Lol, Rude sir.. The biggest/most stacked MLG for MK9 was the last one. There were a comparable number of top MK9 players there to EVO -- padding the bracket with 300 more random/unskilled players doesn't necessarily weigh heavily into the difficulty of winning the tournament. At MLG Dallas, there was almost nowhere to hide, as 95% of the bracket were known players, people who at least could play their characters at a mid level, were on teams or had scenes, and knew the game etc.

And mdz bodied sonic in two sets I think that is "dominate" and idk if theo and sonic fought at the top my head. Completely agree. I respect the hell out of a player that has the salt like that. Shrugging off Michelangelo's hug and having the self respect to be pissed off at the placing he got. I get that the game can be fun, and should be... but I really dig players that take it seriously and those that do are only really playing vs their own goals. Blake will not be happy until he wins an event. That is a player that I can get behind and root for.

The reality is that only the winners are remembered and hailed, not those who fell short no matter how respectable their placings may be.

If you play the game for fun, that is your prerogative and you should follow it. I, however, see it as more than that, as do other competitors. Why should I be happy with 9th when the fact of the matter is that I lost and was instantly forgotten like last week's news, while others went on to be recognized?

And those who didn't forget, end up saying that the result I got is perfectly okay and I should be happy for it. I hear it all the damn time. And I'm fed up with it.

The point is that SonicFox has literally not lost an MKX Major (minus one me thinks?). That is absolute domination in a single game that has not been seen since JWong with MVC2. He HAS to be in the conversation.

SonicFox has made more money than any other fighting game player EVER (esportsearnings.com) and he continues to do so.

And the competition in MKX is MUCH more fierce than even IGAU or MK9 by far. Those MK legends y'all mentioned are still around and do not touch SonicFox.

But the only knock anyone could have against Fox is that his dominance so far spans roughly 2 years and some change. When some have won 3 EVOs straight or have put tournament wins together for 2 decades like Ryan. But most cash earned through FG is nothing to scoff at. He's in the conversation no doubt. Although best NRS player no doubt. And no MK1 through Mk8 don't count. They were developed by Midway. Not the entity called NRS.

MK2 and UMK3 were the tournament MK games before MK9. There were a few 3D MK tournaments here and there as well, but those games were more online oriented as far as the competitive community is concerned. There was definitely a tournament scene for MK2 and even more so for UMK3. Sure, not a "ton" of casuals were entering the tournament inflating the participants. But there were the same amount of top players, and same amount of super elite players. And given the size of the community for these games, the ratio of great players to casual player is 10:1 or greater.

The same argument you guys use for why SonixFox can't be the GOAT, is the same argument on why REO is the GOAT in regards to MK games. REO has won tournaments in MK2 and UMK3 (and even MKT) which isn't easy to do, regardless of entrants, it's quality of players over quantity. No other MK player can say they've been a top player in just about every single MK game, let alone won tournaments in them. It's simple really, REO is the best overall MK player, SonicFox is the best overall NRS player.

Fox is a better FG player than I am and I give him all due respect for what he has done and will continue to do. While i'm not claiming to be on his level as a player, I have won MULTIPLE majors in MULTIPLE different games. I have also placed top 8 at majors in MULTIPLE different games. People like yourself have no idea of my accomplishments, you would rather buy into this TYM fabricated lie that I am a terrible player who has done nothing. I do not need to be on Fox's level to still be a very accomplished player. You think people should give Fox respect for what he has done, and I agree.
