Caltrops being the final hit of Evo might be my favorite thing in the history of NRS games. Congrats to everyone, great Top 8. Far and away the best Evo for an NRS game I think. So many great matches.

It's funny, but it's not like some amazing thing that happened. He had a huge lifelead and was up a round, foxy had literally 1 pixel left. Caltrops were just styling, not some amazing play, he dropped them right under his feet. It's not like during TCW where Kung Lao teleported into caltrops, THAT was some crazy shit.

Also, major props to the top placers. Zyphox and Milky Situation surprised me the most. Was glad to see some international competition, I know the international scene will only grow from here.


Edit: Also shoutout to the Terry Bros. At least one of them has places top 8 in every NRS top 8 game. Good to see both make top 8 also.

SonicFox vs HoneyBee was definitely the highlight for me. That was SUCH an awesome set.

I figured Foxy was doomed--SonicFox has far too much Kung Lao knowledge from facing DJT all the time. I don't think it mattered if he used Tempest OR Buzzsaw. This is why you should always have a secondary to fall back on just in case. Just might win you EVO. ;P

Great showing for Foxy though. I was disappointed with Ketchup--not a fan of him (or his bro), sad to say. I hear them critique everyone so much on their YouTube vids to the point that it just annoyed me.

Really wanted to see more Milky! He and MIT had a great set. =/

Couldn't have asked for a different set of players to play grand finals.
Honestly I was of course hoping @A F0xy Grampa would take it.
But to be fair, @SonicFox5000 deserved it. (They both did of course)
I expected F0xy to switch to Tempest after the first loss against Sonic's EB, but then again I'm going to assume he was just thinking that Sonic would switch back to Kitana after a loss then anyway.
I think everyone got the grand finals with the 2 people they have been wanting to see go head to head for weeks on end now.
This time the USA took the throne, but who knows what will happen next year.

I was impressed by @HoneyBee 's performance.
And @PND_Ketchup showing us why he was at Fatal 8 in the first place.
And of coarse Milky placing top 8 with Reptile!

All in all, the entire top 8 was pretty hype, but would have wanted to see some closer matches instead of pretty much every match being a 2-0 decider.

Congrats to everyone placing in top 8, you guys all deserved it.

Congratulations to SonicFox! Such an impressive showing. Another round of congratulations need to be doled out to everyone who made Top 8. Honeybee's journey was so exciting and it got to a point where I really thought he would take it. Ketchup's matches had me on the edge of my seat and he more than proved that he's one of the best around. And let's not forget MIT, whose Tanya is simply magical. Great stuff guys!
