I said before Erron could be BD but that mean he is most likely a traitor because the Black dragon has already been said to be working with Quan Chi I believe. Which also means it might mean Erron is Quan in disguise even tho I hate that speculation.
Your other argument is wrong because if you are wounded on the ground you are in no position to make demands of anyone. Especially if Sonya and her hooded team threatened to kill him or the rest of his squad. She bodied Dvorah like she was nothing already when she attacked her for no reason earlier.
Lastly Kotal still wouldn't be smart forcing an alliance via kidnapping because of how Sonya is also a military expert who has already said she doesn't care about outworld. Nothing would be stopping her from turning against him and his soldiers mid battle and joining Mileena against him.
He can't afford all these enemies, it's not smart at all. Especially once

Why does Erron have to be a traitor if he's working with the Black Dragon? Kotal could easily be working with the Black Dragon too as Mileena is working with the Red Dragon, like I said. When were the Black Dragon said to be working with Quan? I highly doubt Erron is Quan. Quan is unlikely to be captured by Sonya and keep his Erron guise up.
It doesn't matter if you're wounded, it doesn't matter if you're lying in a bloody hospital, if your people are holding someone elses daughter hostage you have every right to tell them that they're not getting their daughter back until they agree to an alliance. Kotal doesn't have to be the sole person holding Cassie hostage you know.
How is blackmail not smart? Kotal has Cassie, and the leverage, all he needs to say is that she isn't and won't be hurt as long as Sonya agrees to an alliance. It's simple. Sonya being a military expert means nothing since all she's done is appear with 5 hooded people, she still doesn't know where her daughter is. Sonya isn't a person to backstab someone, and it would be the stupidest thing in the world to turn on him since he has her daugher. How is that not obvious? And Sonya joining Mileena?! Why would she even do that?!
