Congrats to Sonicfox and everybody who competed lol those last two matches had me on the edge, especially Fox vs Honeybee whooo that was a good one

Fox vs. Fox(y) in Grand Finals? FoxCeption? CAN and UK in Winners Finals? What happened this weekend?!

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON

On a serious note, this was an incredibly enjoyable weekend to watch, and everyone who dared to enter the ring should be proud of what the MK community collectively put together at this EVO. I enjoyed:
  • Seeing Madzin make that spirited run with Sub (and then take a surprising major upset with Blood God Kotal). @Madzin I've liked you ever since that pre-MLG tournament -- you're a great guy and it makes me happy to see you do well.
  • Watching @Tom Brady collect an important scalp -- looking more and more solid bit by bit. The old Clutch Tom was back and it was great to see that this weekend.
  • Milky -- What can you say about this guy. Comes back from the recesses of Time Warner to body half the field at the biggest MK tournament ever. We haven't seen anything like it, and huge kudos to him.
  • Reptile -- The reptilian is for real. Between OFIDYAN, M. Betty, Chris G and MilkySituation you guys wreaked havoc at this tournament and the effects were felt all the way through pools.
  • Seeing Kitana in action on the world's biggest stage -- Kitty players, it's a new era. Go forth boldly and prosper.
  • Seeing Kitana Prime conquer some of his demons and make it out of that pool in W. I know that drop has to disappoint you, but you'll be back for more, and you've stuck with Kitty till the end.
  • Seeing Ketchup and Mustard these last two weeks -- you guys came over to another country to compete in your first big MKX tournaments, with impressive results. That takes some stones and it was neat to watch both of you again for the first time in so long.
  • @YOMI Zyphox -- You know I love you man. You've been an underdog for the longest time, and when you were struggling with Takeda some said that it was just your natural ability as a player. You've proven a lot of people wrong. This EVO was your biggest moment and it was fantastic to watch you stay so cool under fire. Congratulations to you. Don't let this get to your head -- keep growing, grinding, and getting better.
  • @YOMI MITYEAP and @YOMI DJT -- you know I love you guys too, and it's awesome to see you both do so well through so many years. You said early on that Vegas was going to be a force to be reckoned with in MKX and you've backed up your talk in scores. Congrats to both of you for being brothers in a huge Top 8, and to the whole YOMI crew who helped everyone train and level up.
  • Seeing Big D -- This might be the best you've ever played, and you were a hair's edge away from Top 8. Congrats to you and to the whole EVB crew, and it's cool that you were able to rep Ermac so well at EVO.
  • @cR WoundCowboy -- So close man, so close. You went the farthest of the Shinnok crew. You had the gall to switch mains before EVO and you trained, grinded it out and made it to 9th out of 1200 guys. Tons of respect and best of luck moving forward.
  • The SNKE -- This tourney was huge for you as well, and it was really cool to watch you notch that huge upset in semis. It was great to watch you play, and if you're committed to grinding I know it's only going to get better for you from here.
  • @A F0xy Grampa -- The spotlight's been on your ever since pre-EVO 2012, and I know sometimes the pressure has to build; but you came and delivered this year and did everything you said you'd do. There are few people who can say they're been in an EVO grand finals and you are now one of them. You know I've been one to jest in the past when things didn't work out -- but no one can take this away. Major congrats, and spare me a $dollar from all that money you've won this year :p

Awesome top8, i was originally hoping that someone else than SonicFox would win but since he repped that Kitana, i am happy with this result aswell. Foxy didn't look like he was in it as well after losing the first GF set but well played nevertheless atleast it was close and was awesome to see UK and europe get into top 3. Grats to HoneyBee aswell, it was so close.

You cant blow up people for it since MKX is more like Inj than MK9.

Why not? It's bizarre that people assumed MKX would play more like the second-to-last NRS game than like the most recent one just because it's called MK.

Did you not see Foxy trying to whiff punish a string by backdashing and getting hit on the process?

You cant even whiff punish strings in this game by back dashing. You gotta jump like crazy which looks scrubby but it works since AAs dont work for shit.

great top 8. milky ran it v close with MIT, great games. unfortunately ketchup couldnt get anything going but still top 8! best set of the whole thing was honeybee vs sonicfox for me, amazing stuff. congrats to sonic fox aka young furry rich as fuck
