Making A Call For Kombat Day! [Feb. 7th, 2016]

We all like to play Mortal Kombat! Unfortunatley not all is well in the realm. By now most of you should know that the latest content known as Kombat Pack 2 will not release on PC. Usually this is followed by raging posts, calls to spam and other negative actions that do more harm than good, in the end no one wins.

I propose a more positive type of action, something similar to the petition that keeps growing each day. An action that has virtually zero cost but produces something that we can show the powers above: NUMBERS. Numbers of people who want to play on PC. How can that be done? Well, I am organising an event on February 7th called Kombat Day.

Kombat Day is not a day of protest, it's not a day of calling names. It's a day when we all want to do what we always wanted to do: play Mortal Kombat, the thing that unites us all across all platforms. The aim of Kombat Day is to create a spike of activity on Steam in order to show that there is a fan base on PC, as I wrote above, this will produce enough numbers to proove that there is no unworthy platform, the fans are there, they are simply silent.

How do you atend Kombat Day? Easy, if you have a copy on Steam fire it up and leave it running as long as you can.You are a console player? You can attend too! Stream up your matches and use the tag @kombatforpc There are no defined hours, I left it as a day long event so that people can participate at the hours they see fit, needless to say the more the better.

I have 5-7 friends who stopped playing it once it is announced that PC is not getting KP2. Few of them even deleted the game and said they're never buying anything under WB or NRS for PC. For me... it's senseless to buy a console just to play 2-3 game titles. But I feel like I've been lied all along since April.

ive read about kombat day on steam forums and i was very skeptical for many days, but today it just suddenly struck me that if those 500k who bought the game suddenly spiked activity it would be noticeable. anyways ive uninstalled all wb products on my computer but i will specifically install mkx for 7th february.

one more thing i wanted to ask about, with the relentless stuff and fight we do, if someone can share our petitions and kombat day to someone like angry joe or total biscuit it would be great if they made a video or mentioned this.

It sucks and seems harsh, but its borderline sado-masochistic for those that love MK to go without it on principle.

So, do yourselves a favor and unclench your buttholes long enough to go get a system and MKXL. You'll get your monies worth through hours upon hours of great gaming.

Really? At this moment, the PS4 in Brazil is around 2000 reais (around 500 american dollars but the minimum wage is around 900 reais, so, I will need to work for more than 2 months to buy a PS4) + MKLX that will be 200 reais + PS plus that is 100 reais = around 2300 reais... I will need to work for 3 months to play MKLX in a console

Just keep putting extra bucks down on it and you'll have it in no time. I didn't really have the extra coin to spend on a Ps4, but SFV is only coming out on PS4 - so now I have one.

I bought my X1 by putting money down on it every time I walked into Gamestop rather than buying a 360 game. $20, .... $40 there ... the money was there in no time.

I don't know if scheduling kombat day on the same day the superbowl happens is necessarily the greatest idea... that being said I'll be on for whatever day it happens.

If you guys wanna avoid installing it but participate anyway in the spike you can just pretend that you're running the game by doing some tricks.The easiest one is to just use Steam Achievement Manager and "run" the game with that. You'll save your bandwidth if yours is limited. The game is too big for certain people to download it fast, or maybe some of you just don't have the HDD space.

I'm not reinstalling though. I don't care anymore, WB and NRS can do whatever the hell I want, I'm done with them until they give us KP2, and only if they give it to us in a timely manner. Releasing it 2 years later will not change shit. I'm not gonna reward them with a userbase spike, they don't even deserve that little.

It's also even more obvious today that WB is definitely quitting the PC as a viable platform. The Batman AK Linux port got cancelled yesterday after months and months of waiting and there's a rumor that a remastered arkham series will not even arrive on PC.

I've been playing MK ONE since it came out in 92. I was 4 years old when I played the damn game. I played every single MK game when it was released (Except MK VS DC). If there's anyone who loves the franchise, that is definitely me but I just can't deal with this anymore. I have better things to do than trying to convince a company that they should deliver a functional product and its updates to a platform that paid as much as the others (And had to deal with BS performance and delayed patches for months to boot). A customer shouldn't freaking BEG for this kind of support from a multi millionaire company.

Even if we defend this by saying "Well, they never promised that the PC version was going to get KP2!" which is just a corporate shill kind-of excuse to justify the injustificable, the PC version will still not get the updates to the CORE game, including rebalancing and new netcode.

I am in no way going to spend over $600 in a console, over $80 in a game I already have and even more cash paying to have the privilege to play online (All these are STANDARD prices in most of the countries outside of your USA+Part of Europe bubble). Your solution reeks of first world country snob really.
