Tech - Grandmaster Subzero Untechable full combo throw

For some reason I don't know, @Tom Brady posted the following video in an attempt to send people on a wild goose chase.

Looking at his video, clone placement seemed very off compared to my placement. These are the setups I have found so far

D4, D3, F33 and 12 xx clone on hit will all throw an opponent into the clone if you use a backthrow. You can also walk or run up and clone for the same effect.

However, this is the combo ender I've been using for a week or two and it's very effective because it sets up a very close clone.

This is the result. Excuse the quality.

Breakdown of what is happening.

242 is used over B2 because it pushes your body closer to the corner than B2, this is crucial.

F12 is used because it splats the body backwards and especially the low body hurtbox, which allows the clone to materialise much closer to the opponent than any other ender.

The throw used is a back throw because it grabs the opponent towards you in order to switch sides. That is the startup animation of the back throw specifically so even if teched, the dragging towards the clone happens.

A max range throw is used in order to grab the opponent closer from a farther distance.

The setup is actively being tested against the whole cast. However, it was tested on Kenshi and Mileena pre-upload in order to check whether there are differences between the male and female hurtbox regarding this setup. Both characters were frozen upon teching the throw.

Checkmate.

yes...it works on Kenshi. Can you confirm that every character has different setup for this tech? Or was Tom trying to mislead us :D?

I'll test it more tonight. If Mileena gets caught though, I'd imagine all females do but will check nonetheless.

I understand that stamina using was also false clue? Does it matter how high is the opponent's body when I'm performing F1,2?? Cause I did everything just the way you have shown Quark and...it didn't work. Although I believe I do F1,2 a little bit higher than You.

Everything must be done exactly as shown. Height, combo, distance. You must also know how long to wait for the appropriate clone distance.

You get more damage from 242, NJP, JK, f12, slight walkback clone. Works with this too.
What is the %? I always end my combos with F12 and the damage for that setup is about 22-28% off of general mixups and combos. More damage would be amazing to have considering just the inferior combos are more than enough to destroy most chars in the corner.

How do You even come up with this guys. I'm truly amazed. I mean there are so many factors to make it work. Proper combo, distance , height. Do you know some secret mechanics on which the game is based which gives you hints what can happen if you do A and B?? Or do you find these things by luck?

A decent one I've found is JIP at the right angle you can clone as well.

Also with further experimenting all of the corner combos you end with a slide you can walk back just a hair and place a clone in the perfect position for this clone to pop out.

this would be more useful if throw techs weren't hard enough as it is.
That is completely irrelevant.

The entire point of this setup is that the opponent is reading your throw into clone and techs. If someone isn't teching the throw then that is actually even better for you.

just saying.... the tech basically TELLS your opponent..... hold my throw or armor.

I mean.... throwing into clone or a tech into clone nets the same yes?

Yes... that's what you want, people pressing buttons over what you could do to them. That's how Subzero works.

This tech has no downsides whatsoever.

That definitely looks like a better set up if you can get them into that combo from a corner carry. TB's version requires the run xx clone to pull off. So far I've been able to get the distance right for Kitana and Scorpion from the run cancel version, but I haven't incorporated combos just yet. I have a feeling what TB did is actually doable on the entire cast unless someone's got a funky hit box off a throw tech. I do wonder how effective this is against characters that can wake-up MB straight into a combo. I guess you can either read that or use cryomancer on those characters/variations that can. Granted, it's nice that even if they can get out of the situation, they're sacrificing meter to do so.

Ok, I've been trying your combo and I'm straight up not getting it. What's the notation on your combo. I see JIP, 242, 1?, 12 xx Clone?

242 1 F12 clone

make sure to time the 242 and clone right, as well as do the throw from max distance.

Lmfao this is so dumb jesus.

Sub zero is gonna have to lube up for that nerf bat soon. Not saying thats what i want but theres no way this is gonna be left alone. and I'm sure they will tweak more.

This is literally the safest form of mixup he has and it can still be blown up.

There are a lot of things you can do to avoid getting grabbed.
