Gesture Required Ahead
Get on that hook
This will be a cleaned up version of this thread: http://testyourmight.com/threads/connecting-to-online-issues.53160/
This is a quick description as to what this is:
For some reason, on the Xbox One version of MKX, random connections get targetted by what I'm going to call from now on the "loading screen of death", name courtesy of a TYM member whose name escapes me at the moment. What this does is that when you boot up the game, the "Updating Game Data" screen that normally takes less than 5 seconds to load up now takes at least 2 minutes if not more. And where it gets really bad is when you go Online. The "Connecting to Online" screen that normally takes AT MOST 30 seconds now lasts at least 5 minutes and sometimes on the worst case, 20 minutes. If the loading screen wasn't bad enough, your game now functions as if the NAT Type were set to Moderate or Strict even when it's Open. Meaning that you will have a hard time connecting to people and may or may not be able to go into the Rooms. And last but not least, when you do actually get into a game, the delay is so bad that it's borderline playable. Worse than the fuck awful that is the "usual".
There is only a tenporary single but highly inconvenient solution we have found so far and that is to play on a different connection. The 2 ways we have found so far are:
1)Playing on a different Xbox even when connected to the same Network
2)Connecting your xbox to a different router even if said router is connected to the main network
We also have tried countless of other solutions in order to try and fix this problems ourselves and most did not work besides the ones listed above in the white text. The failed solutions include:
Resetting the internet
Re-installing DLC
Re-installing the game
Restoring the Xbox to factory default
Port-forwarding
Switching from wired to wireless and vice-versa
Removing DLC
Clearing the cache
Enabling DMZ
Switching accounts
Deleting and re-downloading accounts
Deleting Save files
Hard resetting the Xbox
Testing the multiplayer connection and holding the 4 shoulder buttons to confirm the NAT Type
Playing a Living Tower
Delinking WB account
Re-linking WB account
Spoofing MAC address
Using a static IP and DNS
Using a static DNS only
This issue has started around the time of Tanya's release. To me, personally I believe it was a day or 2 after TCW.

Many players also tried to contact NRS, WB and Microsoft to get them to notice this but have had little to no response. Paulo himself has been tagged several times in the "Connecting to Online issues" thread. The latest update we have is @tupacshakur99 who claims to have spoken to Paulo via stream chat about this and Paulo saying that he was not aware that this issue existed until recently and that he'd speak to the appropriate people. There is also another TYM user @shogunoflive who claims to be an NRS employee and has spoken to @call ME damo about this issue only to tell him that the problem was either on Damo's end or Microsoft's. But seeing that this issue does not affect Damo alone clearly shows that this is not in fact, a specific issue that occurs to a single person.
We are unsure if this will ever get fixed and some even have lost hope and nobody can blame them. I personally bought an X1 for this game and it is a damn shame that I don't even get to play it.

PS: I request to the mods for this thread to not be merged with the "Connecting to Online Issues" thread as it is too clustered and dated. I want this thread to be a clean restart with a clear description of the problem as well as to show the collective effort that many put on to try and find a solution to this problem.

BIG UPDATE: A 3RD TEMPORARY SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND
It seems that using a VPN can also temporary bypass the LSoD. User @MadCntt has been kind enough to provide a simple way to use one with a software program called Spotflux. It seems unclear as to how it works for now but it seems to be a similar problem to another game called Warframe where certain IPs would get stuck in a security check bug. It sounds a lot how like the LSoD targets random Xbox users and how it can be temporarily bypassed by switching connections or consoles.
Here's Madcntt's post as to how to get this to work for you

Here's Madcntt's post as to how to get this to work for you
I personally have yet to try this myself because Spotflux doesn't start-up for me for some weird reason but a few members who have tried this such as Madcntt and @K7L33THA can confirm that it works.First of all i would like to say that i had 6 people try this so far and it fixed the LSoD for all 6 of them. Not only that, but 5 of them told me the online experience in general felt better than before on MK X (I can as well confirm this myself)
Now, I'm pretty sure every gamer has heard of VPNs, they are highly popular for PC gaming and became very popular on consoles as well, due to many people, especially "pro players" getting DDoS attacks during their tournament matches in Call of Duty or others.
I guess the main reason why people don't use them as much for console gaming is simply cause it takes a bit more effort to set them up compared to playing from your PC.
I am nowhere near an expert on any PC related stuff however even I was able to set up a VPN within a few minutes to work on the Xb1, as well as the others i mentioned, simply following a guide on how to set it up.
Sharing VPN connection through your PC
To be able to create this set-up you will need a VPN Account (see below for our recommendations), at least one Ethernet cable and of course an Xbox and a computer. We will show you how to set it up in both Windows and OSX and if you are running Linux then there are plenty of websites to help you on the internet.
Sharing a VPN Connection with Windows 7
This is the one i used, then again, there are MULTIPLE guides, even a bunch of youtube tutorials for every OS and how to enable the Connection Sharing for your VPN to work on your console.
- Set up your VPN connection using the instructions/software from the provider or using the native client as we describe in our guide: How to Setup VPN in Windows 7.
- Connect your computer to your router either through WiFi or by using an Ethernet cable
- Connect your Xbox to the PC using the Ethernet cable making sure that the ‘IP Settings’ and ‘DNS Settings’ are set to ‘Automatic’ (Settings -> System Settings -> Network Settings through your Xbox Menu)
- Open the ‘Network and Sharing Centre’ on your computer in one of the below ways and click ‘Change adapter settings’
- Right click your internet connection in the system bar
- Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center
- Find your VPN connections – identifiable by the ‘Tap-Windows Adapter V9′ (or similar) label. We recommend you rename it by right clicking it to something more suitable. Then right click and chose ‘Properties’
- Under the ‘Sharing’ tab check the ‘Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection’ box. Then from drop down menu choose ‘Local Area Connection’ (if you have multiple Ethernet ports or a computer that can host a WiFi connection then make sure you select the correct one), then click ‘Ok’.
- Restart your PC and your Xbox and you should be ready to play securely.
You can use any VPN, I used Spotflux as a friend of mine, who got DDoSd during his CoD matches, suggested that I should use it as well and I'm a very happy with it. It's very easy to set up and offers a ton of servers to connect to.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask
Good luck and enjoy playing MK X again and of course a HUGE thanks to NRS for supporting us so hard -______-
