Damage in MK X

I have noticed that damage seems to be really toned down compared to MK9.I have seen 12 to 13 hit combos doing 22 to 26 percent damage.I know games not out,but you think combos will be longer or that the damage seems reasonable. This something I seen in the many streams I watched.Does the TYM community have any thoughts on this, and of course game can always be patched.:):qtl:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Damage will probably be about the same, and will vary by character.

Tyler did a 40% Ermac combo on one of the streams, and Goro looks to have great damage output as well. We'll just have to eat and see.

While it is very possible the damage is toned down across the board, I seriously doubt we've seen any optimal combos outside of possibly 16 bit's gameplay. Also consider we've seen pre build gameplay for the most part, and that stuff is subject to change.

From what i've seen in Ermac's combos , he needs like ~10 hits for 25-30% so it seems he is a little bit toned.

What we've seen so far was pre launch/patch game so only time will tell, as for now damage scale seem to be better, we will see what happens after game release.

Kotal's 1 meter BnB did roughly 46% with level 3 sun god command grab in the build I played. Obviously things can change but I'm pretty sure the damage is roughly the same as MK9 accross the board.

Oh my lol. Well I'm hoping he does a little less than that considering Blood Sacrifice and Crystal Totem.

Apparently the designer wanted it to be like "Rock Em Sock Em Robots", according to one of the streams. He wanted the characters to have to beat the shit out of each other during the course of each match.

Uppercuts still seem to do a dumb amount of damage. Outside of that, the damage seems to be in a good place. But, like others have said, we haven't seen optimal combos or the likes.

I'm fine with combos doing a fairly good amount of damage, to be honest. I'm just glad that ridiculous chip from normals and shit is finally gone. Losing your whole health bar to chip in MK9 from normals was ludicrous.

Right now damage looks a touch lower than in MK9 but as everyone has said, most of what we've seen are not optimal combos. But it's entirely possible that it's scaled down a little bit to compensate for slightly faster gameplay. They could also want breakers to be less dominant than in MK9. One way of doing that is by scaling down combo damage. The game is coming out in a week so I guess we'll find out soon enough.

But if it IS scaled down I'd like that because I've always thought BnBs doing 40%+ damage is too much. If the toughest combos in the game do 40% that's ok but BnBs shouldn't be doing more than 28-30% at max.

The one thing i'm seeing that I'm not sure will change once we have the game in our hands is a general toning down across the board of damage without meter. Granted this makes sense as it's now easier to get meter in the first place, but it seems like a lot of moves don't lead to combos unless you burn them.

I too have noticed this, as I'm sure most have. Personally, I'm fine with it. I think this was done for balance reasons and give lesser tier characters more of a chance.

I don't see most BnB's in MK X doing more than 40% if that much daily. I expect the 20-30% on average with damage in combos, however I'm sure there will be some larger. I just don't see a huge amount like MK 9. I remember when Ermac pre patch had easy 40-60% combos that were very easy to do, and KL having big combos. I don't see that this time around lol with anyone TBH.

I'm fine with it, plus Tyler and Derrick also said a few times in various streams that they also made certain characters in this game for "players who aren't all about fancy combos but just want to use specials and perhaps zone" Of course in time everyone improves and will do, learn bigger combos, tactics etc but I do like that thinking.

I'm fine with the game having low overall damage, but I'd much prefer the hits themselves to do low damage as opposed to crazy scaling. I'm seeing 8-10 hit combos do 26-28% while j.P into uppercut is doing like 18%

Basically I just want it to be worth it to do sweet ass combos.

Even with that 10% gain you'd still learn combos. To me combos are there to extend your attack and optimize your damage, not put a big freakin hole in your opponent. I'm fine with normal attacks and pokes doing good damage because it rewards the footsi game.

OK 90 percent damage MK X i;);)s that better lol BrainDead and Cossner should be brothers joined at hip they always have some smart ass remark to say
in these forums lol Just Kidding :):)
