Finally got the timing, was tricky but now works every time :)
Congratulations, because it sure is tricky. Any tips for a struggling butterfingers?

Yes.

...Nah for realsies though, it can still be done today. Nothing has changed from Cassie since I uploaded that video. It's not easy, just keep practicing. If you really want it, you'll get it.

Lab it a lot, I mean, A LOT. In the beginning I even thought the combo was not possible anymore xD
You have to find that exact moment where the run must be inputted.

b12 is the easiest starter to get this kind of combo. df1 and f3 can also lead to it, but at least for me, df1 one usually works only at close range, and the f3 one is the hardest, I wouldn't even try the last one in a real match.

Im just wondering why SonicFox has been using Brawler over Hollywood in tournaments lately?, at Combo breaker and at Esl finals.

because brawler has the most potential of all 3 variations
sure hollywood plays mkx better because the exnut restand and has iag to deal against some zoning
but once you get close, brawler demolishes the opponent with 50/50s, ticks, staggers, side switches forcing oki at each combo

has some horrible horrible matchups tho, so alien ftw

i know, i just don't know why they put it in at all. or the reason why they made b212 unsafe when the string starts high anyways.....*sigh* ill never understand NRS logic.
If you make the opponent recover faster from B212 then when Cassie cancels the recovery into the 2+4 part of the string it'll have the same startup however the opponent won't still be in block stun from the B212. Thus in order to make B2122+4 have a gap, the opponent must recover before Cassie in the B212 string. If they recover faster than Cassie, then Cassie won't be at an advantage. It just so happens that she had to be unsafe in order for their to be a gap.


I'm no expert so that's my out of my ass/off the top of my head theory lol.

No Cassie expert. Here's my take:
-With SO you get the missiles which have HTBs and great setups/mind games.
-With Hollywood you get IAGs and great restands into 50/50. The Nut Punch is a GREAT wakeup
-With Brawler you get a nice tick throw, air throw, one which switches sides. BF3ex is a great armored OH wakeup
-Universally great footsies (B1), great walk speed, easy hit confirming, awesome mixups, and great corner damage. (In HW and SO you can get a free restand, or Missile setup)

yea i remember all that from mkx. I see that she is getting more play is anything different from MKX to XL or did other characters around her get worse so she got better?

I think she has always been solid

Talking about tier list she's slightly more OP than balanced. Her character design is kinda "dumb" with long range hit confirmable mid and safe 50/50. She can be considered too good when all the broken top tiers are nerfed

Yes that's true. Compared to S tier, she's pretty balanced lol. She'd be very dumb if S tier is nerfed. That's why I call her solid. Still very viable, but not quite running the show

She definitely got worse in MKXL.

Cassie's still a generally low damage midscreen character with an excellent corner game. Her Flip Kick and the EX version both are now 7 frames up from 6 frames. On top of that she lost armour on the EX Flip Kick leaving her armour game pretty bad.

She's still a strong character, I will say.

One thing I hate about her flip is that her ex version seems to have less range than regular version. When I lab the df1 far range flip tech, I notice that her ex flip whiffs many times. I don't know but this should be fixed, she doesn't need buffs next patch but bugs and inconsistency should always be fixed

The weird hitbox of EX Flip has been like that since day 1. They're not going to fix it because it seems to be as they intended it to be.

and it's a good thing.
This weid hitbox allow a few safe wakeups / mean to escape silly situations where the regular flip would get stuffed
 
Funny when she was S you still barely if ever saw her. I didn't even know she was S lmao. Only got into her because the cool costumes she got after XL. She's still a great character though.

Edit: Makes sense though her flip kick would punish things not ment to be punished could even go through gaps, and im talking her regular flip lol. I think the nutpunch was biggest hit though her regular nutpunch was good as ex nutpunch just had to be used in high air, which is np. Would of been interesting to play as her when she had regular nut punch jail into 50/50

Edit: I think this is a S character NRS balanced correctly. Took away the extremely dirt cheap stuff but still left her with dirt to compete with other characters dirt. Didn't completely ruin her like they're known to do with S tiers.
