Alright, here's a bug where u cant Block after a jump in or back punch...a horrid BUG!! enjoy

to explain the bug:

If you did a whiffed jump in or jump back Punch, and before u hit the ground u held Crouch (whether d or d/f or d/b)...u simply wont be able to BLOCK after! whether ur holding block or even pressing it.

if you kept on holding crouch the bug will always be activated UNTIL you release ur hand from Crouch. If you tried to chain, without removing your hands/finger from crouch, and motioned to either forward or backward and kept holding this direction (whether forward or backward), the bug will also be ACTIVE STILL.

simply u wont be able to block.

to break this situation, simply be nuetral for a moment, or press any other button to escape such situation so u can be able to re block again. NOTE: tag button doesnt affect such situation.


Like an idiot, i forgot to correct this and instead of re capturing the vid, i simply uploaded an older recorded version i made form couple of weeks.
for this bug to happen u dont have to press block and CROUCH while landing....simply as soon as u land from jump deep punch, just hold crouch. this will activate the bug were u wont be able to block!

Important Note: TO everyone in here who is/are confused.

Do you know whats a jump in DEEP punch?
lets put this example of a regular hurtbox, lets say Kitana (Exclude Sheeva for this example).
Jump deep punch Starts From Opponent face, down tell you reach the ground. so as of hight, it starts from feet, up to the Face.
Jump deep punch is required by some certain characters due to the following Attack attribute. For example;

1- Kratos. to Link f+2 after a jump punch, the Jumping arc has to be DEEP! or else, f+2 will be blockable.

IF ! an early bird jump punch is preformed, meaning the punch starts and is pressed/ active frames from (As soon as the arc jump is done) >> (Tell above the head).
In that case, f+2 WONT CONNECT!

2- Same goes to kruegur. the jump punch has to be deep or else f+4,2,1 wont hit Connect*


So, jump deep punch doesnt mean that it's RIGHT before you reach the ground at all! it means it's active from the arc jump when the jump arc reaches opponent face >> or below. so the window to input your punch, form the face, down to the ground is called = " JUMP IN DEEP"

If you watch the vid carefully, you can see this example.
Watch @ moment 1 min: 45 Second.
or moment @ 1 min: 50 sec >> tell moment 1 min:53
or moment 1 min: 57 sec


the vid is just to show the concept, so if you paid attention, it varied with different timing just to show the capabilities/ and/or the bug itself ....ponit is to deliver an accurate explanation to the viewer

like KT Smith, this example HAPPENS easily after cross overs, specially if opponent lowered their hit boxes. havnt you ever notice that sometimes Mileena or sonya or reptile or Barak , when you cross up they do cr+4x2? the first one whiff, and the second one will hit you? while on paper, BOTH of you have a frame war advantage? " by means, the faster poke input, is the one that will get excuted"

not only that, THIS makes people cry a lot against reptile...JUST BECAUSE that instead of jump arcing with nothing, they jump arc with punch and then crouch block. simply reptile can quickly 2x Elbow dash.

to be honest, this Bug is NOT a Major threat! the reaosn is, high level play you wont see something like that and YOU WONT use something like that...BUT it happens! EVEN in majors as well in high level play. though you wont see it often.
it's the same like the input Bug....probability based on excution

This is really bad because if you wanna make the opponent force block, wait then throw as a block bait, you can't. wtf

it's horrible u dont imagine how man....i suffered a lot form it for MONTHS!
i though it was online thing...three weeks ago i discovered that and i was Shocked!! i sometimes do jump back Punch and just hold crouch block.....and everytime i did that i was punish!
until i noticed that one time i did it full screen and the block animation wasnt there :S

anyways, i have a LOT of funny bugs and they will be all posted soon with OTHER great techs and combos, will collaborate with Check . ...so hope all will like the future incoming bugs lol

and yes! i felt i had to post this! it was eating me alive!

That's pretty ridiculous, but I suppose it's par for the course with MK9.

I know man...it's pretty sad i swear :S

you guys dont imagine how i was pissed with this BUG!! i use jump back punch in different situation, specially corner! to escape some situations against some specific characters who doesnt hold a threat at such distance. i am not kiddin....the jump back punch is a good tool to be honest...for kenshi, air to air punch is very usefull sometimes.

the move is VERY viable in any match....I EVEN noticed a lot of players who suffered from this, and as soon as they land, because they are crouch blocking, i simply punish with a Rising karma from kenshi.

this happened to me in the last salty battle 6 :S thats why i reached a point were i was REALLY PISSED! a lost a LOT of matches because of this stupid input :S

kenshi alrdy have the Reflect bug. add to that the EX meter drain Bug or option select, the collision Bug, the input bug and stupid Negative edge system,and now...ADD THIS!! rofl

too much

but anyways, i posted this to storms...hopefully will be on front page soon

This just plain blows.

I constantly lose JIP-combo-start exchanges online, like say I jump in on Raiden to bait a Superman, I block when my feet touch down, and I still get carried across the screen. Even though I know I'm blocking.
This could help explain that a bit...

yup has to be deep punch...though , it starts off from opponent head top tell the ground. so by means, it's a viable jump punch distance to use!

also just to be specific, this bug only happen on arc jump punchs....must be Jump deep, non Kick, and Non NJP.

freddy used to has the same bug after his NMS cancel, though NRS fixed it

wow i always thought that i wasnt pressing block in time, or i was in recovery frames or some bullshit but this is it.. i just blamed it on me being real stupid and just one aspect of my shitty game.

This probably can't be patched, much like the input bug. But anyways, anyone who knows stuff like this should not keep it to themselves. If NRS is actually working on a hotfix and some things can be fixed before they release it, they should know about it as much as possible. Thanks for sharing this with us teef.

the reason why i didnt want to share this at first was because of two main reasons. if i remember correctly, i recorded this vid from like... 3 weeks ago...actually october 15th*
i am Currently WAAAAY busy with stuff to be honest, and the reason it halted me down was because i wanted to make a REALLy interesting video. atleast like 20 min showing a LOT of stuff for MK9 that people are not aware off

there are OTHER plenty of bugs on my desk! for example, Freddies double projectile visual bug. or smokes shake bug. Or Invisibility with any character in the game bug...LOTS AND LOTS! and tell now know one knows about them. i just wanted to make 1 good video that would made people get up on their feet!
though, i felt like this bug was a Major part of the vid... i felt that this is an important share, because REALLY it's too much...and so i decided to share it and split apart the video :(
last week i showed it to the gang, and they where like...Wtf :S lol

Thank you very much for this post and for taking the time to bring this to light, much appreciated. This bug explains the issues I was having. I coulda sworn I was crouch blocking half the time but I too chalked it up to bad timing or clumsy fingers. I truly believe this game is beyond patching. This game needs to be completely re-done. :grr:

Wow. This happens to me on a daily basis, I always figured it was attributed to online's BS. JIPs are such a big part of this game, this is a big deal.

jump punch backward then block sub zero slide, kabal saw?

the underlying issue is "when else can't we block?"

I can still see somebody losing though if they happen to jump in punch then hold down and block afterwards... and the jip happens to be deep. It might not be the best decision to make, but seeing as it can cost a round makes this complete BS.

but for now to bypass the bug u can just double tap nuetral block (you won't see block come out), and then u can crouch block there after.

it requires a bit of timing. but it works.

I love having to work around bugs to play this game. It's like a game within a game!
