Question - Acidic How can people defend Acidic's OPnes?

I like the design of poison characters but Acid Alien is too much. The DoT is the only thing that needs to be toned down I think, its just too good in conjunction with all of his other tools.

Either way it is how the DoT functions, not necessary the tick damage, that seams all screwed to me.

He doesn't have safe 50/50's, the low is full combo punished.

The people defending Alien need to realise how easy it is to pick up and play acidic. Harassing with d4 into acid spit, then f134 and making a 50/50 out of it. Its horrible design and then in the corner its just low poke acid bath crap; its not skillful, its not fun, its lame.

Alien isn't the only offender. Kotal, Cutt-throat, Demolition, Takeda and Fera are all part of this playstyle that allows what should be unsafe high reward moves to be safe or even plus. Making defense in MKX harder than it should be.

At least eX tail is punishable.

I don't think its fair to dismiss Foxy's insight, but he does have a dog in this fight. Sonic Fox's Acidic is a pretty big obstacle. That's like giving Tong Po broken glass gloves...

Advice that I wish I would have learned sooner about here...

You just made enemies with the angrier Kotal, Cutthroat, Demolition, Takeda, and Ferr-Torr players and they will likely turn their venom onto SQ and A-List. Outside of A-List, you picked a generally laid back group to go after, but no doubt - a lot of players raised their eyebrows at your post - and some lowered theirs into their Ice Cube-Face...


I'm not saying I even disagree with you. I'm just saying that I wish I knew how things were here before making a lot of similar statements to yours.

Any kind of patch is either not coming or a long way off, so I don't get all the constant up-playing and downplaying here - but it seems to be a very constant theme.

Flavor of the month describes the fact that people act like she has no bad MUs and should be nerfed into the ground. Almost every Mileena player agrees she's top 5.

And as someone who plays Acid Alien on the side, I wouldn't call him braindead but he is fairly simple to play. Long range normal into tail flip, pressure, combos into acid restand into more pressure etc. Its not super difficult. Still would like to see only DoT touched though.

The thing about millena that doesn't make her braindead is you need to be a good player to use her. Absolutely nobody can fraud out a win with millena. You need to outplay your opponent, but she gives you all the tools you would ever need to outplay your opponent. That being said, she could be a little to strong, definitely top tier in piercing. It's not like you're using some broken tool, you just have all the tools. Acidic may not be too strong, but he is really really simple and dumb for something very effective.

Thats not a 50/50 its a mix up and if he didn't have that the character would be pointless. All of his strings are full combo punishable. If u get hit by -7 OH it does 5% btw. His mix ups are fuzzy guardable just go to practice and learn the strings. F134 is so damn easy to FG. Its slow as hell and you can see the low coming and the guard high. I do agree cancelling from f13 into OH is annoying af bruh

Unfortunately we have been told that 3/29 was the last patch of the tournament season which absolutely guarantees two things 1) Sonic Fox will win ESL 3 and EVO with Acidic Alien and 2) No one except Mustard will touch the worst character in the game Cyrax.

Hopefully those two things will be addressed after tournament season.

I was just going to say this. It does 3.00% to start, and 10 ticks of .5%. 8% total. The puddle does 15 ticks of .5, 7.5% total. You don't like Acid stacking? Don't get hit. It's no different from Mileena's says or Kitana's fans, but he's DLC so he needs nerfs. Meanwhile, Reptiles Acid puddle and Bo's Flame puddle thing are fine.

Counterpick if your main is a bad matchup against acidid r learn acidic n see if that helps with dealing with her. I dnt think mk is balanced in the first place, as evidenced by all the nerfs n buffs.

Being good and simple to play doesn't mean he should be killed. I honesty think the way sonic fox played him was wreckless and competely yolo which obviously worked out. He should have lost a couple matches maybe a set because of those ex flips. Also the restand got nerfed to shit its literally the most overrated thing about acidic atm. You don't have to hold anything idk why ppl keep crying about the restand. I dont even understand why practice is a mode nobody uses it lol

THIS + many characters beats acidic actually . He loses to : cutthroat kano,a list cage,kitana ,cassie,hqt,lao,sq dvorah,piercing millena,pretty lady leatherface and probably more but its too early to say.
