Cossner (who, I admit, thinks Reptile should get buffs) gets multiple SFB off, many of which he can follow in here... vs Sabin (with the dumb, dumb Raiden who is able to punish just about everything in this game) who is ostensibly better than you and me, no? So it isn't a matter of "it only works on the shitty and the dumb." Quit the tired hyperbole, it's why this thread can only marginally be taken seriously.

For the record, I'm not even necessarily opposed to decreasing recovery or what have you, but the amount of bitching and moaning in this thread is exhausting. If even a third of the proposed changes would go through, Reptile would spike to truly dumb and truly broken which I have a feeling is exactly what the loudest portions of the Reptile army want. At this point, any buffs need to be small and thoughtful. If there is really a damage increase coming, let's just shut the fuck up for a while and try it out.

No matter how good the player is, lack of MU knowledge is still lack of MU knowledge. Arturo wasn't even punishing EX Swipe nor POINT BLANK FORCEBALLS. Do you have any idea as to how fucking negative that is?

Thats some very early and the meta has evolved past that. We both play very differently now and I'd take that gameplay with a grain of salt.

I don't disagree necessarily, but right now high level gameplay is too rare to make any meaningful conclusions. We are still dealing with the ramifications of bullshit option selects that artificially boost the strength of some characters (Raiden at the top tier and Mileena toward the bottom). We are still dealing with characters that might be too strong skewing any meaningful results regarding the rest of the characters (like why the same 3 characters are winning all the things).

Like I said a post before the one you quoted, I don't necessarily think he should or shouldn't get buffs. I'm of the opinion that he is fine except for damage, and so I'd absolutely like to wait and see how he performs after a damage buff.

The problem is there is an army of ideologues in this thread who will refuse to admit to anything other than Reptile being garbage. FBs are usable if not a little niche. His frames aren't the worst in the game neither is his range. His buttons are actually pretty decent. He might have holes which might need filled, but heavy handed buffs like the vast majority of what has been suggested here are the wrong way to go about it.

Shouldn't there be a "it's too early" option? I'm not a pro or anything, but either way I feel like it may be too early to determine if a character is bottom five.

But I will admit that Reptile is one of my favorite characters in the series, and despite having a good understanding of the character I can't really get anything going with him vs competent players.

I don't know who that is and I didn't watch esl but I know that I play a handful of really solid raiden consistently (one being jwong) and I am feeling that mu is even.

Make The EX Stop to the forceball actually have some use
Make his forceballs fast enough for him to run behind them (UMK3)
Reduce the forceball recovery

I tend to record matches against people where I'm likely to learn something, and apparently tons of other folks do too. Also, you have rematches automatically saved of your last 10 matches, so you could use that, too.

The only thing that sucks about that is that your matches in the Replays section no longer work if a new patch comes out.
