New York 2015 MKX Thread

Don't Listen, Save Money
Alright guys it looks like overall Thursday is most convienient to everyone i've been in contact with. A few of the people over on SRK can't make fridays, and seems even if its not ideal most can make Thursday. I'm going to call and confirm with Steven later, and will ask to begin next week. Once thats confirmed, I will make both a facebook group and individual threads on both here and SRK.

Yea sorry for the delay guys. Been extremely busy of late. I talked to Clarkson again last night and went over both Thursday and Friday with him. Both are fine. Thursday we have until roughly 11, friday a bit later. I get out of work both days at 7, and it would take me about a half hour to get over there, maybe a little later. So I'm thinking we do Thursday at either 7 if you guys wanna show up a little earlier than me, or 7:30. This gives us 3.5-4 hours of gametime. Sound good to everyone? If so, I'll call later today to confirm and our first meeting will be 5/21.

They have Fraud City in lower Manhattan on Baxter street. It had strong play and really good competition last week. I'm going next week on the 30th. They have it every other Thursday.

Next level is in Brooklyn a little farther out. But also has really good competition and its on Wednesdays.

Those are the locals that I know of. There's a lot of players in nyc though, we need to do a better job of uniting.

@R.E.O. I guess you mean the city only? In western NY (Buffalo), they have done a 180 in their enthusiasm for MK. A few of us were odd man out offline for the longest time, but now we have contenders going to Toryuken this weekend. Let me know if you all are interested in a East vs West NY battle someday...Our sponsor loves hosting tournaments & events. Curbo won the last one.

I'm from NYC / LI part of NY mainly but this thread is for NY in general. I would be totally up for a team battle of east vs west NY one day.

I don't have a specific location. I dont mind hosting it at my place or going to someone's place. Which btw, since anyone free today(Friday), I would love to practice some matches since I'm free after 3pm

I believe a few people will be showing up a little earlier than that, but thats the official time and when I'll be able to make it. They will run until about 11pm. I made a facebook group to better organize and coordinate everything, so feel free to join if you plan on attending. Looking forward to this thursday!

It's a shame the most robust city in the country has zero places to play in it anymore. That I know of at least.

For anyone willing to take the trip to Long Island we've been doing casuals every Thursday in West Babylon. We usually have around 3 setups going for MKX. There's other games like SF4 and Guilty Gear played as well. We're also starting sessions for MKX on Tuesdays as well.
