What's new

Let's talk: MKX on PC

Let's hope it's not gonna take as much time as that cuz let's face it implementing balance updates is way easier compared to what they had to do with this patch.
I tested the new patch for a couple of player games and yeah 4 bars feels great, no idea if the memory leak is REALLY fixed gonna test that out in tomorrows stream.
So... how are things working out for you guys ?
memory leak is fixed in my part, the ram didn't exceed 2 gigs when I played the game, the last time it going up until 6 gigs and counting.
I guess PC always gonna be the last for MKX

Hi there..

PC got the Tanya patch.. but the patch notes do not have anything in it about the balance patch.. in fact as far as I know none of the patches had a balance patch.

Dose anyone know and simple tests I can do to see if the balance patches have come down?

There are a few new moves and stuff I could try right?

(Sorry of this is not the correct place)

PC will be last unless NRS delays the console patches until HVS is done porting them. I assume HVS gets the patches around the time NRS submit them to Sony/Microsoft to get verified.

I for one am happy that it is getting fixed but i feel any complaint is valid when the product isn't up to par. It's not like this was some crazy no one saw coming file corruption. Just a port not being worked on enough. The console versions aren't like this. The fact that it can even be seen as a joke to wonder what this patch breaks seems to be a testament to how bad things were rather than "whining". If someone really wrongs me i don't just turn the other cheek when it seems like they are working on fixing the problem. It takes way longer to gain trust than to lose it.

dose anyone know if the balance changes hit PC.. they are not listed on the patch notes on steam.

Is there any easy tests I can do to see if PC is updated to console with balance?

For me, it's not what people are saying, but how, and the general lack of any positivity when good stuff does happen. That just has me shaking my head..
I agree. The PC community is massively toxic. Not just in this game, but in all games. Any big PC game and the forums are a total mess. Just look at Witcher 3 for a recent example.

I've been a lucky one. I have had pretty much zero problems, from the streaming install working perfectly to a full frame rates on day 1, no save data losses and I never encountered the Krypt bugs.. and I am not trying to downplay it, obviously people are having legit problems.

Still I can not understand the behavior of many of the PC community. 1/2 the time they are complaining about something so trivial like a 30fps drop on xrays or it is just a complete fiction. Also, and I know I am probably not talking to anyone on this site, there is a large amount of people only playing the warez version and much of the crashing and drops is form the that. You can tell form the things they complain about that have been fixed, like the animation walk always still get talking about on steam.

My problem is that my experience with the game on PC has been extremely good. In fact the only thing I hate about it, is the PC community.

If you bought MKX PC and got the Chicago-style deepdick, maybe you can try to get a refund. Steam updated its refund policy recently. If enough people do it, then I'm sure it will make a difference.

This is amazing! Finally! There is no arguing now that gaming should solely be done on PC. The way of life is just so much more beneficial to the actual gamer than these money grubbing companies. Sorry off topic, my bad.

The smart stuff!
I think I can say it did. There's an issue with only two cores being used up to almost 100% on quad or more cores processors . I tried to apply some fix from Steam and crashed shortly after. When tried it again though game was stable (and load divided nicely among all 4 cpus). So far, so good.

My completely brief report on the patch:

Definite improvements and steps in the right direction.

Online is still a hot mess. Even at 3 bars I was 'underwater'. If I want to get on and grind out training or run a few towers, everything is great. If I want to go and play online... I'll stick with Skullgirls, the Arcsys games on my PS3, and SFIV.

Yeah sorry for lashing out like that. It's just frustrating to still be stuck with a sub-par version of a good game this long after it launched.
No need to apologize at all, and your frustration is 100% understandable and warranted.

They do seem to be going in the right direction today, so hopefully that momentum can keep up.

Looks like the update did not include any balance... Raiden's F1 is still MID.

Have we got ANY of the balance changes? As in any of the old ones?

My experience is very similar and I agree with most of your points. I don't find it limited to PC communities though, I find any game community on any platform is often like this.

Again, I have no issue at all with people having legit complaints about legit broken stuff, and (constructively) expressing those frustrations; that's 100% cool. It's so much of the petty stuff that just blows my mind.

Like the 30 FPS X-Rays and such you mention. That is a thing, Fatalities and X-Rays are locked at 30 FPS. Is that a game breaking thing? No! People who actually can't play the game because it's broken, that's game breaking. That's the stuff that WBIE and HVS should be working on fixing first and foremost, not unlocking a frame rate in a scripted animation that doesn't actually affect gameplay. If they can unlock those later when other stuff is fixed, great, but that's not a key item.

And yet the way some people go on about those, mainly in the Steam Forums from what I've seen, is just incredible.

For me with Mortal Kombat X, I've also only had minor issues, and I know that makes me one of the lucky ones. That doesn't excuse the problems the game has had though.

Heh, if it was really limiting itself to two cores that'd hurt performance.

Good to read. I'm downloading the patch now, and there's also a new nVidia driver released on Sunday that I'll update to as well.

We'll see how it works for me in a bit.

More like a hotfix because you need to be connected to the internet to get these updates. However, there was big improvement in the game as a whole, and even online. This is a step in the right direction, but still i think this is "patch" 1.05 not 1.06 as the consoles already have and does not include the hotfixes that was recently updated. it show that the Jason dlc will be "soon" on the main menu when Jason is already released lol...

I don't actually play these games
It doesn't freeze anymore in the first 10 seconds of startup so it's a fucking start. I'm still getting some screen tearing issues and artifacts and weird framerate drops but it's definitely playable now.

You really just can't please some people can you? Read this twitter post. https://mobile.twitter.com/NetherRealm/status/605782347456217091

The game runs tons better after the latest patches. Play the game or don't, but stop creating drama over spilled milk.

Screen tearing is usually related to Vsync. What's your setting set to?

You should be able to switch it to "Fixed" to remove screen tearing, but if the frame rate drops, you'll get input delay and slow down.
