In real life fighting...blocking does chip damage to the opponent
I don't play raiden so I can't say for sure, but thats how it works in general. Might be that raidens strings have special meter building properties, but I don't think so. I'm gonna check this within the next days. You sure? It seems Raiden might be an exception. Something like b3,2 looks like it builds way more meter than a non multi hitting 2 attack string
Can you post the blockstring you are talking about?Meter building off RC needs scaled. Scorpion shouldn't get a bar from a blockstring at the end of every combo plus tonnes of chip

Who are the characters with "stupid blockpressure"? In general the pressure ends after strings and you can backdash, neutral jump, armour, counterpoke, throw, start offence or what ever. All true blockstrings that include more than one string need one meter for the repetition, like KL's 11212 xx MB hatspin 11212, and build less meter than spent. So from a meter building perspective it doesn't pay off. I can't think of any exception right now, but if you do let me know.why would simply "being active" be rewarded? the way it is now, characters with stupid block pressure get rewarded so that they can do even more of it, while its super hard (and probably needs meter) to get out. if their activity is good, like in opening up people, they should be rewarded with meter, but so should the opponent be for playing good defense.
Is this a true blockstring? I admit this will build a good chunk of meter (but why spend it again fot the ex fireball at the end?)flame aura~21~teleport, 214~fbc~214~fbc~214~ex fireball
of course temptest kung lao, impostor shinnok, also hellfire scorpion and comes to mind. yes, they require meter (except scorpion), but they build half of it back while doing their stuff (especially thanks to 4-5 hit strings) and you take a lot of chip. would you only say its really good if it built equal meter as spent? it would be a block infinite, and right now its borderline to that. they can continuously hit you on block for more than 10 seconds and even have meter for a 30+ percent combo left if you get mixed up at one point. thats why i think the defender should get the meter for blocking correctly, to earn the chance for momentum by good defense.Who are the characters with "stupid blockpressure"? So unless your oponent spends meter he shouldn't hit you with more than one string on block. If he does, then maybe you don't utilize all your options yet. Not saying it's easy, but we've only been playing this game for some weeks. In half a year or a year, when everyone knows the strings and the options, this might be no problem any more.
The white part is a small combo to setup the orange part which is the blockstring. Is this a true blockstring? I admit this will build a good chunk of meter (but why spend it again fot the ex fireball at the end?)
I find myself when put in that block string...letting go of block at the 4 taking the hit and avoiding the rest of the chip....get me out of there lolThe white part is a small combo to setup the orange part which is the blockstring.
Out of his combos scorpion do this blockstring and spend a meter to stay safe so he can pressure you all over again with B32F2, or D1 into 214~fbc reps.
Its pretty deadly in the corner.
Unless of course as a scorpion main myself, i read that and cancel the last hit at the 4 with ex spear and pull you back in for another big combo into the same situation again.I find myself when put in that block string...letting go of block at the 4 taking the hit and avoiding the rest of the chip....get me out of there lol
True that, I've been hit with EX spear for doing it often lolUnless of course as a scorpion main myself, i read that and cancel the last hit at the 4 with ex spear and pull you back in for another big combo into the same situation again.
That's no small readUnless of course as a scorpion main myself, i read that and cancel the last hit at the 4 with ex spear and pull you back in for another big combo into the same situation again.
Scorpion can do up to 3 FBC after that he has almost built one bar of meter. Ending the last 214 into MB fireball gives him Frame advantage on block to keep the pressure on/ repeat the whole thing again cuz the stamina bar will recharg after the mb fireball. After any Fbc u cant Counterpoke or Armor ur simply too many frames behind him to do that. Same goes for High tech jacqui, Lui kang , D'vorah, Tanya, Johnny Cage, Raiden while im not sure how many reps each of them can do i know liu kang can do 2 reps, D'vorah can do 3 just like Scorpion and Raiden can only do 1.Who are the characters with "stupid blockpressure"? 214 Fbc is a true blockstring with +20 frame advantage after each rep, ending it in MB fireball gives u Frame advantage without Doing run cancel while the stamina recharges and u have already almost built One bar during the process. Is this a true blockstring? That coming from a Venomous D'Vorah player really says something. NRS really needs to do betas from here on out. So many questionable decisions and bugs. The problem is that a lot of pressure characters build meter so quickly AND do a ton of chip damage. If it was one or the other it wouldnt be nearly as bad, but as it stands the defender gets punished way too hard.
She's one of the worst offenders. Although her spray is super punishable so there is at least a tradeoff. A lot of characters are safe on top of the meter building and chip. That coming from a Venomous D'Vorah player really says something. NRS really needs to do betas from here on out.
