Making A Call For Kombat Day! [Feb. 7th, 2016]

I've been playing MK ONE since it came out in 92. I was 4 years old when I played the damn game. I played every single MK game when it was released (Except MK VS DC). If there's anyone who loves the franchise, that is definitely me but I just can't deal with this anymore. I have better things to do than trying to convince a company that they should deliver a functional product and its updates to a platform that paid as much as the others (And had to deal with BS performance and delayed patches for months to boot). A customer shouldn't freaking BEG for this kind of support from a multi millionaire company.

Even if we defend this by saying "Well, they never promised that the PC version was going to get KP2!" which is just a corporate shill kind-of excuse to justify the injustificable, the PC version will still not get the updates to the CORE game, including rebalancing and new netcode.

I am in no way going to spend over $600 in a console, over $80 in a game I already have and even more cash paying to have the privilege to play online (All these are STANDARD prices in most of the countries outside of your USA+Part of Europe bubble). Your solution reeks of first world country snob really.
Not to mention that I had to buy a PS4(or xbone) controller in order to compete all the locals. Now it feels like throwing cash in the trash bin. Yes, I can still use this controller, but there aren't enough games that feel better using controller over a KB+mouse for camera and there's no debate on that.

I live in the U.S. I just know I wouldn't want to go without it over coin. I didn't like that SFV wasn't on X1, but now I own a Ps4 because of that. I wasn't going to let a few hundred bucks stand between me and the next Street Fighter game. I'm a gamer. My basement has been redone and is furnished to handle big groups for gaming. I'm not poor and its something I love.

You may want to organize the next mk event on a day that isn't also scheduled to have the largest sporting event on earth as well.

Glad I'm not the only one who found this to be a potential issue. Again, I care more about MK than I do football so I'll be participating no matter what day it is.

but you dont have to play the game, you have to start it up and leave so steam would count you as playing online.
many people dont get this. but this is what im going to do, im going to turn game on early in the morning in leave it on alt tab.
i advise OP so spread this informations, because many people might be lazy to play through whole day, but with this method fortunately we will attract more potential numbers to this cause.

Some people may do that but not all of them, and to have people actively playing would make the whole experience better and possibly increase general traffic in the game afterwards.

I will also participate, great idea! We have to share this around, there is already a comment on MK facebook page leading to this link, that's how I found out about it. I see that there is a problem for some people due to superball. So if the numbers are low this Sunday we can organize again a new combat day next Sunday.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not telling you to boycott them or anything like that, I'm telling you that your solution is not a solution at all, we would be just dodge the problem while at the same time give money to the very same company that abandoned the product people paid for beforehand (After a LOT of problems to boot). Nothing is going to stop them from fucking up with other consoles next. Of course you're not going to care because you can have all the consoles at the same time.

If you DO have the money to buy the game on a different console then of course go ahead! I'm sure a lot of the PC players who feel burned by WB and NRS would've done the same if money was as expendable to them as it is to you, but that's not the case for several people because of money and/or regional reasons.

The people who lack money are also supposed to suddenly save 400 to 700 dollars for the console, up to 80 dollars for the game and pay for the online mode, all of that before the game inevitably dies thanks to newer games coming out. The very same people who purchased this game on PC because they already had a good PC and don't need to pay an extra fee for online. They basically counted on the game to be just as up to date as the console version *as was promised before release*.

In any case, fuck this game. I moved to XCOM 2, I wont even use SAM to "launch" MKX, it's a waste of time.

When you buy console and MKX on that console for KP2 and GGPO while owning it already on PC, you give WB 2x more money for scamming you.

X-COM 2 will be great for about a month. Hopefully, you like SFV. I'm not condescending either. I haven't had to go without games because of monetary limitations since I was a kid, but I remember it well and it did suck.

Not that it could ever replace MKXL, but for those PC gamers that don't know...

I sympathize with you OP, and would've liked to help, but me and my buddies uninstalled the game over two weeks ago and there is no chance I'm DLing it again, as I don't really care anymore. I'm done with WB and NRS, personally, and it's clear PC is left for dead.

On top, as someone else said, the game spiking only benefits WB/NRS, so I'm not gonna do that. I feel for you guys who still hold on hope, but any remaining hope for the PC version is pretty dead at this point.
Just keep putting extra bucks down on it and you'll have it in no time. I didn't really have the extra coin to spend on a Ps4, but SFV is only coming out on PS4 - so now I have one.

I bought my X1 by putting money down on it every time I walked into Gamestop rather than buying a 360 game. $20, .... $40 there ... the money was there in no time.
That's easy to say for you when you're not in that situation, though. There's literally no way it's worth it for anyone in that situation to do what you're suggesting. Not only is it incredibly dumb to shell out console/PC money for only one game (unless it's a Souls game,) it'll take him ~3 months if he saves all he earns. It's unlikely MKX will even retain enough of its lifespan at that point to be worth investing all this effort for (not that I think it's worth all this simply for MKX in the first place.)

I also think it's silly that if a dev fucks you over after you give them ~$70 your instant reaction/solution is to give them 5x the money right after. No wonder they do this sort of stuff. If only XB1 gets KP3 and Enhanced Online Cross-Platform Play, will you simply just buy the XB1 and think it's fine? You've easily convinced me you are an overprivileged snob (and this is even coming from a resident of Norway!) I even find your suggestion ignorant and borderline insulting.

I have no problem avoiding every WB and NRS product in the future out of principle. In my last ~15 years of PC gaming, this is the only time I've put any company on a personal blacklist. I've never felt this intentionally screwed over by a dev before, and especially not this dishonestly/shadily.

edit: this is likely my last post on the forums, it's already been 1.5 weeks since last i checked in. i'd just like to thank everyone for at least trying to do something about PC, but i simply don't think there's a big enough number of voices or activity.

edit: anyways, thanks for everything, guys. hope i see you pc guys on other games in the future. don't think i'll post much more and i barely visit anymore as there's nothing more for me here.

lol no, I am a completionist. Getting 100% in XCOM 2 is going to take a while, and I already have the season pass so I'll get new content periodically, unlike with MKX :p

But yeah, I also have SFV! That's going to be my fighting game fix for now I guess, too bad because I was pretty hyped about triborg! Sadly WB doesn't want my money so this is where my over 20 years of loyalty to MK end.
