Why MKX will be around long time.

I kind of hope NRS holds off on their next game and keeps supporting this one to make it last as long as they can. So far, out of MK9, IGAU, and MKX this one (MKX) is my favorite by a long shot, at least in terms of the actual gameplay. I would rather them keep supporting this game than ditching it for Injustice 2 (which I will play) but

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
It will only last until the next NRS game. That's how WE roll around here.
After reading the Injustice years 1-4 series of comics I aint lying when I say I'd be in hardcore once a sequel is announced and focused on it heavily. Hell the comic has had Batwoman, Huntress, Constantine, Poison Ivy, Captain Cold, Swamp Thing, Black Canary, and more and more and more...so much I'd flip for.

Till then though...I got NO PROBLEM enjoying MKX. Game is fun.

There is actually a lot of truth in what you are saying. One of the most important improvements MKX made over MK9 is the input timing and responsiveness. In MK9 inputs were somewhat stiff and unresponsive which made execution overly hard, plus there were some moves for which the timing was extremely strict, such as after Raiden's Shocker. By contrast, inputs in MKX feel smooth and responsive, i.e. as soon as I press a direction or a button my character just moves exactly as I expect them to, and that creates a positive feedback loop in the player's mind and they feel a little sense of satisfaction each time that happens, which ultimately results in a more enjoyable gameplay experience. In addition, during a match we can now focus on strategizing as opposed to fighting with the controls.

So in a sense, MKX is less execution heavy, but still challenging enough to where you have to actually spend quite a bit of time practicing in order to get good at it.

It will be around a long time because the game is fun. It's extremely fast paced with huge momentum swings happening all the time. It will keep stream monsters happy with their 5 nanosecond attention span.

Also if NRS continues to supprt the game with $$$ at tournaments and what not players will keep on playing it.

This game is cheap as hell and may be a big set play mess currently but man is it fun.

The game will last as long as it's supported. Once the developers stop supporting it, which is usually around 2 years from launch, this will also be around the time the "new NRS game" will be coming out. Thus people will start to care less and less for MKX since the new hype is coming and NRS has stopped patching MKX.

We live by the patch, we die by the patch. - NRS community

Neither is yours. I hate this silly response to an opinion "well that's just an opinion". So what, so is everything in this thread, he can voice his too.

You are right about the variations not being useless, but he is right about them sucking so far. Almost every character has a defined best variation, Kenshi is is one of the outliers
sadly, your opinion is not the only possible one. rekt.

Shoot them. Shoot them all.
This game is fun and very pretty, but I have said since like week 5, there is no way in hell in this game will last as long as mk9 or injustice combined.

Too many people hate it...too many people have dropped it. Its just a mess.

SFV will completley obliterate this game...competively speaking.

Where there is smoke, there is cancer.
No Online = Dead to all but tourney players in 6 months.

No meta beyond 50/50 into corner carry for OS 50/50 safe pressure, rinse, repeat = Dead when SFV hits.

I'm actually not very optimistic at this point.
This.

I'm trying to find a new hobby so I can just stop playing, I don't like it when everyone has safe 50/50's. A 50/50 should be unsafe as fuck, full combo punishable. It's the reason I just can't play injustice.

The most fun I've had in this game is playing Relentless Jason because he has to work hard for his wins and doesn't revolve around 50/50's. He's a grappler and it's different from other characters. I main Cassie and she's not as fun because she relies on 50/50's quite a lot. Which I don't like.

Actually, that is not almost 75% of TYM. That is almost 75% of the people who happened to both open as well as actually respond to that thread. (For example, I clicked on that thread days ago, but still have yet to actually respond - my answer would be somewhere in between - i.e. "Yes, but not that much trouble") Your statement that "Almost 75% of TYM disagrees" is highly problematic.

...and here is the appropriate rebuttal...

Quoted so I can blow you up a year from now. :REO

But the NRS community is more concerned with their games dying than thriving. Its like they want to teach NRS a lesson for not making the game they wanted.

Once the option selects have been nailed, the game won't be so much caked in 50/50s as it will in safe 50/50s.

Who wants to travel for a game like that?
