Yeah I actually think his dragon fire and dualist variations are really interesting. Liu Kang seems much more defensive to me in this game than other MK games. Which actually means he probably fits your style pretty well. He doesn't seem as aggro as he is expected to be.

I was a zoner in injustice. This style of mortal kombat allows me to play the way i use to play which was more of a rush down style. I have to work on my run cancels but i can see that they will be very useful for his dragon fire variation.

Wow, watched the first 5 minutes of the Cassie video and I'm very impressed. I'm not enjoying goro as much as I'd like so I'm trying to pick her up too. One thing, you say B12 is neutral on block. I'm a little confused about this game's mechanics. Since the frame data says it's neutral on block,isn't it really +1 because it takes them a frame to stop blocking afterward?

I watched KH Cat vs. REO at a local and this couldnt be further from what I saw. Cat was constantly rushing in and it seemed like his EX bicycle kick is safe because he would do that then go straight into more pressure. He was playing completely aggro the whole time and was Duelist I believe. I dont know if it was just for the matchup(Erron) or what but I think Liu Kang can definitely be played offensively.
