The true Grandmaster
I really am happy with how he looks, sounds, and plays. He looks really fun.
Indeed, he looks promising. I can see him being the go-to-character on day 1 for most people. He even go threading on twitter according to Boon lolI really am happy with how he looks, sounds, and plays. He looks really fun.
i see that happening yeah, but for my sake i hope ppl will eventually go back to what they know and that is scorpions and subzeros, this character suffers from the Deathstroke syndrome, very good in the first few weeks and then ppl remember oh wait this game has teleports (injustice) and they will just go to whats easy and simple... leaving me and anyone else that actually likes the character to make him awsome...Indeed, he looks promising. I agree with everything except gimmicky. I think his move set is perfect.. real good but doesn't seem overpowered. I just need to see what his normals and strings are like.Eh, I think he looks gimmicky; too much Joker influence. From the looks of it, he'll be somewhat of a threat from full screen, but maybe have some dirty corner setups. A full-screen threat doesn't really mean much when half the cast gets in for free. Compared to the other characters (particularly Takeda, Mileena, and Liu Kang), I feel like he's going to be pretty heavily outclassed. (I hope I'm wrong, btw, because he's off the charts when it comes to pure swag...)
in a game run by mostly teleport based heroes, a character without one is already lacking, because you will spend most of the time in the defensive, does this bring Erron to mid tier, not necessarily, but it sure means that some of those teleport based chars will have some kind of an upper hand on him... i dunno how smooth or fast the frames are on those quickshots, but remembering what happened in injustice ( Deathstroke ) they wont be fast enouth, if they are fast enouth and thats a pretty big if ( sure hope so ) maybe and just maybe you can get a hit in before the frames of the teleport go off. but seeing scorpion/takeda/Mileena/ermac teleports, hope seems bleak... and in a game where projectiles dont clash, it makes situations even worse for him, seeing as characters like Sub Zero can trade with him and probably still come out on top...I agree with everything except gimmicky. I think his move set is perfect.. real good but doesn't seem overpowered. I just need to see what his normals and strings are like.
It has nothing to do with his character design. His back dash looks almost exactly the same as Joker's and his rolling sand bomb is very similar to one of joker's specials in Injustice. It seems like a lot of characters in MKX have taken a couple things here and there almost straight up from Injustice. (Kung Jin has Green Arrow's jump arc and trick arrows for instance) I don't mind though. Erron Black looks amazing. How does an outlaw remind you of the Joker?
They look nothing alike and Erron looks pretty neat so far.
IGAU was always just another MK to me anyway. It has nothing to do with his character design. Thats very comun in the industry, the reusage of assets not only saves money but its a very valuable strategy for the gaming market, and its exacly everything thats wrong with it at the same time... MKX is 50% reskinned injustice and believe it, it works and it will sell because its something ppl are familiar with and like it or not ppl enjoy stuff thats familiar and proven it works...It has nothing to do with his character design. Then you better look somewhere else, telling you right now.sounds kinda silly but I hope he will not be top tier xD I hate playing "mainstream" chars
Personally i hate mirror matches, thats my excuse i dunno about other ppl... about the tier talk, when you been playing fighting games long enouth is not complicated to assume something will be good or bad just by looking at the animations of the character and estimating frames of animation. fighting games now a days are all about having those + frames and short recoveries, thats what makes certain moves to good. When it comes to MK, teleports are always insane fast, regardless of the big recovery on block. On higher lvl play, most ppl know when to teleport to punish full screen, and if they are unsure if it will punish, they will MB it to make it safe. So coming back to my previous statement, that if your character doesnt have a teleport in an MK game he is already lacking, can some characters compensate that lack of mobility with something else, sure ofc they can, but remains to be seen in Erron Blacks Kit what exacly will be that compensating factor if theres any to begin with... Personally as long as i enjoy the character (visually/gameplay) im pretty sure it will workout somehow, i care very little about tiers. Skill over TierPlacement anydayWhy do people care if their main is popular? Is it really going to affect the awesomeness of Erron and the amount of fun you will have playing him if other people are also using him?
Also, relax with the tier talk. Nobody in this thread has had a chance to actually play the game. Also, teleports are almost always full combo punishable on block so who cares.
you mean the white Rifle from Marksman? if so, it seems its only kneeling shot, can be cancelled with a BD or a FDI wonder if that low shotgun which can be dash cancelled can be done standing ?
50%? I would not even go near that far. I'll give you Erron Black & Kung Jin as influences, as well as interactables playing a role. With that, I'd say 25%...if that.Thats very comun in the industry, the reusage of assets not only saves money but its a very valuable strategy for the gaming market, and its exacly everything thats wrong with it at the same time... LBSH If they gave him one, that's all people(filthy casuals)would use. It is an odd design choice though, makes him a more unique zoner though.Um.
Wait a second.
I think I just noticed something.
Erron Black does not have a regular, straight, normal revolver shot projectile.
The closest he has is the gunslinger stance into retreat shot.
That's a really odd design choice...
Unless I missed something.
You gotta use line breaks man, no one wants to read a wall of text.Personally i hate mirror matches, thats my excuse i dunno about other ppl... about the tier talk, when you been playing fighting games long enouth is not complicated to assume something will be good or bad just by looking at the animations of the character and estimating frames of animation. fighting games now a days are all about having those + frames and short recoveries, thats what makes certain moves to good. Nope you are correct. In gunslinger he has the retreating shots. And in Marksman he has the retreating rifle and the kneeling shot. I think it will warrant fewer complaints and it makes him nothing like DS.LBSH If they gave him one, that's all people(filthy casuals)would use.
