I'm not Vak goddamnit
I won't be able to make it today, my roommate DID NOT have my money on Friday like Big Worm, and I'm waiting on my first paycheck from my job next week. Normally wouldn't be an issue but yesterday I put down my hotel deposit for next year's Dragoncon. I'll be able to see you guys next weekend though when that almost-a-grand bounces back. :(

I don't know 100% that I'll make it tonight, but I'm still trying. We got a new car, but don't have temporary tags or any of that fun stuff for it yet. Can probably take my clunker, but it's less than ideal lol

Looks like I should be able to make it for a couple hours. If anyone else has to bow out try to let me know in the next hour though (I'm leaving at 6 so I'll make it there around 7 or so) :D don't want to drive an hour for nothing when I can play MK at home lol

It's unfortunate, but I'm not mad about it. On the one hand it did suck to drive to Alabaster and pay $10 just to play with the same guy I would have played with at my house lol

but on the OTHER hand, I'm thankful for the opportunity to take the trip to Press Start. It's truly an awesome facility. I was almost mindblown, if I lived closer I'd go all the time even though I seem to have just about every game I would want to play. I could definitely see myself going to get a Killer Instinct fix.

For future references though, maybe we should all exchange numbers or use something like GroupMe or Google Hangouts to have a group chat so we can get in touch faster than by checking TYM? Personally, I'm partial to GroupMe

Yea that's on me. Glad you enjoyed the venue. It's definitely godlike to say the least. The guy that runs it has a Smash team as well, and they actually travel to tournaments as well. He does do MKX tournaments but they're so few and far in between that Smash overrides everything there. I'm gonna join the TYM Groupme chat that you just created, hell we all should so that way we can collab and train at press start one day

I think we need establish like a biweekly or monthly meet up at one location first. We can go out to others, but we need a main location first.

I think Top Games is our place, but I think the issue is that their casuals are on weekdays which makes it harder for some of us to make it.

Yea that's my biggest issue. Right now I'm doing 8-5 off weekends for training for this transition, new schedule starts in November so I will have to see about that one

Out of 7 days, we all gotta have at least one day in common. I think a planned casuals would be a lot easier for us until the scene grow.

Agreed. I guess we should also accept that as bad as online may be, we ALSO have that.

Now now... don't go walking backwards. This is great progress.

Honestly, if we had done this like when the game was first release, we would probably have an offline scene. The release of MKX was sort of ugh.. due to personal reasons for me. I do enjoy the game, but it started off downhill for me.

But yeah, we can have online sessions from time to time. Considering us Bama folks added everyone.

Haha I definitely didn't mean ALL the time or even regularly! I just meant to keep us in touch and playing with one another. I think if we just get a good Saturday venue, we should be set. For those that haven't checked out Press Start, I will still say it's an awesome venue but I personally prefer the drive to Top Games. Infinitely less stressful lol

Top Games - Gardendale -I prefer it because I'm familiar with the area.
Press Start - Alabaster - Haven't been there.
The Hive - Tuscaloosa - I like that place a lot, but I don't like Tuscaloosa.

@ThaShiveGeek - Either of those places are good with me.

I'm down with either of those places. FYI, my schedule just changed, my off days will be Sunday and Monday and I work 10-7, so almost any day should be good for me depending upon what time you guys start casuals. Right now I am doing training for the next two weeks so I have the weekends off, and that'll be my new schedule afterwards. I'm all for playing online; however, I prefer to play on ps4 instead of xbox one. I've grown to like that controller. Now if I could adjust to said controller when I play Madden.....:DOGE

Haha I guess you gotta make the console move and get on PS4 then! Bring @JJV Phoenix with you and we'll have the whole gang on the same console. Personally, I would LOVE Kombat Sundays. I would be willing to bet that I could make it out somewhere every Sunday

If you guys haven't joined the GroupMe chat that I created before, you totally should. It also lets us add events to a calendar within the chat which makes it easy for everyone to keep up with. While we're at it, maybe we should sync schedules:

Myron J (Gadsden Area)
Monday - Unavailable offline
Tuesday - Unavailable offline
Wednesday - 6 PM (when available)
Thursday - 6 PM (sometimes a little earlier)
Friday - 6 PM
Saturday - All day (aside from possible exceptions)
Sunday - All day (aside from possible exceptions obviously)

The only thing is I'm looking at about an hour of travel time to get into the Birmingham area, so by the time I arrive anywhere on Thursday or Friday it will be like 7 and then there's another hour coming back. Haha why can't we just all be in the same city?

I'm actually looking for one now. I would love to find one with Madden and/or MKX and if need be I could just purchase the other one. Plus download USF 4 as well :)
