No, if you try to trip guard her she can cancel the recovery into a move. That's what the tech is.

And before people freak out this has been known in the Tanya community for quite sometime. Its useful but it isn't gamebreaking by any means.

go ahead and skip the b31 tele cancels starters once you get to the combo forums. she can't do those anymore after they nerfed her teleport like the third time, i think? oh and they nerfed her damage so that isn't accurate either

idk tbh i'm not interested in putting up with some 28 year old guy trying to take shots in an online forum to people nearly a decade younger than him.

I don't understand this post at all.

But to clarify further:

A few patches ago they made it so that she had about 10 frames of added recovery when landing from a teleport. Something got screwed up so she is able to disregard the recovery frames by canceling into any move.

It was known for quite some time now, just like it was known about the ex tonfa punish which Pig recently posted.

People are just extremely lazy these days, they don't lab anything and when they got hit by something they didn't know they come to forums and whine that it should be nerfed or even better the character should be "removed from the game".

Yea I know man. I can only do that combo in the corner now and even then its freakin hard to do.

Haha I just wanna play this character for fun man since her design is crazy and no one really plays this variation. My problem before wasn't doing combos, but figuring out how to pressure with her in her current state cuz I had 0 pressure. At least this vid will give me some ideas to play around with and develop some kind of pressure game hopefully.

i'm saying the cancellable tele recovery frames aren't great when you have to pray your opponent doesnt react to the the whole teleport animation, and falling down from outer space thing. you can just let a d2 rip at worst and risk getting hit by a drill, which im sure someone will tell me now her air 5050s are too gdlk.

...I said it wasn't that great in my original post.

You're right though. The most practical use it has is it lets you iaBack tele and cancel recovery with tonfa toss, giving you a semi safe way to escape pressure. But considering Tanya herself is a pressure character it tends to not be optimal in most MUs.

It's a conditioning pressure tool. Make sure you are cancelling everything first and holding it out to bait a reversal or a reaction, OR use EX teleport.

So in explanation, there a few things do understand before video.

Tanya got nerfed with her teleport. She has LOTS of landing frames now when she teleports, almost rendering the move useless in most situations. It was known by a few tanya players that she can land cancel her teleport into a different special, but thats not the tech here.

Tanya can land cancel her teleport into a special AND a NORMAL AND THROW.

So do you know what that means?

I mess up a bit in the middle, but get flashy with her mixup potential near the end.
THIS ALSO MEANS WHEN YOU ARE FULLSCREEN YOU CAN DO INSTANT AIR TELEPORT LAND CANCEL INTO F43 AND BE +1 AND HIT THEM FROM FULLSCREEN.
