@Qwark28 Hey, thanks a ton for answering these questions! I've got a few more Takeda questions if you don't mind.

1) Does it look like he has any viable wakeups?

2) Does it look like he has any decent mind games with teleport-cancels or is the start-up too slow?

3) Do the kunai's track, or do they go a set distance?

4) Does his air-teleport come out at a set height, or at the height of his jump? Can he instant-air teleport (and is there a reason he would want to)? Is tge whiff recover on air-teleport low enough to use it as a pressure tool?
Dude you're reading my mind and asking all the best questions! You're my frand! lol!

- from your early impressions how do you feel with antiairing in this game? is it like MK9 where basically everything AA or a jumpinfest like Injustice?

- I know that everyone has a different JPs and JKs but how many does one char excaclty have?

- do jump-Ks guarentee anything? like a deep jump-K like MK9?

- could someone test if Kitanas JK into fan combos plz

- how strong are projectiles in this game especially instant air ones? which char has from your impression has a strong projectile game?

thx beforehand!

Remember that frame data can be patched day 1 guys. It has been stated Liu Kang has a 5 frame jab and doesn't in the pre release build. I'm hoping some things change for Raiden.

During the stream where Takeda was revealed they forgot to show a special move. This is very important to me! What. Is. Shirai Ryu Kan?? What does it look like what does it do? It's in the third variation with the beam swords. Also what are the startup frames on lasher variation's anti air and is the whip spin thing that looks like NW's staff spin a viable wakeup or nah??

@Qwark28 @EarlyReflections It does sound like Raiden is pretty ass, tbh. Mediocre ground speed, poor backdash, mediocre projectile, unsafe specials, and even his teleport in Displacer just sounds "ok." Can you guys who have the game see anything particularly good or standout about him? Any reason at all why they'd make all that other stuff he has so weak? Specifically, how are his pokes and strings? Any good ones or things that put him at advantage? Does he at LEAST not have huge gaps in his bnb strings? SMH... I was gonna main the guy. :(

I'm sure he has something, displacer raiding is very good for setups. CPU normal raiden did a setup where I woke up and got launched for a combo

Me too...
He's my only main in MK9 that join MKX's roster, I hope to see something good on him. :(

If I was a betting man, I'd say that it's an uppercut :D

I appreciate that, but it sure doesn't sound like he has the things we typically associate with high-tier status. In fact it doesn't sound like any of his base tools are that good. That's why I want to know more about his strings and pokes, since those would be his saving grace.

His Ice aura makes him immune to chip damage, if you do the ex version then he has damage reduction. Damage reduction on a standing 4 move is from 7% down to 4.6%

Also the startup frames of the aura are 0
Man I'm glad to hear that , when I was at the Playstation expo , his ice aura dropped a 12% grab down to 7% meterlessly.

Could you give me some info about laos:

Jump

forward dash/back dash /walkspeed

Best normals based on hitbox/range/safeness and frame data

His pokes

And your personal toughts on tempest/buzzsaw variation

Sorry for asking so much

Just glancing at some of this, I see uppercuts are trending at the 6-8 frame range. Wonder if they're all good or if there are some garbage, double-digit ones sprinkled in.

Jumping in seems like a tough proposition. I like it.

people who dont know footsies, frame data and counters cant possibly give you any feedback on that
Excuse-me, but, that sounds rather condescending and not true, sure, some people might not be trained enough to tell you every subtlety concerning the netcode and whatnot, but, it does not take a tournament player, to play offline then play online, and notice if the responsiviness of the game has changed too much, they sure can give you some feedback, maybe they can't go in-depth, but as players they have something to say.

If they do not know what frame data is that can be difficult to judge. If they are + on block to the point they can safely follow up, but are being smacked out of the setup by the opponent then that obviously isn't good netcode lol. Unless they test those types of things and button response they can't possibly know.

Yo guys im back for about 2 hours. If you want some more info ask away and ill do my best to answer them.
You can ignore this if it's already been asked- Sorry, it's difficult for me to parse through all the questions already asked.

But what would you say Sub Zero's Cyromancer variation is all about? I know he's supposed to have extended combos, but what does he have in the neutral game with Cyromancer?

What does that "Ice Hammer Drop in the Air" mainly serve a purpose for?
