What's new

Let's talk: MKX on PC

I can't launch the game anymore after the patch. The splash comes up then it gives me an error saying "Please verify the integrity of the MKX game cache." Anyone have a fix?
Consider buying a next gen console ? :D
I had the same splash when launching with the desktop icon (with the -dx10 properties). Issue disapeared after getting rid of the -dx10.

That new MKX screen before the game starts took a long time the first time I launched the game, though it's pretty much the same as before after that. The dead woods seem fine now for me, haven't tested a finisher at the Lin Kuei Temple (also caused those glitchy effects in that stage). Not sure if the patch fixes my ranked scores resetting, hoping it does.

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
So, I ran MK X on my "GeForce 560 Ti" this week. (which is average video card for this game).
Also I have i7-2600 3.4 MHz and 8k Ram.
The game was skipping intros here and there and I had crappy frame rate jumping around.
Than I installed "GeForce Experience", which optimized my MK X settings for me and after that almost all maps ran at 47-60 frames.
Of course settings was not so high :
-1600x900
-0 detail density
-no shades
-low textures
etc..

BUT the game experience was much better. You can download this program on official website or just google it.

Later I bought GTX 970... nothing to explain, everything run on ultra settings and I am even recording simultaneously.

Conclusion:
So, good video card as I expected is crucial for MK X.
If buying a new card is not the option for you, then try to optimize the game through GeForce experience, for example.
Wish they had optimization for Radeon folks already. Nothing exists to help us card optimize like Nvidia folks have been doing.

What lever glitch is that?
Due to an autosave, the lever puzzle in the krypt is glitched if you leave without solving it and some players can't complete it and unlock the rest of the place to get all the skins, fatalities and brutalities with their well earned coins. The prompt to activate the things is not appearing anymore and the door is forever closed.

This is the door with the three locks in Kahn's Tomb?

People who dont have atleast min. req hardware or even better don't have constant 60 fps should just not enter online mode ffs.

This game was designed to run at constant 60 fps. Running lower means skipping frames (in sync) or even slow motion and pretty much coz awful experience for the other player who have no problem maintaining 60 fps.

Seriously, if you don't have constant 60 fps, stay out of online. Please.

People won't do that though. While obviously many people are having legit problems with the game, I strongly believe there's many that are trying to play the game on systems that do not meet the requirements, or aren't optimized well, and then they bitch on the Steam pages :p.

Not only they bitch on Steam forums later on but which is more important they're destroying any chance for good experience online for people who have hardware that have no problem maintaining 60 fps.

It's so damn simple - if you don't have constant 60 fps just don't enter online, that is all.

The smart stuff!
There are people on Steam who claim they don't even have minimum settings and play game flawlessly. Odd stuff.

Wait, what? You mean their hardware is below the min req for the game?

Coz i can run MK X flawlessly at 1440p with maximum settings @ rock steady 60 fps but my hardware setup is an overkill for this game.

I've read someone with i3 proc claiming he has no issues when most of us who have min, higher or over the top rigs had issues. I'm not sure what's going on any more so I'm blaming optimization ;)

My PC isn't a monster either but I'm running it at a constant 60fps on nearly max settings (anistropic filtering set to 4, everything else at max). It sometimes drops during fatalities and stuff like that but the actual gameplay runs smoothly.

Worry not, one day they will get sick of "this terrible port" and quit. Those who actually have fun will stay. Generally those have better connection and can run the game well enough.

Unfortunately that will take like a year or even more. It was the same with MK9 on PC thou.

People just don't think / care and whats even more mind blowing is that after they experienced slow motion game which they coz - they go to Steam forums and bitch that the port is bad, you're bad, your connection is bad coz they can go to training and game in 45 fps works just fine lmao or they can run Crysis 3, Evolve or whatever game fine so this one is trash.

People stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

I think if your frame rate is low then it will not affect the other player.
The problem online is ping or the ability to check properly what your future opponent's ping is.

Well, to be honest, there were issues with HVS ports. I upgraded my PC in order to run MKX at maximum setting and 60 FPS. It works well. Then I decided to try IGAU and see how it looks with my new hardware. Set everything to max...
Steam shows 30 FPS (why on earth?..) but frameskips and jitter are so horrible that it feels like the game runs at half speed while only updating screen like 5 times per second. I was so dumbfounded that I uninstalled freaking game in a feat of frustration lol.

You're mistaken.

Since MK like most FG is synced by frames. So if one of the players can't maintain that fps game either goes out of sync or sync to next possible point which both players can maintain. Usually its from 60 to 30 fps which coz slow motion.

Honestly never had problems with IGAU either (beside that one with online when game came out). And im not saying HVS ports are perfect or even good. Just that majority of problems are cozed by players them selfs and their lack of knowledge.

That definitely contributes, no argument here.

Since MKX is my first fighting game I've played on PC it's such a bizarre thing to hear that. Kinda sucks for those players out there with frame issues, hell I have issues with stuff that makes no sense causing fps loss. Guess it balances it out, training mode stage only, no ice clones allowed.

for me it runs well now at 1600 pixels , no anto aliasing all on low , except textures and it still look well. gameplay and lagree is top priority over grafic.
i get 58 fps now on my radeon 7800 seris, also never had bad lag issiue but i always sort players after ping and have kinda fast internet. sort players after ping should be the default setting and the room should remember this setting , so you dont have to click 7 times r1 after every match to sort the players

so if you have lag reduce the grafics (especially the resolution) it will effect the other player too. before i tried to play on 2560 pixels with good setting no way to play lagfree , the performence could here and there be imporved. hope this come when the versions for the old consoles get released

btw , patch fixed the dead woods error i had

Yeah i had better performance before this last patch because of all the tweaking and tinkering i did with settings and the ini and what not....i managed to get it back to where it was though and seem to have better performance on koatan jungle thats about it though......personally i wish they would fix the leaderboards first so i would have something to do when there is no one to play with online.
