Does anyone have any meterless BnBs for kenjitsu? Like what are you supposed to be doing before you have the meter to set up his vortex? Pretty much every combo I can find has an ex df1 launcher.

There are, but damage output is really small, so it looks like this :

1) You start kombo with string (114 or b1 or 4 or b3) or you might jump on target with punch
2) cancel it into DB1 (analog of RK =Rising Karma)
3) D1 - and the reason you hit D1, because it is fastest Kenish's move (8 frame starter), also it is very very hard to link this move, it is about 1-2 frame window (like hitting "Plum Flower combo string" ender in MK9 for Kung Lao) I guess you have to be Jedi like Reo to hit it consistently.
4) Either you end combo without meter using DB4 (Slam) OR you can do Ex Slam and prolong combo with :
~~5) JIP (2) and so on....

Also, if you use naked DF1 (Sword Dancing move) then you end up with knocdown, because you drop your target on the floor and can NOT continue.

27% isn't that bad and its super easy execution so can't complain I guess.

Also whats the 1 meter combo to get to the vortex? In pig's video the setup is 2 meters?

You could do: b1 ex db4 ji2 d1

Only 17% for a bar Not sure if it would even be worth it i mean you're giving up a good chunk of damage to get the 50/50 wouldn't it just be better to get like 30-35% in a normal combo for that bar? I suck so I could be totally wrong.

both of you guys are right, I just meant this is a one bar starter for the vortex...
and linking DB1 into d1 is really hard for me to do right now... I also suck...

The whole point is to try to get rid of the rk into d1 just-frame because it's not reliable and if you fuck up you burn a bar and leave yourself in recovery for full combo punish

the rk into d1 link stuff is risky as fuck, it's actually more risky than just doing b1 ex db4 in the guy's face and praying to god it lands, because at least if it hits it's guaranteed to put you in the reset situation

the more I play with kenjutsu the more I think this blender shit is a bill for kenshi, I'm really not convinced that it's worth the meter investment, especially with how easy it is to fuck everything up

Apparently Possessed 44~EX DB4B is stance specific in the corner. I have to just do 4~EX DB4B now. MY LIFE IS LITERALLY ENDING

Please don't let there be more stance specific stuff. I think 114~bf3 might be stance-specific as well, haven't tested....

Note: This particular instance is really a non-issue. Doing 4 instead of 44 works fine.

Put a guy in the blender with possessed tonight. Worked for about Six games and then he just started poking out and armoring through my first hits on B23 or F23 and even B11.

Any thoughts?

In kenjutsu I've been ending combos in df1. b1 exdf1 b1 df1. It grants a hard knockdown and lets me run up with either f2 df1 or b1 df1. It's small chunks but pretty reliable. Of course you have to read if they're wake up happy or backdash happy. I figure with how precious meter is, I'll save it for punishes.

What, d1 pressure on hit? If he's poking you out of stuff after d1 on hit either the frame data is super wrong or you are not doing your moves early enough and are not abusing your frame advantage

DF1 is not a hard knockdown. It just looks like it is because it causes them to slide on the ground. I was doing meaty pressure after that move at first, but then people started doing tech rolls and stuff and completely messed up my setups. They have too many options after that move for you to do any kind of reliable pressure without using some kind of OS.

@Pig Of The Hut , you have to tell me. Am I the only one that uses all his meter messing up the kenjutsu vortex? I'm sure I'd get used to it. Also. After a poke or non successful mix up does bf2 work like zods bf3 as in pushing them off of you and you being safer?

+16 seems a bit ridiculous. It's definitely + on hit, but not by that much.

b+3,2, RK ==> f+3, RK ==> 1 ==> 1 ==> 1 ==> 4,3, SC = 12 hits, 42% damage (43% with ji1 or ji2)
f+3,2, RK ==> f+3, RK ==> 1 ==> 1 ==> 1 ==> 4,3, SC = 12 hits, 44% damage (45% with ji1 or ji2)

though they can armor and backdash. or d2.

if you burn meter you can get 34% up else 21% max I believe.
only practical as a punish.

The problem about bf3 is thet you throw them far, where in kenjutsu is better to stay on the opponent, constantly pressuring him, imho.

B3, throw, b3into OH sword slam ...- those tools are for pressuring
