I also think it's just another agency enforcing the law. And it will only become worse if bill s. 978 gets passed , then it can be penalized by sending you to jail because streaming will become an illegal act (even when game companies allow their games to be streamed).

Good point, Haze. I thought that law could work against streamers only if the game companies sued them, which NRS or Capcom would never do. This is unacceptable.

Glad to see this story is picking up some gas. Look, I really wouldn't be surprised if there were no 'extra parts' to this story being left out. It's now policy of the DHS to basically confiscate anything they deem as 'terrorist related'. Ever heard of the "See Something, Say Something" campaign? It's absolutely outrageous. There's a reason Americans are outraged, and a reason they are sitting in all over the US of A protesting in similar "Occupy Wall Street" campaigns.
We're finally fed up with the police brutality, the lack of our rights and our awful economy.
Things are going to get far worse before they get better here.
I've personally done reports on this stuff myself with my good friends in We Are Change NY and Pennsylvania as well as here in Ohio exposing the corruption going on. The important thing for Spooky to do is to remain vigilant and to keep getting his story out. The more of a ruckus this story causes the more likely they are to give you back your equipment. If you let this government walk on you they will.
Keep pressing to get this story out. I suggest all of you share his video on FaceBook (I did already) and get the word out.
This is just crazy.
But one thing is for certain, though we are all a competative community, and we all have differences, we all need to stand together as a community and a family (because we really are one, in the end of things) and we need to watch out for every one of our friends on here in the future as well.
This just cannot be tolerated or accepted.

Thanks for the support everyone. There really isn't more to the story than what it is (i was there.) Spooky gets kinda nervous and does Spooky shuffle around border police..this isn't the first time these kinda things have happened to him. It happened to him at Canada Cup last year (he had to pay for a work visa to stream( This time, however, we were traveling back together and they seized his equipment without probable cause. By the time I went back to the terminal to check on him DHS agents had already brought him to the back room. =/

Trust me there is no rhyme or reason other than instill fear and paranoia (I actually think it doubles as a tourism/illegal immigrant deterrent).

Two ex-fellow employees from EAC and EAM have been detained crossing the US border for absolutely no reason (other than to accomodate the TSA pat-down quota). One of the two was threatened and humiliated in a parking lot by TSA agents - granted he refused to be pat-down walking into a washroom, but when he did comply, it escalated to unadulterated abuse of power. It goes farther than just keeping your stuff; detaining and threatening pregnant and elderly people... Read up on it and you'll be appalled.

Until it happens to you, it's hard to believe, but sometimes it really is the system that's fucked up...

Well, the actual police are a lot different than DHS and TSA. Most of the cops I've met have been pretty cool, honestly, some are assholes but they're on delusional power trips. Cops are second class citizens, and most of the non-macho asshole cops realize this, and realize that it's just a job. Sure, occasionally there's some dickhead cop, but in the grand scheme of things I'm glad that the decent ones who aren't corrupt uphold the law.

I don't want gangbangers to have free roam and have drive-by shootings on every street corner, drug dealers on every corner (I'm not talking weed here - weed isn't a concern to anyone), and pedophiles at every playground. Shit like that has no place in a civilized society.

Now, when we're talking government officials, who restrict freedoms, fondle your balls before boarding your flight and seize all your shit...fuck them.

A lot of the problem is their minimal education and requirements for becoming a police officer. Any crazy asshole can graduate high school, attend the police academy and become a cop. Then, on top of that, they're not paid well - so a large amount of them slowly become corrupted over the years. It's a mess, I agree. But there's a few good ones out there. Others...well, they need to be fired and put away.
