No news at EVO, but there IS MKXL news coming, says Boon

Glad we'll have more content, not sure though on what to think of it. All DLC kharacters have been built pretty nicely but lack content the others have, so I'm not certain I want more in this game. Better leave it alone for the next game (or just add bonus context-irrelevant ones like our dear revenant-only appearances), after all, I would expect more guest characters, and 4 is already embarassing as it is.

Downside would be the wait though, so I'm hype with whatever they're putting there. Since I'm switching from One to PC, it wouldn't hurt to have a possible UMKX properly ported too, I'd gladly buy a more functional full package to finally make my Xbox useless so I can sell it.

If you mean by nerfing Alien and Mileena to the ground, just to buff the other competent variations (but not focusing on the variations that actually need help (EX: Necromancer and Hat Trick)),) then heck no.

Just wanted to clarify, a new ESL tournament or pot bonus is N!O!T! big news for mkxl.

Speaking for the majority of people who play the game on this planet, nobody cares about a whatever tournament, we care about the actual freakin game. So big news for the ACTUAL GAME would be patches or chars period.

If I hear big news for mkxl one more time followed by a pot bonus or new tournament I'm gonna turn into a gorilla from rage.

The show isn't over - straight up. Many of us were expecting something to be announced/unveiled at EVO, but perhaps we had the wrong perception. Before EVO Boon mentioned an announcement in regards to EVO and following that was the $50K pot bonus that would go towards the EVO top 8.

Regardless, we THANK NRS/WB Games once again for the extremely generous tournament pot bonus. On top of that, Boon has stated recently on twitter that there is in fact, MKXL news coming soon. Kombat Pack 3? Mobile updates? One last balance patch?

We will speculate, but we'll also have to wait anxiously and see what the announcement is. See below, the tweet by Ed Boon confirming more MKXL news:

I really hope it's fixing current content with balancing and adding new content...at least 1 or 2 new characters - Noob/Rain and a stage. That would seal the deal for another 2 years until mk11. We would have then have a great, classic game!!

I kind of agree with you and kind of not. Boon said that they were going to take some chances with the roster and have more new characters than any of the old titles. This did not really pan out which is a shame.

Lewis Kang and Kitana made a lot of sense to the story at the end of the day and sets them up as integral to the plot of the next game. They are also stupidly popular characters that are iconic to the game. Not having Liu is like not having Ken in street fighter and Kitana / Chun Li. These characters have 24 years of history and have loyalists who will not buy the game without them in it (I would not buy SF if Chun Li or Sakura was not in it!). Unlike most of the rest of the cast, they have no new, related characters to replace them – if they did, they could probably get away with losing them out of the cast.

Where I do agree with you is that I thought risks could have been taken with the parents of the children – I think this was a missed opportunity. With the addition of Cassie, I thought it would be more effective to have either Sonya or Johnny dead and Jax as well (perhaps replaced by his wife or Jaquie’s twin or something). I was surprised to see all of these characters in. With Liu and Jin in the game, Lao is a pretty superfluous too – they could not even justify him being there in his ending and he seemed a little pointless.

I like Lao, he's my favorite character in MK. Please don't get rid of Lao.

I hope in the KP3 will be Fujin. If they put him in, I'll main him as the 4th besides GMSZ, Tarkatan Alien and TG Raiden.

I know for sure it will be KP3 and the patch for almost all the characters. Some of them need to get buffed, will some need to get nerfed to make them equal to damage points.

Whatever that is, it's long ready. Patch is good. New DLC means more patching/fixing. I don't think at this point there will be anymore DLC since other projects are around the corner and have priority over almost 2 years old game - it's not SF 4 nor Crapcomm either lol.

Alien isn't dominating tournaments. There are only two alien players winning and one is sonic fox so you can't count him.

So it's really only dragon that you can really be talking about.
