When they buff and nerf a character it may seem like a good idea and if they test it, it may seem to work. But they cannot always log in infinite time with a character. Like the B1 change to mileena. She is still a strong character even without it. Jasons buffs where too much cause they probably didn't realize how strong a -2 d1 would be at the time. Things like that. Also some characters just have horrible designs at the start and cannot be fixed no matter how many buffs/fixes they get. Not every character can be a winner and people need to understand that.

Well, then mkx died when mkxl came out, right? Mkxl could be seen as Super mkx.

I don't agree with capcom dlc policies, but I agree with not throwing their base game out the window after two years, leaving it half done and launching a new one. And the cycle repeats.

Dankster Morgan

It is better this way
She sounds way more MKX than Injustice 1.
How though? The already confirmed returning characters(Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley, Aquaman) are similar to their Injustice 1 versions. The Flash is also confirmed and even though we haven't seen any gameplay of him yet I'd imagine he's in the same boat. And there's gonna be WAY more returning characters yet to be revealed who will like that too. So we have about half the cast who are gonna be more or less the same as the game everyones been jizzing about.

I get that you mean her specifically rather than the whole game but still we know almost nothing about her.

In Zoning We Trust
Yeah but is that a good thing or a bad thing that the other characters could be even worse than this? Its just as bad having two dumb characters as it is having one and I don't think its a bad thing that people are voicing their concerns.

NRS should have a balancing team who can use their own initiative and distinguish between just crying and genuine concerns. I mean, everyone makes mistakes and I get that they're just human, but three broken games later and we're still getting, what appears to be, the same stupid stuff in the game. Literally the same mistakes as past titles.

I dunno, hopefully someone brought Paulo some new glasses for Christmas, his vision is obviously not getting any better.
As bad as what? What have we seen that can be considered bad? A 2min trailer on one character? It takes more than that to deem anything bad. What if all her specials and strings were -45 on block and -65 on whiff? Every single one. Would she be top tier? The new standard of dumb characters? No one knows anything but are making all these assumptions like "S Tier broken omg" and "this game is gonna be so broke". It's even worse this time around than pre-MKX and we haven't even gotten close yet. Your constructive criticism posts will be lost in a see of endless whining.

I don't know what the game will play like or what the balance will be, but I do know there's no way I can get alarmed at one character who did 2 strings and some specials. It's absurd. Like ban worthy levels of bad posting. Game could release and she could be bottom 3 or top 1. I'm just not seeing how a 2min demo has people assuming broken. I can point out plenty of seeming weaknesses I saw. For example-

-Deathly slow walk speed.
-Insta-Air won't be a factor due to heavy air laser recovery.
-OH Tele looks super punishable.
-Lasers Trait charge slowly.
-Air Dash may have been removed.
-Etc

Can't judge a character 4 months before a game even releases. It's unheard of.

Back in Injustice and MKX we were breaking down each of these trailers look for what we could see from characters. It was exciting. But I can already see instead for Inj2 it's gonna be epic levels of crying on each character release.
