Not testy just writing the same thing over and over.

Maybe someone should make a better quality video? Might help those that aren't understanding the text explanations.
Possibly . It's not just this I'm not understanding it's a lot. I'm new to a lot of fighting game tech and the text above just explains how to do what he is explaining,but not not showing in button form exactly what I should be pressing.like basically what i got out of it is do a string, a special move , then a button or direction at a certain time depending on if they block or not

Yeah i noticed this when i couldn't get the kunai to come out after b21 on takeda...I was kind of confused as to why the normal one would come out every time but when i tried to input the close or far kunai it would stop... then i remembered reading about putting in a direction after a special to cancel it before the cancel actually happens.

Example... i was trying to do b21xxkunai (db1b) to make the kunai hit close. The kunai never comes out unless you wait until the string is done to hold back and make it close kunai.....
That is essentially what you are saying right. Only difference is you do it on purpose instead of accidentally and input the direction after the special move input as soon as u know it's blocked or hit(depending on what is safe)??

Obviously the example i gave would not be a good OS since u would want to always cancel into kunai on block to get the +3 scenario instead of punishable slow ass b21.

maybe a better example for an actual OS on takeda would be b21xxdb1 and at this point if u see that the b21 hit you can press b to cancel the kunai and input bf1MB to switch which special comes out for a full combo??

sorry if that shit up there is confusing I am terrible at explaining my brain thinkings.

I'll try to explain it in different words.

Hitstop is longer on block than on hit in this game which is why this works.

Ok, so first you need to know what you want to OS. Do you want the special to ONLY come out on hit or ONLY come out on block?

On HIT:
input your string then input the special normally. You want to then delay slightly (depending on the string you are doing) and input another DIRECTION, AFTER it would have already cancelled on hit but BEFORE it would have cancelled on block. This will invalidate the special and stop it coming out on block, but on hit it will have already come out.

on BLOCK:
input your string as normal, but WAIT to input the special. Don't finish your special until AFTER the cancel window on attack has ended but BEFORE the hitstop on block finishes, which will causes the special to still come out if the string is blocked.
 
that seems like a incredibly small number of frames to work with be lets see if i understand with that sub example

B3,B3,D4

i see it hit...i can change that down 4 into a iceball yes?
