CoD:Modern Warfare 3 (MW3)

nope. COD is just not looking any different, so I'm not going to spend money on it. I'd rather buy Skyrim..

and to the BF3 question, don't buy it on console if you have the option of buying it on PC. Take the graphical settings on low over the console version, it's far superior..

I play on PS3 and the game is great at it's core but from what I've heard and seen, it's just waaaaaaaaaaay better on PC, even with shit graphics if you can't run it(me). Depends on what you're asking about. Battlefield is battlefield, it's played tactically. Call it camping, fine. Don't care, but you can so easily just throw a grenade or blow up the wall so quit complaining. It's not about kills unless it's TDM, and even then TDM on BF3 is just a cluster fuck with random spawn points.

long story short, play the objective. Rush or conquest. Just do it. Winning > Kill/death

COD is good for mindless killing sprees and shit, that's non-negotiable. It's just that I prefer teamplay and I can't find that in COD, even if the options are there. I play BF3 because it gives more incentive to teamplay, but people still play conquest/rush like TDM so it doesn't make much difference between the two besides the engine differences..

Probably the worst shooter I have seen in the history of my shit life, this game not only has shit packet delivery, but on top of that, is has aim assist. Fucking terrible game, absolutely nothing has changed from MW1. Same game, packaged differently.

And the problem lies where? Console shooters need aim assist, can't be too accurate without it using analog sticks with your thumb. MW1 and MW2 are great games. MW2 had some competitive issues such as balance and broken aspects, but it was still fun and with the right settings competitive.

If you don't like the game, stay out of the thread. No need to post things like the quote above other than to troll and bait arguments.

tbh competitive fps games have gone downhill. I heard some of the MW3 talk from the event they had a few months ago and I was like "...what?" Even MW2 is considered a stepback from MW1. (lets forget BO)

but otherwise im sure MW3 will be a fun casual shooter that anybody can jump into.

I liked World at War because it brought something fresh, Nazi Zombies. I really got stuck to that game, but then Black Ops came out, disapointed me.

catch22

GOD LAO FTW!!!
Actually it does and its very noticeable.
yes it does, and i dont mind it at all.
i play it on pc with a 360 pad xD
dont like using the keyboard for games.

reason i chose pc over console is simple, way better graphics than console.
yeah you need a hefty setup to run it on ultra, but man, is it ever pretty lol

ans as far as MW3? bring it, COD games have always been fun, always :p

You know you can turn aim assist off right? I fucking hated that about black ops more than mw2. In ops the aim assist would kick in before a person was actually in my sights so sometimes it would slightly pull my aim left or right and I'd have a full second or two knowing that someone was in that direction and be able to kill them as they came around a corner...I don't recall having that in MW2...the only other times aim assist has fucked me over is if I'm aiming in the distance at someone and their buddy slices past them horizontally and it will readjust my aim and start tracking the slicer...I die every time that happens.

Aim assist shines the most with drag scope sniping. Been drag scoping since Halo 2, it's just the way I snipe. You can do it without aim assist but with aim assist your reticle slows down once it goes over their body.

this... times a million.

You can say what you will... but in the grand scheme of things companies will make the game basic enough to garner the casual players. The college kids and teenagers that just need a game to play. i'm sure that once MW3 is out... the way to make it competitive will show.

Hey guys, for those who were askin' about battlefield 3. It's fricken awesome!! And those who hate it already because of the beta, you've haven't seen anything. The Map they let you play in the beta was by far the worst map ever, and wdf, you haven't even gotten to touch any of the vehicles yet!!! Ohh and the bugs you saw in the beta, I haven't seen a single on in any of the maps yet.

Only complaint is that when you just started the game, you will suck because you have nothing lol. It's that case in every shooter, but especially in battlefield.

And this is for those who wanna fly jets.......... The learning curve for it is steep as heck. But everything else is child play compared to it.

Played the demo, game is not for me. It seems too hard to spot enemies, plus there was an awful lot of camping, just wasn't fun for me.
I've heard a lot about the camping.. I just want to try out some of the snipers they have. When I heard that the M40A5 was in it I did get a little bit interested.

ahh I can't wait! Freaking pumped! Sniping is so much fun. Alot of people had problems with it in black ops but to be honest I liked it. Took a bit more skill not everyone used it like in MW2. I had over 15k kills with the L9, love the stuff. The problem is how much will the new MW3 consume my life lol. Then again im a fan of RPG's and Elder Scrolls Skyrim is right around the corner. These two games will be all i need to play for next year. Combined with MK of course:top:

I'm just now hearing about some of the features that prestiging offers. Pretty cool, nothing too amazing though. One thing to note is that if you've prestiged in previous CoD games you get some sort of token for it. So go prestige in those games right now if you want.

If you couldn't just hide for 5 seconds to fully regain health I'd probably like this game alot more and possibly buy it.
This. It works for games like Halo since you have a superpowered suit to justify such a thing but this is supposed to be a realistic and tactical shooter? Gimme a break -.- Just too much of a casual game for me. Fun, but way overrated if you ask me.

I'll be busy with BF3. It requires more skill and actual teamwork which to me is more satisfying.

It's funny when people talk about the health regeneration. I mean, you act like you have a lot of health to even regenerate. It's also funny you say it works for Halo since in Halo it's even worse for the very same reason. You can put 4 Battle Rifle shots, 3 bursts counting as one shot, on an enemy in Halo and they can still survive, run, hide and regenerate their health completely. That's 12 bullets they're surviving. Oh, but it's okay because of the theme of the game? It's based on futuristic technology so that makes it justified? So you're not really complaining that you can regenerate health in CoD for gameplay reasons, but just because it's not "realistic"?

Why is it that in almost every CoD topic in forums, or almost every CoD video on youtube, there are people who feel the need to comment on how they think Battlefield is a superior game? What is this compulsion, I wonder? Is it jealousy that CoD gets more attention than BF? I just don't get why you would infiltrate a topic based on a game you do not like, only to state that you don't like that game, and that you prefer another game that's similar to it. Why do you think anyone cares? I'll tell you right now, no one gives a shit. Most of the said people think for some reason that their opinion is a fact, again for whatever reason unknown to me. There's nothing wrong with preferring to play BF oppose to CoD, that's just your preference. But intentionally going out of your way to hate on another game just because you personally happen to not like it is both asinine and just plain childish.

It seems I've not made myself clear in this thread, so I'll do so now. If all you're going to do is come in this thread and say how you hate CoD, the post will be deleted and you'll receive an infraction. If you suggest that BF3 is this, or that, the same will happen. This thread is about CoD MW3, is that so hard to understand? It's fine if you do not like the game or the CoD series, no one is saying you have to like it. What I am saying you have to do is not post it in this thread, because your enticing other people to argue with you. This is not GameFaqs, pointless trolling and arguing is not tolerated here. And in an attempt to prevent this site from ending up as other forums like that, certain measures will be taken when the aforementioned take place. It is absolutely not hard in the very least to follow these guidelines, or the sites guidelines. And it's certainly not hard to have the minuscule amount of self control to not post in a thread about something you don't like. It stops here... that is all.

Hmmm did my post get deleted or something? Just tried editing..anyway what exactly is drag scoping? I've only heard quick/hard scoping for the COD games.

Drag scoping is basically when you have an enemy in your scope but not dead on and you "drag" and shoot at the same time. I've always used a sniper that way.

Yes it did, PM'd you.

Drag scoping first of all usually involves a Sniper. And when zoomed in, you move your reticle over the enemies body in a fast/quick manner and pull the trigger. Pretty simple stuff, but it does require skill and practice to get the timing down. Auto-aim/aim assist helps with this because when you go over their body, the reticle tries to follow their body for a short period of time, causing the reticle to slow down. So on the slow down, that's when you pull the trigger. So you don't necessarily have to see them, just drag scope and wait for the slow down. Like I said though, it does require a lot of practice to master.

I guess drag/quick scoping are the same thing then? You have a tiny window of time where the reticle slows down and you fire a straight shot before your view goes into the scope. The window is small though, you almost have to hit the trigger within less than a second of beginning to aim. I couldn't do that consistently but I've been killed by plenty of people that could. Whenever I get quick scoped it hurts me in real life..*sigh*
