Let's talk: MKX on PC

Don't worry, IGAU 2 and MK XI gonna be probably the same shit on PC like MK X and Batman. They just don't care. Well they maybe care a little now since the new Steam refund system but thats only because they have no say about it.
Pls no...I'm looking forward to IGAU2 more than I was MKX...please just don't be so lazy NRS (netcode...). With SF5 and KI coming to PC next year I may be forced to just quit NRS games forever if these other 2 games are done well. It's 2015, there's just no excuse for this quality any more.

Hopefully, Steam Refunds will change this. As I'm sure you're aware, they pulled Batman: Arkham Knight from sales because of all the refunds, and it wouldn't surprise me if Steam _made_ them as the distributor.

Those refunds are costing Steam as well, so not only does WBIE have a lot of rightly angry customers, but now they have the biggest PC digital distribution service likely saying a thing or two to them as well.

I can't say what the future will bring, none of us can, but this is overall a step in the right direction.

WBIE primarily cares about profit, and this is hurting said profits. Realistically, they'll either be more careful going forward, or stop releasing on PC. We'll need to wait and see.

Any game that NetherRealm Studios develops, I simply assume will have poor online. I figured this after hearing they didn't improve much with Injustice: Gods Among Us, and Mortal Kombat X lived up to my expectations.

Stand Back I'm a Doctor!!!!!!
I miss the good old days when a game was made to completion and dlc was an actual separate addition to the game

Fighting games are almost always p2p. There is no point in dedicated servers. They just should use GGPO and all would be great...

This pretty much. I'm expecting the same shitty ass netcode in IGAU 2 (which is now in the works) and MK XI. It's NRS / WB = if it's selling well there is no point in changing things.

Autistic HVS employee confirmed. So did you guys get all the meth out of the office before boon came and shitcanned your whole company? (I want to believe)

It seems you cant wrap your head around that a million dollar production that fails to deliver is nothing else. abject failure. All you have to do is play USFIV PC online, Skullgirls online, then play MKX PC online to compare. It's an unbelievable disparity. Compared to some of the algorithms required for some of these MOBAs these days (think 5 on 5, or 10Factorial mathematics summing netcode) like Dota 2, and they're running frame-tight cast points and startup animations much like a fighting game and .000001 chance of random disconnect, a 1v1 fighting algorithm should be fucking flawless in 2015, no excuses.

I miss the days when bosses fired people for failing at their jobs.

A few corrections:

- I'd be very surprised that Jynx is a High Voltage Software Employee
- Ed Boon would not be able to fire High Voltage Software. Only Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment could terminate that contract.
- While I haven't played it, many have said Ultimate Street Fighter IV was horrible on PC for about a year.
- Any game that NetherRealm Studios develops is horrible online. This includes the console versions. It was like this for Mortal Kombat (2011) and Injustice: Gods Among Us, and I'm surprised that anyone is surprised this happened with Mortal Kombat X.

Having said this, I hope they are able to further improve the PC version with future patches for a much better experience.

USF4 was good before GFWL dropped. Then it was bad when it went to steam network. Everyone's saying they fixed it though and some have even changed reviews on steam to "recommended" for that reason. SF5 and KI is coming to PC. Maybe if there is a huge decrease in MK players on PC around then WB will make sure PC works day 1 with fantastic netcode and never gets behind on patches.

That make no sense at all.

Netcode is the same and shit a cross all platforms. KI was released like 2 years ago on X1 and that didn't change anything for MK netcode. They don't care about such a things. WB cares only about money and MK X sold REALLY WELL which means IGAU 2 and probably MK XI gonna have the same netcode as MK9/IGAU/MK X.

Why bother to change something if it sells well?

The hope here again now, especially on PC, is Steam Refunds. We should all pay good attention to what happens with Batman: Arkham Knight now.

For a second thought you were against what I was saying lol. As @Juxtapose said, with steam refunds if they fuck up the pc port they'll feel it. Right where it counts the most for any of these publishers to care.

Yup. The question I don't know the answer to, of course, is what they'll do after that as they have two options:

1) Create better quality PC ports to avoid the refunds.
2) Stop porting to PC and focus exclusively on consoles.

I think they'd have to port to PC because other FG devs are seeing PC as a viable platform and it will only get bigger in the future. Plus WB is going to port everything else they have over so might as well get more profits instead of not trying to. But for some reason I can so see them just saying no to PC just for NRS games.

Yeah, it could go either way, of course. It simply depends how much they're willing to spend.

Remember, the Mortal Kombat series wasn't on PC from about, what, 1999 to 2012 or something. That's a long drought.

But, that's a possible tomorrow and not today, so we'll see!

Why wb hates pc, piracy can't be a reason, check out the witcher sales, just why
Piracy can always be a reason, and publishers and developers have exaggerated the damage it does to force more constraints that mostly effect honest paying customers as opposed to the actual pirates.

Having said that, piracy is indeed an issue as it is theft, and people need to stop doing it.

My take on it is if you're going to pirate, then you're going to pirate, but since you're a thief you have no right to complain about the product. If you bought it legit, then you absolutely have a right to complain (constructively) when there's issues with the product.

Hey all,

Started playing Mortal Kombat X online recently (PC version), and I don't exactly know how to create a new Public King of the Hill match (Klassic or Survivor). I know how to search for a match and I'm assuming selecting "Private" lets you create a Private match for just buddies, but how do you create a new Public match for randoms to join?

Also, the Room Matchmaking options on the main Online Screen; what exactly does that do?

Thanks!
