If he clarified of which variation he meant, I would understand what he's saying.

Raiden's only armor is thunder fly, tele, vicinity blast, and that move where he goes in the air and lands. Unless master of storms traps are armored I'm guessing it's ex tele

I knew of Electric Fly (Superman mode)'s armor. Not the other variations' moves. Since it's now the Displacer/MoS turn to shine, I would say that it is the teleport, as you said. The Vicinity Blast is a good move to get out of the korner.

How can vicinity blast possibly be busted? It doesn't even launch anymore unless as an anti air.

It is safe double armor, there is almost nothing that can break it, except some anti wake up settings (and jason)

Raiden's Thunder God and Master of Storms variations sucks and not good enough imo, but Displacer is good mostly because of ex tele and ex tele is kinda broken imo but with weaker ex tele Displacer would be be bad too

Is it broken or is it really good? And if ex tele gets nerfed I hope smokes ex phase will get nerfed as well

Honestly raidens got one of the best wake up games in the game. With vicinity burst being mid I don't think it can Be punished like the old version could. Then you add in displacer teleports and it's just solid

Yeah Raiden has like 3 wakeups. But he needs it. I'm not serious but still I don't think he should be nerfed.

Also this might be old news but instant air superman might be really good for punishing low projectiles. Maybe. But I really think it could be a problem for dualist.

Honestly think they should of kept vicinity burst high, since electric fly hits mid. There's no point really waking up with electric fly when vicinity burst is safe and double armor as well.

To get out of corner for SZ GM, according to the gifs This move can still be whiff punished, but it's harder since you can't low profile it but still can do run and punish with 10f when it whiffs (didn't try higher than 10f, and the one I tried is SZ's). It became dumber than Ermac's armor, but it is something to be triggered as whiff punish.
You might say yeah so he doesn't need it since he has another armor (EX Tele doesn't count, because it is variation dependant). Then remove the armor, this move will be as much used as raw db2, like never unless you're playing against goro.

Due of the stamina usage from 15% to 25% he got nerfed (see Nivek's post here). Pre-patch he was awesome. He is the ideal fighter against some characters. He's a stamina depending fighter.

BTW, I might be a scrub regarding Raiden, because I'm learning him, but I managed to beat someone who used Kotal Khan quite well.

ThunderGod became more about setup than melee pressure to me. It's hard to get near your opponent, but if you get him at the corner, it's almost christmas on what you do. He's one of the few which can break any armor (double armors to be precise). Also you can get a setup safe 50/50 (search for the recent one), leading to a 50% meterless dmg.
This variation isn't dead, just lost a lot of possibilities when you run with it.

I'm having a much easier time with Raiden's midscreen BNB in non-Thunder God variations, by giving myself a bit more of a run after the first F12b2, and doing BF3 after just F12 in the third rep.

There's a bit more leeway if you do it like that. 28%, so you're not sacrificing much.

Also, does vicinity blast launch when you AA with it? It's not working for me in practice mode, however, i'm pretty sure I've seen Goonie do it, after the patch.

EX-DB2 launching depends on where the opponent is. You can only combo off of it if the opponent is pretty much right above you when you do it.

Normal DB2 can be combo'ed off of as an AA if you're fast enough, may require you to cancel it.

You can combo off of db2 without run cancel if they got hit with it at an optimal hight, You can also combo off of ex db2 in the corner but it's hardly viable in real matches because you have to be perfectly spaced at a sweep distance from them and do it on a read as soon as they try to cross jump out of the corner, a sec too late or too early and you wont catch them.

He also builds a lot of meter which gives him his corner set ups and his armour. The "Which is better? Tg or D" argument is far closer than everyone thinks, IMO

What's his best wakeup now? Ex shocker gets beat by about anything so I'm assuming it's ex vicinity blast?
