Cyrax is dirty. I have no idea why someone would say he is bad/
he's just still developing. When the meta of a game changes, the more complicated characters take a lot longer to adapt to that meta especially when the meta changes so drastically.

i know that feel. Leatherface knows that feel.
Yo! your leatherface helped me in a match today I would have gotten mopped if I hadn't had that experience previously.

I played a Cyrax who was abusing whiffing the air grab to get in on me in neutral. He would whiff it and then go with the kicks that are plus and I couldnt get hits in between.

Really that actually helped? Huh well I'm glad!

I see a lot of downplaying here. Most character don't have forward advancing mids so I wouldn't call this a weakness. Cyrax bombs seem like a legit strategy in the neutral, they force the opponent to move or stay blocking. Whiffing air grabs seems like a legit tactic with ridiculous recovery and I think foward 1 or 2 is a fast forward advancing move that is like -2 or 3 so it can be easily staggered and there is also those kicks that are foward advancing. D3 is a low profiling good poke. I really don't understand what the issue is with his neutral.

D3 is not good on cyrax, the range lets it down heavily.

You can't stagger F1 it's a high and you can't stagger F2 because even though it's a mid low profiling usually happens.

F43 is a noob trap and anyone with experience in the matchup will get a D2 punish minimum. Cyrax's best option in this instance is F4db1 but this is minus so not exactly "pressure"

The bombs in the neutral are good but I wouldn't expect someone to hold a b1 from full screen just because you did a far bomb, opponents can just walk backwards then quickly block the bomb when they know the match up.

Play against a good Sektor or Smoke and you realize just how disadvantaged Cyrax is in the neutral. Luckily he has a crazy good Oki game and with it great damage which is where his strength lies.

Why can't you stagger F1? Isn't that the one that has a low kick follow up? So you go F1 and throw or backwalk into a whiff punish or you complete the string. F43 is not easily reactable I see top players in streams get hit by it a lot just don't abuse it. Besides these mind games you have the bombs and net. Cyrax is a solid good character not broken not op but a solid mid tier. You wanna know what a lackluster neutral is go play Warrior.

What are you smoking?

Neutral isn't the whole character, its just a part of the game not every character should have a good neutral.

I'll ignore the F43 comment because you put "top players in streams". If Sonic is ducking smokes mid-high string in tournament and forcing scar to stop using it then you can see how moves like this have massive disadvantages and should be used sparingly.

F1 "on block" into throw is good, assuming the opponent isn't already mashing a low poke to make the high whiff. But standing 2 on block into throw is also godlike, as is d3 on hit into throw.

There is no mind games with bomb and net.

I can't speak on behalf of warriors neutral but b2 for predator is incredible and instant air disk is far better than any bomb you put on the screen for earning opponents respect.

For anyone who doesn't play cyrax his best neutral tool is ex saw, hands down. On a good read it blows up run-ins, staggers, it anti cross ups - and can be converted into full combo. This is his dirt.

I don't get you point. From your answer you seem to be agreeing with me yet its seems like you are responding because you disagree??? His neutral isn't as bad as people make it be, you are even mentioning additional options. Cyrax is a good solid character.

I think Cyrax can be good, but his neutral is poor and a glaring weakness.

We need higher level players using him to see his full potential. My guess is he will not do anything worthwhile in MKX's lifetime.

Anything could happen though.

Life is a block string with no gaps.
I feel like Cyrax struggles from consistency problems. Which, in tournament format, makes him not so great. Because neutral is weak, you're banking on setups to compensate. I'm not a pro, but that's how it feels to me.

Cyrax's buzzsaw is plus on block when hit meaty. Doesn't need a whole thread and I think it's known but hey ho it's nice to be reminded.

In theory, he should be able to make it +7 with a perfect meaty. *Meaning F2 beats perfectly 'timed' 8f mashed pokes and trades with 7f pokes*. Which is unfortunate since most characters have a 7f poke now. Luckily he has F4, but that means if you want a full combo and to be safe you need to commit to F4~EX DB1. A full combo isn't needed though; it's still nice to just check with F4~DB1 for the chip and meter build with catching mashers as a nice added bonus.

Cyrax does have his bomb setups though and they probably build more meter, are safer, lead to more reward on hit and do more chip damage. But I think meaty buzzsaw is still pretty cool. Shame that it probably doesn't fit in with Cyrax's meta but what do I know? Literally spent five minutes with him so far.

**Between asterisks means that I haven't tested it. Other factors (like pushback) may affect it!
