MKX XB1 "The Loading Screen of Death"

All these feels are real! My DLC decides to re-install itself on launch of the game causing 'Updating Game Data' and 'Connecting to Online' to be substantially longer than it should be. It resolves itself sometimes on its own however, like after a ranked match instead of waiting on the LSoD it goes straight into finding a match again without any prior change or warnings.

I normally just find a KOTH to join and go on a big streak to keep the games flowing though as a make do to play online but I really wanna hit ranked smoothly and consistently. I just hope there is a fix for this soon because lets face it, there is f*ck all we can do about it :(

The part in bold is what is most promising. Sounds like they have fix, at least as I read it. As to why they want people to contact them seems odd, they've already got my details 10 times over.

So I sent another email to tech support... still no response.

I don't want to get anyones hopes up, just restating what i've been told. Could be miscommunication, support reading something wrong... something else... But it's the most promising thing noted so far, but far from official.

Given the lack of other info from others it sometimes feels like i'm the only one bothering with this... Would be nice to get some feedback on responses that others have received, so we can see if they're at least all on the same page. It's great to post here, but emailing/tweeting/facebook-ing WBgames/Xbox/NRS is what needs to be done to get some answers. Along with pestering them on their official forum.

Interesting but I don't buy what the rep told you. So all of the thousands if xbl accounts have to contact NRS to get "unlocked"? Doesn't seem like a feasible fix.

I am able to play call of duty and gears no problem at the cabin however. I do know that the Internet speed is way lower than at the apartment but I'm surprised I can't play mkx at all online here (unless I want to wait forever)

I believe it might be the server is timing out based on the lack of speed in order to connect to mkx online. In my experience I have to have at least 20 mbps for online to not have any issues.

My dl speed is over 20 and I still get this garbage. Sometimes (very small percentage) I can connect fine. So I don't think its speed related. Something with certain ip's getting filtered out most likely.

I've been doing alot of testing and some things I've noticed.

-if it hangs on initial updating screen you will get lsod everytime.
-sometimes when it reinstalls dlc upon startup and you get the "installation stopped" bug. You will then be able to connect for a short time.
-auto updates and downloads are not occurring as they should for mkx.

Unfortunately I'm not expecting much from this either. As I said, it may have been a miscommunication or the agent read something the wrong way. Until we hear something from WB/NRS, i'm not holding out much for this.

But unlike NRS/WB I think its nice to know where things are at and thought that people might find that interesting, even if it isn't as promising as it sounds.

Without further testing that says to me something in the DLC might be the issue. Curious to know if a combination of DLC causes the problem somehow. Although i'm pretty sure (but not certain) i've had it occur on a fresh install with no DLC downloaded.

It's not a speed issue, otherwise you won't be able to connect at all. When the game connects it's fine (as fine any NRS game is anyway), even after the 5min wait time. My connection is as stable as i've ever had, and the only thing that is up & down is MKX and it's piss poor online connection.

There's something going on with the initial handshake between the game and NRS servers, like it gets dropped and it has a 5min delay on reconnection. At least if you could back out of the connecting screen you could try again... but you can't.

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, sometimes when you connect to the rooms it only shows about 5 rooms, refresh - same, refresh - same, exit, enter rooms again and it has the full list 10-20+ rooms. It's like it's connecting to a completely different server, even though the rooms are the same as on the full list. Has happened both when getting the LSOD and when connecting normally. Probably just another NRS online issue...

This is slightly irritating. I've got nothing against this stream to show off any new things they've added, even the whole tease tweets to create some excitement, but why can't someone just post whether the damn LSoD is fixed? Theres no need for that info to be held back like its some secret feature, chances are it won't even be mentioned on stream.

So either:
- The patch does fix it but they're not going to make a big deal about it;
- It's possibly fixed by the patch, but waiting till it goes live to see if it worked as intended;
- Or the most likely outcome given the lack of info, nothing has been done and users affected are still stuck with a broken game.

The only thing that has me holding out hope is that one sentence from the Xbox support rep that said "a resolution has been delivered."

I guess we'll find out in a few days time.

haha.. "We'll go over everything on Monday!" .. does he mean he's going to mention that they know it's a problem, then play johnny cage terribly for 30 minutes?

Missed the start of the stream... and i'm not expecting the answer I want, but was anything said about this? Even in a vague sense?

i got stuck at the connecting to online screen once then it wouldnt let me get no ranked matches or join koth, signed in at my buddies house and let me play. so when i got home i reset my router and modem several times. checked the conection with xbox and it said it was fine. for some reason i thought let me connect with wireless so i unplugged the ethernet cord. reset my router and modem again, then setup my xbox to wireless and it connected and was able to get games again. so then i reconnect the ethernet and set xbox to wired and it started working and havent had the issue since "crosses fingers".

maybe a fix idk but figured id share what happened to me and how i seemed to fix mine.

Playing devils advocate here but maybe it's Xbox's fault and not NRS's? Like maybe it's out of there control. Somehow. I dno.

Best save up for a PS4 guys. That was likely the last patch for a while and the fact that its not being responded to means they have no intention of fixing it.

Pretty disgusted with NRS at the moment. Never had a problem like this where I can't play the fucking game I own for 3 months. smh
