Question - Summoner Is Quan Chi in reality a mid tier character?

The thing is we've seen that tournament results matter very little when discussing the tier of a character. Cyrax, Sonya, Bane, Zod, etc. All amazing characters that took months/years to win a major or never won one at all.

I probably won more matches vs Master D with Quan lol. Anyways It's not always about player vs player, looking at the characters' tools Quan Chi just can't possibly be mid tier

A faster d1 alone won't cut it in MKX.

I'm not being a downplayer in any sense, but it really doesn't do much for him. The Quan players we see winning sets in tournament aren't doing it because of their faster d1, they rarely even use it as it's minus on block.

It's made little difference to him in recent events.

I do agree he doesn't have the best wake ups. But if play smart you can keep the knocked down factor to a minimum.

Quan chi has plenty of defense stop down playing them seriously.

Quan Defense options:

5 Frame Neutral jump punch it Antiairs and can be use to stop pokes or pressure.

Zoning one best in the game can be used to keep opponent out which is defensive.

Above Average backdash which can be used to whiff punish or get away from opponent or zone which is like the best if not.

6 frame poke he can poke out of pressure or use the beautiful 5f Njp for full combo punish to the best 50/50 in the game.

One last thing is his 9 frame uppercut which is above average for a uppercut and can be used last minute to
AA. Players forget about it because they get greedy and go for B2s Or NJp.

Yes his Wake up in two of his variations are not good but everything else is...

And if you want Wake ups you can have them by using Warlock.

Quan is top. Like, it's impossible to deny this. Dizzy and Ketchup's arguments perfectly describe Quan.

Warlock will likely start seeing more use as Quan players get tired of his defense costing them.

Biggest problem with Warlock as a switch from Summoner is that his meter building isn't typically strong enough to support the meter heavy offense Quan has. So even if you have the ability to spend a bar defensively and get a bit of damage, you need to spend another bar if you want the reset, and once you're out of meter you have less efficient meter building in both the zoning and up close game. So while Warlock could compliment Summoner as an alternative for heavy rushdown matchups, I think the difficulty in sustaining meter is often overlooked when considering the usefulness of Warlock.

A very predictable analysis from a rush down fool's perspective.

A top tier character's corner offense is superior to Quan Chi's vortex. In the corner, Quan Chi has to guess between pressure strings, staggered pressure strings, overhead attacks, low attacks, and throws, all of which lead to more offense. Watch Foxy versus Mike as the most recent example, even though other characters have even better offense on Quan Chi than Kung Lao.

The reason you rush down fools keep making the claim that Quan Chi is so broken is because each night before you go to bed you pray to Paolo Garcia that he is normalized. Why will none of you have some decency for once and make this admission?

Just because Quan is the best character in the game doesn't mean he has 0 5-5 matchups, he has a few 5-5's here and there and Tremor might be one of them.

Also I don't know much about the Tremor vs Quan, I highly doubt me vs Reo today was anywhere near the highest level of play that matchup can be
