Damage in MK X

SGX

I guess what I mean is, if they want BnB damage to be roughly 28-30%, single pokes shouldn't be doing 9-10%. I don't want people to be able to win purely with fundamentals and no swag combos, lol.

GT MK OshTekk.
So far we have only seen scrubs like Tyler trying to put combos together but im sure bnbs will go about 40-60%. At least I hope so, I prefer long big damaging combos than short low ones.

Would it be such a bad thing if bnbs do less damage than mk9? It would just make for longer matches, which is great to me. I always thought the 2/3 sets in mk9 tournaments felt a tad short...

Watchu talking 'bout OP, I saw a 50% Quan Chi combo on the Goro stream.

What a day. What a lovely day.
I've thought this for quite some time. The damage for combos does look much lower than it did back in MK9. That long ass combo 16Bit did in the corner only came to about 33%, in MK9 Kitana would've done about 52%.

It's good though. Hopefully this will encourage more variety of use in the characters' move sets.

Thats why they call this thing bloodsport, kid.
Once pros and combo fiends get their streams and videos going it will be like we are seeing a brand new game. Besides 16bit, watching these hacks bumble and mash through all the gameplay weve seen has affected our brains. Its gonna look night and day.

Get your guns on. Sheriff is back.
All I know is I am done playing around with damage thats low unless they have the best setups ever. Green Arrow was such a damned struggle. You'd feel like you were running the show and you were until you realized you hadn't even cleared 65% of there health after working your ass off. You literally had to work so much harder to get the output needed from that character to justify playing him that it wasn't worth it. When everyone says you HAVE to use his super to get damage then its time to go elsewhere.

This time around I'm goin in on whoever can pressure and hit hard enough to make me smile. I liked Hawkgirl in IGAU and Bane for that. I also enjoyed me some Shazam and Batgirl from time to time. In MKX...I'm goin' ham.

I like low damage because it puts a greater emphasis on footsies, tactical play, and POSITIONING. This is a game where positioning is really important (interactables, etc) and where gaining ground can be quick (via running), so I predict the meta will have a lot of combos which optimize either meter building or position/placement, as well as standing resets and 50/50s. If I were a betting man, I'd say these things will end up being infinitely more important than if BnBs do 32% versus 45%.

That BNB that Ray did with Kenshi was pretty swag, but it only did like 26% though.

But something tells me that we haven't seen much in the combo category.

Personally, I'd rather have easy to perform 25-30%, than a difficult 45% that requires tight timing and are situation specific.

MK9 combos > Injustice combos

I saw goro do a 30%+ damage with #PunchFace into another special.
that's probably far from optimal, so things are looking good

One complaint I have with the scaling ever since MK9 started getting patched was the scaling on X-Ray moves. They should easily be doing 50%+ in combos because you're spending all of your meter to do it.
