Please explain NJPs/jump attacks in general

So here I go, asking for some help. After plenty of hours playing MK I still have some stuff to learn:

a.) I simply don't understand the frame data of "early" and "late" NJPs.
Early ones must be minus on block, late ones seem to be slightly minus?!
Is it the same with jumpin-kicks?!

b.) Once you land on the floor after jumping, are you able to block right away or is there some sort of "recovery timeframe". What I mean: Is it possible for me to catch a standing opponent with a well-timed full combo after he has jumped, even though he uses block? Or should I try to catch him midair, even though juggling is way harder to start a combo with?!

Thanks in advance!

Mains: Not Sure Right Now ...
A. Not sure exactly. I know if you land them late they hit mid sometimes. This is something i need to lab more.

B. There is start up on block and recovery on jumping. Empty jumps recover almost immediately. Whiffed jump attacks have a longer recovery. Hope that helps.

A) because you just started your jump arc the attack will be mid and it will take you longer to get doen, hence it being more negative, and yes it is the same with kicks

B) it depends on the attack used in the air, if it is say an air fireball like pyromancer tanya then you cannot block immediately, but if it is a jumping 1 or something then yes you can block immediatly

So we talk about being able to block immediatly after landing... are we also able to attack right away or is it more like cassies nutpunch, where you can block but can't do anything else?

What amount of minusframes are we talking about precisely? does anyone know?

Thanks again; for the answers above and also for more incoming input!

yeah right after you land you can attack, and it depends on how many frames into the jump you pressed the button, the later into the jump the attack hits, the less negative it is. since the negative frames are essentially counting how many more frames until you hit the ground with the 1 recovery frame after you hit the ground which, is essentially immediately after you hit the ground

doing a late njk (in the corner), leaves you at an advantageous position, which the opponent has to respect
don't know the frame data though

Interesting how little we know about JI-attacks! Good to see that I am not the only one! :)

The exact framedata would help bigtime. I wonder if it is universal or character specific!

So you think late JI-attacks are plus in general (JIP can be linked, so this is no real issue). Or are they just plus at the corner?

I will edit the first post and sum things up, once we get some precise information on these topics.

Since all characters have different air normals, I would assume it's character specific. I also think some really delayed NJPs are plus on block but I can't recall who at the moment, I don't believe Quan's delayed NJP is plus, but his normal NJP is punishable and whiff punishable. I'm pretty sure his delayed NJK is plus though. I'm not sure exactly this translates to other characters but hopefully it's something to go by.
