How often do you get hit by X-rays online?

The Farmer

Gunslinger since pre ptch -Shout out 2 Youphs 2015
At the start of the 2nd round against noobs. Makes my blood boil. Usually scorpion noobs. THE START OF THE SECOND ROUND? I usually get a good laugh going now whe it happens.

Win At All Cost
About 3 times per game, because somehow my opponent is always able to get 3 bars 20 after using his last x-ray. It doesn't help that for whatever reason NRS made 90% of them overheads. So even if I am blocking, Its usually low (because you know that what i should be doing) and I get boned.

Haven't played too many matches online, but I have yet to get hit by one. Most of the people I've played so far either forget they have it or I've managed to block.

If I hit 3 or more consecutive nut punch resets and they have full meter, I know the X Ray is coming soon, but I STILL get hit by them frequently.

"My kunai will find it's mark."
If I'm playing for srs almost never. But half the time the competition is so pathetic, that the opponent will be getting near flawlessed. They have nothing to make me fear them at that point. So...just going for mix up instead of any bait tactics is generally what I do. So I get hit with the X-ray more times than not, and I just think....woopty doo that was your last ditch effort before you die. lol

It's the worst getting hit by a random X-ray, mainly because you just have to sit there and take it. Scorpions is good too, full screen armored psychocrusher ftw!

Yolo X-rays are actually not a terrible option either. Some are safe, most if not all are amored, most are quick, and most do at least 30%. Some characters have extremely good X-rays too.

In mkx I get hit by X-rays all the time because I am used to playing people who understand the concept of meter management and don't blow it on a super. I usually have to laugh because of obvious the person is mashing the triggers when they have full meter and I'm pressuring/combo-ing them.

THAT AND GOD DAMN UPPERCUTTS
If a string can be interrupted, you know it will with dat xray/uppercut. It's so weird and random. I use marksmen erron black a lot and I'll have absolute casuals interrupt gun cancels and gun swings with upper cut and xray or whatever buttons they happen to be jamming the shit out if. Its crazy! They have 0 respect for anything me, you, or anyone else iscapable of doing with any character lol. Absolutely 0 fucks given haha

worst thing is when i block one x-ray and think "this sob saw i blocked it, so he aint gonna try it again". then i knock him down and eat a fucking scorpion torpedo

Clampa_

Learn from this.
If you happen to see they have full meter and you knock them down, 90% of the time you can expect them to wakeup x-ray.

*Spit* No Charge
Rarely. 99% of the matches I've played online they X-Ray on wakeup if they get 3 bars on ground impact.

All the time. Some of these guys are actually pretty good at using X-Ray. Many times I see they have full bar, and so I just hold block a ton, and they never do it. And then the second I decide to go in...they pull the trigger. It doesn't really matter though because by the time they build 3 bars, I already have a huge life lead.

Gesture Required Ahead

Get on that hook
I think it has more to do with the fact that x-rays are so easy to input as opposed to two qc motions plus a button or two half circles/circles plus a button. The cinematic part in SFIV doesn't really matter imo as its all in the frame data.

I also think it has to do with some of the unique tracking properties of some xrays. Kotal Khan's comes to mind, with his satellite tracking sunbeam from anywhere on the screen. lol
Casuals don't take into account frame data. They just do it because they see that they can. I don't think at all that it has anything to do with the ease of inputs since scrubs in USF4 will always wake-up Ultra or random Ultra. But because of the huge cinematic, it gives you time to block.

This was the case in Injustice as well and it was also 2 buttons to perform a Super

In fairness, X-rays are pretty good in this game. I use Ermac and his is such a good move vs his MK9 one.

Street Fighter and injustice have a trigger animation and then a start up animation. The trigger animation pauses the game and lets both players know the super move is coming out. If the player hasn't hit a button yet, he can then block what's coming next. In MKX and mk9, there is no trigger animation and there's only start up animation, so many times you get hit by the x Ray because you can't react in time to the start up animation and you are either not blocking or pressing a button. Random x rays are actually very strong in mk.. it happens so fast.
And to answer your question: almost every single time

Out of the 800+ matches I've maybe blocked like 3 X-rays, It's like Impossible to predict the online player's randomness they do it in the most insane times and I just eat shit ;__;

One thing I started doing is calling their moves out on the mic which makes them not do it lol, well that or they turn on their mic to talk shit about me calling their moves out XD
