TYM Kommunity Project: An Open Letter to NRS Concerning Netplay

I signed it but...what are you expecting to have happen here? They know that the online for MKX is bad and either A) It's not an easy fix (or possibly even unfixable) for a variety of reasons. Or B) They don't care (or it's not cost efficient) enough to bother. Either way I wouldn't hold my breath on MKX online improving by much. Best case scenario is that the next NRS game (probably Injustice 2) has better online infrastucture.
wether they react to a popular petition, admit the problem and discuss it or not tells a lot.

This is so laughable. The best selling game of the year and a small petition with not even 300 names on it form a bunch of complainie pants, foot stamping little girl, bottom lip protruding cry babies. If it wasn't so pathetic it would be hilarious.

Lack of response on this petition shouldn't lead you to conclude that it isn't an issue at all or that there aren't a large amount of people out there that agree that the online experience is laughable.

I'll save everyone the trouble and said this:

Instead of coming into this thread and making fun/belittling our effort, what about you sign it and try to support it.....

asking people not to make fun of people acting like idiots is like asking snow not to melt.

I mean the idea that the netcode is even able to be changed is a joke, let alone that this is some kind of issue that can be addressed by fan pressure. The lack of understanding about how games are made is beyond naive into a kind of fair tale believing in Santa territory.

I doubt that NRS will actually fix the netcode in this game, but if people show them that their shitty online is making them reconsider buying the next game, then I'm sure that they'll make the changes necessary. There is literally nothing wrong with signing a petition telling a company whom you paid that they have given you a piss poor product. No harm can come of it, only good at best.

Your personal assault against the people supporting this is pretty funny yet sad, as you don't even list any facts.
I do know how programming works, you seem to go off of things you've read online.
It's not about IF they can change it, it's about DO THEY WANT to change it. Ofcourse they're able to change it, that's what the patching systems are for.
Ofcourse changing things costs money, but that has nothing to do with the ability to do them to begin with.

I know most people who see the thread or see "can you sign" are too lazy to do so, I was at first too.

It literally took 45-60 seconds. That is worth every second due to everyone who bought the game getting utterly robbed of a 2015 online experience.

Fact is, online games are amazing these days, with very minimal or noticeable lag. Tekken 7 online in arcades and SFV beta online are incredible! They will BE incredible on release. I will buy THOSE games Day 1. I will not buy the next NRS game unless I hear post-release that the online is up to modern fighters level. I may not be able to do much right now, but I will attack them with my wallet next release if online sucks again. Again, I'm not spending a penny until credible online is verified after next release.

Signed.

I agree with everything, especially first part. All tho I dont think petition will help. Maybe only way for them to improve network component is if several well known MKX players or community members who might have influence push NRS into some kind of initiation and get it to kickstarter and then if they get a ton of money there to "fix netcode" they might do it.
But its almost impossible for all this to allign.

I think only way they could improve "netcode" is to get better programmers (and mainly directors who know how things should be done) and then update everyone how to optimize things, than go back and optimize it and rework network code. So its basically like tearing house down to its template and rebuilding it with pieces you tore down.

I might be wrong tho. Maybe its not that complicated. I'm just speculating, at worst.

Alternative might be to get all known streamers and MKX community players/members to publicize this. Developers hate bad press. WB might take some financial actions then.

I think only game I hard improved their online is Path of Exile by Grinding Gear Games. But I did not test that personally.

But this game will have some problems if it state of this game will stay like this for next 2-4 years. And for me this means I wont buy next NRS game. I got MK9, was terrible. Got online with MKX four months after release and its BELOW TODAY'S STANDARDS.

Poll I would actually like to see:
I believe NRS will improve MKX netcode
I dont believe NRS will improve MKX netcode
I will not buy next MK game

:D

Yea man definitely agree. You're dead on with the publicity part. If a top player(s) publicly bashed it or if someone like Max bashed it then I'm 100% sure it would be changed by next game. But those guys aren't gonna put themselves out there for image reasons so nothing will change.

As far as changing it right now, people saying "it's too late" are either full of it or have no idea what they're talking about. Tekken 6 had "so-so" Netcode until they spent money and released a patch to it that made it amazing. Battlefield 4 on PS4 had horrendous Netcode for months until they spent money and released a patch to it that made it amazing. There are other examples. The only reason why it isn't getting fixed is because of selfish hogging of money, not capability.

Because of this, I have no doubt Inj2/MK11 will have laughable Netcode yet again. They know this community is so stupid that all they have to do is "here's that DLC yo" and people will give them more money. While other companies put out amazing online experiences and work towards putting out amazing onlines on par with today's expectations, NRS gives you hot doodoo while people thank them for it. If there are 5 good fighting games, and 4 have incredible Netcode, why on earth would I buy the 5th one with ultra input delay and lag??

I'll buy other fighters Day 1 because I know what I'm getting. Next NRS game? Won't even consider buying it until weeks after release and a full consensus that online is amazing like almost every other fighting game.

Normalize grab immunity.
Just stopping by again to reiterate that NRS is the worst at making a functional online experience. I'd buy some xbox live and go play the 20 people still on TTT2 on wifi before buying MKx for PS4. But I already bought the game, so I'll play it for now. But when SFV and later T7 come out I really don't know how much time I'd spend on MKx. Honestly if you aren't a die hard MK fan or a top placing tourney goer I can't recommend purchasing this game. You'd get so much more out of purchasing any fighter released in the last 6 years not by NRS. If you are a die hard MK fan I'll pray for you because only God could convince NRS and WB to actually put in effort to make their game playable.

Signed!

It's ridiculous how some times you push a button and nothing comes out even when there isn't any indication of lag. Waking up online is a 50/50 within itself, because in the back of your mind you're hoping that it will actually come out. The WORST net-code ever.

Injustice net-code play was better than this and that's saying a lot.

passed the 300 mark, Keep it up guys n Girls. 1000 is still the Goal, but 500 isnt a bad number too. dont Forget to share, like and retweet. maybe it could also be spread via twitch Chats and YouTube comments, if no links are allowed then by a nod to tym.
